Follow your bliss. Surrounded by a green meadow and wild flowers, my bliss. Photo credit: beautiful @brittchristenson (at Mace Chasm Farm)
This. An empty space where once a crowning arch of green, twinkling leaves shimmered against the sky. This century old Eastern Cottonwood was taken down by the city recently with nary an explanation as to why. Her absence is felt throughout the park. To add to the sadness her remaining stump stands beside the now defunct and rapidly decaying pool in the background. This public pool was the heart of summer for so many local St Henri children and the only place to swim on hot summer days. How can the city of Montréal be this negligent towards a community who valued and loved this part of the park so very much. I walk by this every day and feel like the heart and soul has been ripped out of our summer community. If nothing is to be done in the immediate future it would be nice to see some signs indicating what is to come and perhaps some beautification of this eye sore which screams neglect to all who live here. (at Quartier st-henri)

Toured the Golden paint factory today!! For a painter it was like being in a candy shop! What a remarkable company started by our tour guide’s grandpa in NYC where he custom made (by hand) paints for many of the great abstract expressionist painters of the 40’s and 50’s. A tale of vision, excellence and a love of the process. This is a drying board testing paint strips outside in the elements, only one of the many tortures the paints must survive before being accepted. I will never take my paints for granted again after seeing all the people and work and love that goes into making them. Very impressive! (at Golden Artist Colors)
