"It is in our nature to nurture but at the same time be nurtured." I have been raised to be very independent. To work hard for all, that I alone, desire. My mother and father have always taught me to support myself emotionally as well as financially and NEVER rely on a man for either. Do I desire love, of course. An independent man, of course, but all within reason. I have to say I am very proud of the woman I have become. I work and have worked extremely hard for everything I have to this present day and will continue to work my butt off to always be successful. I require the same from the man I will eventually marry. An independent woman is a problem to some men, and I say shove it! A successful woman desires a successful man. A successful man should be more than happy to obtain a successful woman.. Now here comes controversy.. Not so successful men wanting to date successful women, money hungry girls trying to lockdown a successful man, the merry goes round and round and round. So, people naturally start to trust less, build walls and become more guarded and protective of the things they have accomplished. Men, who are very successful, are afraid to commit fully and afraid to really let themselves be vulnerable because they fear losing all or "half" of what they have worked so hard for.. If eventually a successful man does commit and wants to marry a prenuptial agreement comes to surface. Some women will be more than ok signing, some will feel that it's already a negative notion with future thoughts of separation. Now, if a woman or a girl does not want to sign a prenup for whatever reason, I think the intensions should be questioned. It doesn't lessen a woman's worth by signing one and it doesn't devalue the marriage. It simply shows that what your soon to be husband worked so hard to build up on his own before marriage will not be taken from him because it was never the woman's in the first place. I, being a successful woman, wouldn't even cringe at the thought of signing one, and why? One, I am not marrying for money, I will marry for love. Two, I will not marry with the thought of divorce, if I'm marrying it will be forever. Third, because I know, and god forbid if I do end up divorcing my husband that I will survive and will be ok on my own like I have always been even before the marriage. And vice versa for a man. Now children coming into this whole picture is another story that could go one forever but I'm not going there today. More controversy? And this is mostly for the men.. A lot of women these days have climbed ladders, have learned to be successful and not rely on a man. But at the same time have to be cautious of who they date and eventually marry. Naturally it's a turn off if the woman makes more than the man. Not because we want more money but we want someone just as or more successful. Intelligent women can be driven by intelligent men, we strive to learn and if we have a man that thinly rides the line, it's just not attractive. Now a man who can teach us and help us grow is a dream come true while at the same time providing love, safety and a warm home. It is in our nature to nurture but at the same time be nurtured. The moral of the story; Men, try not to be so scared, there are good honest women in this world and vice versa. Find a man or a woman who can provide for themselves, who is educated, whom you can build an empire with. Together you may have no limits. Dating someone who is "aspiring" and always aspiring will forever be just that! Find someone who has it going for them already and making it work for themselves, not someone who is ready to latch on and suck you dry. Your options are not limited, a closed mind is what's limiting you. Be cautious of who you date and truly know someone fully before a real commitment.
