Are there any Canon incidents of cybertronians having human customs in relationships, like kissing or holding hands?

Limited, but yeah! Hand-holding, physical embraces, that’s common enough, and it makes its own kind of sense - Transformers can FEEL, so taking pleasure in physical contact like a human does from hand-holding or hugging isn’t bizarre, even if it might veer too far in the “humanized” direction for some audiences.

Chromedome and Rewind, in particular, have become a bit…. PDA-ish since they got their stuff together a while back.

Kissing is less of a thing. We actually have a page about this! Outside purely comedic instances (a Junkion kissing Grimlock in the movie, Rattrap kissing Rhinox in a “my hero” moment for catching him when he fell) it’s something that seems to be consciously avoided. Transformers have even been heard to canonically express confusion over the very concept. But back in G1, there was an odd lone instance of Ariel giving Orion Pax a peck on the cheek (this feels more like something that a story editor failed to catch, based on the way the cartoon handles everything else):

But Beast Wars and Beast Machines - being the only pieces of TF media before IDW’s comics that actually tried to tell real, credible love stories - would avoid kissing in a very noticeable way, despite being shows that could sorta justify it a little more, being that the characters had organic components. They implied that it was happening, showing things like characters leaning in, or playing a kissy-sound, but the camera would always cut or pan away, or frame the shot so the action was very deliberately kept off-screen.

Even IDW has essentially avoided it outright, bar this abortive implied instance in Blast Off’s fantasy-dream, which raised a lot of audience eyebrows:

I wonder if you can do hc with mtmte Swerve, skids, Rodimus, Drift with a human s/o that is a morning person, but they're trying to hang out with others at late night like on movie nights but pretty big chance they falls asleep. Also in the morning they help make stuff ready for the day before the bots wakes up.

Morning people are magical, how do you do it? (She says even though she’s been getting up at 5:00 a.m. lately)

Swerve:-You nearly fell when you nodded off, but he caught you-He sits there for a minute debating whether he should leave or stay, but ends up leaving and carrying you to bed-When he wakes up and finds you cleaning glasses and straightening up the bar, he tells you that you don’t have to. -He thanks you with kisses and cuddles

Skids:-He holds you like a baby up to his chest when you fall asleep in his lap-He stays the whole movie in case you wake up and still wanted to watch it, but he covers your ears during the loud parts-When you wake up the next morning and find yourself in bed, he’s not there. He’s most likely sleeping in the vents.-If you leave some Energon out for him to find when he wakes up, he will really appreciate it and thank you by taking you in the vents to spy on the others

Rodimus:-He chuckles when you start drifting off, but when you actually go to sleep. He’ll lay you down on his leg and stroke your back absentmindedly while watching the movie -He takes you back to your room after and tucks you in and gives you a goodnight kiss-His work is too complicated for you to do and is written in a different language (plus Ultra Magnus knows if you’ve been doing his work), but he likes it when you are there when he wakes up-He fluctuates between heavy sleeper and light sleeper. Just opening the door to his habsuite could wake him, and other times he can sleep through an invasion, but kisses always work-He expresses his appreciation of kisses with snuggles and peppering your face in kisses

Drift:-He knows when you’re drifting off before you do and will hold you against him until you go to sleep-Once you’re asleep, he excused himself and goes to your room where he’ll past around for a bit while holding you because he doesn’t want to put you down just yet-After he tucks you in and leaves, you’ll wake up feeling all chipper and happy (Drift is good at spreading good aura)-He’s a bit of a morning person too, you’ll usually find him doing yoga or meditating in his room, but you’re lucky enough to get there before he’s up, you can cuddle up against the crook of his neck and he’ll be stuck there till you move

Optimus Prime

- He’d prefer to stay close to the base for whatever you do,so you guys probably end up taking a walk through Jasper. It’s not his fault;Optimus is the leader of his team. He’d want to know if something was wrongright away.

- Even so, you both do end up having a nice time. Sharing afew kisses, talking with each other like there’s not a war going on, and beingan adorable couple old ladies get to gush about as you both walk by.

- Optimus is a gentleman; whether he be a 20ft tall bot, ora man your size. He’ll open doors for you, pull out your chair, whatever he canto make you feel as precious as you are to him.

- The day ends with a long session of cuddling.

Smokescreen

- LET’S DO EVERYTHING!!!

- Be careful; he’s really excited to be your size, so expectto be picked up and hugged at random times. There’s also a lot more kissing involved than usual.

- You end up getting bridged to a park somewhere, and you both have one hell of a time. Chasing birds, acting like kids, cuddling in the grass; normal teenage couple shit.

- And if it’s possible, you also introduce him to ice cream. Poor fucker gets a brain freeze 8 seconds in.

- You and Smokey end up making out at least several times. He can’t really help himself; this is the first time you’ve been able to kiss without a massive size difference. Expect a few ass grabs here or there, too.

- Once you both get back, you’re equal amounts exhausted and relaxed; which is disturbing to the bots. They’ve never seen Smokescreen so relaxed.

- You end up falling asleep together. Miko takes hundreds of pictures.

Knockout

- Get in baby, we’re going shopping.

- You end up taken to the biggest Mall you can manage tofind, which ends up being one near a large city. It’s ginormous, flashy, andshiny; right up Knockout’s alley.

- You’re practically being dragged around as KO excitedlygoes on about what he can’t wait to see, and make you try on. He gets quite afew varying stares as you trudge through, struggling to keep up with him as hepractically speedwalks through the whole Mall.

- You end up being forced to try on several outfits. Nomatter what you say to him, Knockout refused to believe any of them weren’tperfect on you.

- All is not terrible, though, because you end up ending theday with gross amounts of affection.

Arcee

- You’re so excited! Meanwhile, Arcee keeps tripping over the high-heels in her new form.

- She looks bomb-ass, of course; your girlfriend looks like she could kill a bitch in style. But she can barely find her balance as it is. She’s used to weighing a lot more than 190 pounds.

- Even so, Arcee is more than excited to spend a day with you. But if you had anything extravagant planned, sucks for you; she’d much rather just spend a day cuddling and watching the clouds with you. So, you(reluctantly)settle for a picnic in the middle of nowhere.

- You end up introducing Arcee to the magic that is your favorite dessert.The little look of awe on her face made your week.

- All-in-all, it’s pretty relaxing. You get to chill out with your girlfriend, kiss a few times, and spend time together. That’s all you could ever want in the middle of a war.
