Just a lil reminder for all you beautiful green witches out there
Don’t forget to talk to your plants. Tell them about your day, your plans, your issues and solutions. You helped give them life, so don’t feel bad to share a bit of yours with them!
This being said, don’t bombard them with negativity. Feel free to tell them about that subject you’re stressing about, that person who keeps coming for you, etc. But try to level that shit out with some positivity as well. Give them hope, and in doing so, you might just find some as well.
Also, let them know how awesome they are! I fricking serenaded my Baby Sun Rose when her first flower bloomed, and I swear it got bigger and pinker over the next few days.
Appreciate them, engage with them, and take care of them!
So all in all, I had a crappy week, which was thankfully put to a close with a herbal bath and a small blessing spell for a few new greenies that I hope to grow.
My loves, I am so sorry that I have been gone so long, animation school has been kicking my ass.
However, I have recently realized that my life has been dedicated solely to that place for a solid month now, and that ain't healthy so expect a post soon, and hopefully they will start appearing more frequently💚💚
In the meantime, is there anything you beauties want to request? Hit me up
reblog if it's okay for random people to talk to you about witchcraft
it’s not always safe to be open about our craft and sometimes we all just need someone to gush to about that new crystal we got and that spell that worked surprisingly well
For any witch who is going through a stressful event with life changing outcome, or knows someone in the fam who is
This is a divination-ish method I use to prepare myself for the outcome to a stressful process, like interviews or when you are desperately awaiting news. As an anxious person and a basic crybaby, I hate being unprepared for bad news, especially in public, and so this method at least gives me an Idea of what to expect.
All you need to do is prepare a meal, one you plan on eating the day before or even on the day of the stressful event (in my case, an interview with my dream university).
The catch lies in bay leaves. Include one bay leaf for east person who will be eating the meal and cook it in. Make sure they get lost in all the other ingredients and forget about them.
When you serve for yourself - make sure every person serves for themself- to do mindlessly. Don't pay attention to what you are putting on your plate, but rather what outcome you would prefer. Then go eat.
The divination comes in during the eating.
If you have a bay leaf in your food: the outcome is going to be favorable
If you don't : the outcome is going to be a bit difficult.
Now this isn't to say that no leaf means no success. It hints more at how easy the process of the outcome will be on you and how easily you will be able to focus on the next task.
Extra tip: if you get leaf, suck on it for a bit, and then go bury it outside. Accept the blessing and return it.
I mean, as smexy as lil Gabe is, I don't think that seeing his majesty is going to traumatize young minds.
Maybe concentrate more on the censorship of the porn bots than of my pet? Thank yooouuuuuu
Have some more of smexy lil Gabe for the trouble.
Edit: you know, I was joking when I thought that it would be funny if this post itself was flagged. I did not think it would actually happen, as if to prove my point.
As a green witch, I find it absolutely a necessity to have a record of my plants, my interactions with them and a lot of useful information. Recording it all is a fulfilling way to dedicate time to my practice, and get a future use out of it. So, as promised a whillleee ago (sorry 'bout that), here is my layout for my plant based grimoire, and some extra stuff I include in mine.
Lay out :
First page:
This is basically my cheatsheet for that plant.
It has its name, it's nickname locally, where I personally can find it (in my garden on a store brand), how long it takes to dry from fresh, how it's smells and how it tastes. I also include a little dried leaf or flower for when I need a reminder of how it looks or need to compare it to a mystery plant.
Second page:
Folklore and local significance.
This is where I slap all the folklore and local stories and opinions I can find. Now this might take up more than one page, that's okay, most of these will.
Just make sure to source your info, whether it be from a wiki page or from the crazy old lady down the street. Guys, I cannot stress enough getting stories locally, especially if the plant is a local one.
And if you don't have an old lady down the street, ask your fam! Why did your mom give you ginger when you felt sick? Why does your uncle swear by lavender? Find out.
Third page:
Science shit.
Witchcraft and science goes hand in hand, not at each others throat. This is the page or pages where you try to understand the inner workings of the plant and its behavior. Why it is this color, why it grows like this or that.
For example, dandelions. Yes, we all know them for being the most stubborn plants ever that will even survive in the cracks of concrete but. They can only do this because they have long and thick tap roots that allow them to reach nutrients and moisture that other plants cannot. So for me, they are not only plants of resilience, but plants that embody the idea of taking opportunities that others wont in order to succeed.
Knowledge=understanding=accuracy.
Fourth page:
The fun part.
This is where you collect all the conclusions your path with this plant has lead you to. All the folklore and opinions and science equal this page or pages.
Experiment with the plant. Cook it, clean with it, burn it, dry it, go nuts. This page is where future you will go to to remember why you use the plant the way you do, or why you use it in this ritual or spell.
This is the page of your own personal association with the plant, and the experiences that lead to it.
Fifth page:
This is where I chuck all my recipes and spells that I develop or use that use the plant in question as a major or main ingredient. I suggest leaving a few pages for this, even once you've moved on to the next plant, because you'll add and develop this section as you evolve on your path.
Others I suggest adding in:
An envelope, either for each plant or for the entire notebook. It's an easy and subtle place to keep any notes or misc stuff that you want to organize later without destroying by accident.
An art page. If you're an artist or writer, add a page where any poems or pieces you create about that plant can be placed. Go wild, hell, put quotes if you'd like.
A page for your aspiration as a witch. This is where I put my promises to myself and my plants about my path and my actions in it.
And that's that! Later on maybe I'll post some pictures of this as it is in my plsnt grimoire, but for now I am not brave enough.
Until my next post, stay healthy my onions, and don't forget to bloom!
i can’t understand ppl who hate rats. “their tails are creepy!! there’s no fur on them!!!” ??? you don’t have fur on most of your creepy ass body either. “THEY HAVE LITTLE PEOPLE HANDS” YOU HAVE LITTLE PEOPLE HANDS TOO, stop hating. you’re weak. look at their sweet faces. they just want to love u.

Now just a warning, this is not going to look cute, or witchy. It’s really just functional, that’s about it.
I used an empty milk carton, since it has a lid and a handle. Feel free to use anything though, maybe an old juice bottle, since I know there are a few places that don’t sell milk in cartons. Just make sure nothing toxic was in it previously, like bleach.
Empty the bottle, clean it out and fill with water. Stab a few holes in the cap, and bam. Watering can. I used a compass point, but a knife or scissors will work too. Just be careful not to hurt yourself.
I am pretty sure I am not the first person to come up with this, nor will I be the last. It is nothing fancy, but works really well to gentle the stream and be easy to use.
Here it is! As promised - and reminded by a glorious anon-, these are the ways I have found having a wand useful in my craft!
1. Making holes for seeds. This is pretty straight forward, I physically use the blunter end of my holly (heh heh see where I got my name?) wand to burrow holes for my seeds. My wand has little grooves every few inches so I have a base of measurement, which is useful with growing seeds.
2. Poking the baby greens. So some plants, once they have just sprouted, are very sensitive to touch, and so it’s not always the best idea to fix their placement or tilt their stems with your hands. So I use my wand to nudge them into place without fear of killing them.
3. Pests. Now, as green witches, it is totally fine to still be creeped out by insects. Sometimes you need to get rid of a caterpillar, but you don’t want to kill it by mistake, or just plain touch it. So boom, use a wand to yeet it.
4. Personal touch. Now, this is going with the assumption that your wand is one you use often in your craft, and spends a lot of time with you. If that is a correct assumption, then that wand is going to be hella charged with your energy. Now, this is especially great with plants or anything that you are growing with your own hand. I found that leaving my wand next to a plant helped it get in tune with my own energy.
5. The more witchystuff. Wands make sharing energy with plants a lot easier and neater. It makes a concentrated path between you and the plant, and so I definitely recommend using one if you are still getting the hang of energy work. I use my wand all the time with young seedling that I want to give a little extra nudge to grow strong and proud.
And that is 5 ways I find wands useful in green magick and gardening! I’ll add more if I come across any more!
If you can think of any other ways, feel free to add on!
So, number three was the most popular. Since it was a two-part deal, I’ll post the DIY watering can in a separate post.
These are the herbs and teas and other important nonsense I always have in stock. The moment one starts going low, I try to stock up again as soon as possible.
The first one : Rosemary
I try to keep both ground up and whole dried rosemary. The ground up I use mostly in cooking, as its easier to mix into a meal and eat, especially for flavour and texture. Full rosemary leaves I use a lot in bottles and spells and rituals. I personally think it is a very protective herb, and so I also use it in cleansing and protection works.
Secondly: Rose Petals and Holly leaves
Also, dried. Holly is from my birth tree, and so I especially like to use the crushed leaves in any spells and rituals that are targeted solely at me. It is also a plant of luck and protection.
As a person who has struggled most of my life with self esteem and self love, I like to keep dried rose petals for spells focused on that sort of thing as well as a reminder to try and love something about myself. Anyone who does spells with me (cough @jamesdisawizard cough) can tell you that I love using them in my stuff.
Thirdly: Dandelion seeds
In my craft, symbolism always holds a lot of importance. So you can see the use of having a bottle full of wishes. I use them to symbolize air when dealing with elemental work, and I use them in any spell or ritual that has fortune or a wish involved (which is almost all of them in all honesty).
Fourth on our list: Rock salt
I keep a bottle of the actual crystals as well as a ground up version. The crystals kind of act as a purifier, and after I have cleansed something I place the bottle on top of the object over night, just to absorb any yucky energy I missed. It spends the rest of the time in my shelf where I keep all my herbs and that to act as a filter to any energy that would taint them.
The ground up version I use in spells and cooking. I love pink Himalayan salt because of the iron. It’s a double cleansing ingredient for me, and repels anything that would wish or do harm.
And lastly: Eggshells
My love for eggshells, especially powdered knows no bounds. They’re great for soil and plants, and are extremely powerful protection powders. I use them in replacement of salt when I can’t use salt, and are just all in all great.
And noowwwww:
There are three teas I always keep on hand:
1. Rooibos
People, the amount of divine goodness in rooibos really is underrated. Firstly, there is no caffeine in this drink. While some might cringe at that thought, anyone out there trying to avoid caffeine can have a field day with this one.
It’s great at combating heart problems and helps with lowering the chances of cancer. It is thought to be useful to people with type 2 diabetes. I do know that this hasn’t been confirmed on humans, only mice but my friend swears by it for hers.
I like to drink rooibos when doing anything that is focused on fire magick.
2. Earl Grey
Earl Grey is one of my recommendations to anyone with anxiety or depression. It is one of the most calming teas other than chamomile, and focuses the mind while simultaneously calming the body. I use it a lot when doing anything with divination or meditation.
It also has very little caffeine so whoo.
3. Green tea
As you can see, I have a very sad amount of my favourite brand left (in the bottle) but the shop brand works very well too. So, when mixing teas I love putting green tea with earl grey. They really work well together to combat my anxiety and depression, especially when I am in a tough spot of it.
Green tea is my favourite tea ( yes it is bitter and honestly an acquired taste). Long story short, green tea is the only reason I survived puberty with little to no acne. It’s great for purifying the body, and I always have a cup before I start my day to shake off any energy from nightmares and at the end to cleanse the bad energy I pick up during the day.
It is super caffeinated, so if you are trying to avoid that then you might find an issue with this tea specifically.
And that is that! I hope this has been helpful to anyone reading, and thank you for voting! If you have any questions or requests, feel free to contact me!
Hi there, Do you have any links or sources for studying hoodoo/rootwork?because on Instagram people keep mentioning names like Oshun and children of oshun (African gods and deities I assume) and then I get even more confused
So do I XD My sister @lady-of-flowers is actually reading a very informative book called, “Sticks, Stones, Roots, and Bones,” by Stephanie Rosebird (also a book recommended from @spiritroots book list).
Anyway I recommend following both, and purchasing the book. My sister will do little vids about hoodoo on her instagram so I would recommend asking her about that!
