I have a fantastic update about Maram!
If you haven't been following her story, Maram is a 26 year old Palestinian woman currently living with her 3 sons (9, 7, and 4 years) in Gaza, who's lives have been ravaged by the Isreali occupation and bombings, which destroyed their home. Since then, she has been scraping by on donations to her campaign (linked here), scrounging in any way a mother can to provide for her family; without the stable income, housing, food or medicine that they need.
Over the last week, thanks to your donations and reblogs, Maram was able to raise the full $600 for her youngest son Ziad's surgery! She's shared that Ziad has had his procedure, is feeling much better for it; and he's expected to make a full recovery! I cannot overstate how happy and grateful I am to everyone who has helped. The situation in Gaza is an unacceptable standard of living for all, and even surviving is a daily challenge. This one family now has one less element of suffering to bare, and that is no small thing.
At time of writing, Maram is currently $4,657 away from her full campaign goal of $30,000. I thought, if we could raise $600 in a week and a half, think what more we could do for this family in a month, or two months, just by giving what we can or sharing to those who can instead!
For the foreseeable future, I'm going to continue doing free sketch requests for donaters who send me proof of transaction to Maram's campaign. If you donate anything $1 and over, you can request anything you like! I will draw for any fandom, OC's, or even real life friends / family! For a donation of $15+ I will add flat colors, and the higher the donation the more detail / time I will put into your piece. Here's what you can expect from these sketches:
Please, if you have donated before, or never donated to any mutual aid funds--I urge you to donate now. No matter if you want my art or not, it goes to a great cause to support an impoverished family who is struggling to make ends meet in the midst of a genocide. I've spoken to Maram, and she is unendingly kind and humble, grateful for every penny someone has to give, and simply wants a good life for her children. Even $1 can go a long way to help this family's daily struggle!
if you aren't best friends with your lover and a little bit in love with all your friends than what's the fucking point
Yaknow, it's no easy thing to love and provide for others when you're not even able to provide for yourself.
Maram is a 26 year old mother from Gaza, who is currently facing the horrific conditions of war under the Palestinian genocide, and trying desperately to protect her 3 children (9, 7 and 4 years) from the brunt of the atrocities that come with it.
Currently, Maram is ONLY $5,549 away from her $30,000 campaign goal (which is linked here), to pay off her many debts left by the war and to continue providing for her family. Today, she's specifically asking for $600 to get her youngest, Ziad, a much needed surgery on May 3rd.
$600 is NOT a large amount of money in terms of crowd funding. If even half my followers each donated only $3, she would be at this goal. If not, Ziad's surgery will need to be delayed again, and the injury on his young hand is only likely to get worse without treatment. You can make an incredible difference in one person and one families life, with even a small amount of money. I implore you to please donate whatever you can. Seriously imagine being 4 years old, and needing to worry about debt, where your next meal is coming from, whether your injury will be healed or not, or if you will even have your shelter tomorrow. It's ridiculously unfair.
Hello, I am offering free quick doodle requests (basic sketch) to anyone who donates to this cause and shares the proof of transaction with me until May 4th, any amount over $1+. Please support this family in their difficult time.
