OMG 😡😤😫😭 look at which of the two swords is the one that is breaking, I swear that thing is cursed at this point and they’re better of leaving it home. This is what? The third time?
I was rereading chapter 235 of 4kota and did anyone notice this? Ysaye refers to Tristan’s grandfather instead of Father when explaining full counter.
this is either:
A translation error or general mistake
ysaye actually referring to Bartra or the Demon King, which seems extremely unlikely, but would be hilarious in a way
the story about Tristan’s parentage already got this garbled in 20 ish years to the point that even Tristan’s son doesn’t know the truth.
And I know that I have already speculated in a previous post about how little Ysaye may know about his own family/heritage, but I feel like he should know more. Everyone in Liones and Camelot knows by now that Meliodas the demon and Elizabeth the goddess had Tristan together and that full counter is meliodas’s move etc..I mean Isolde (presumably the mother) definitely knows this. So in the scenario that Ysaye is actually mistaken about this, why doesn’t he know the truth? Even if he never met Tristan there should have been plenty of people that know this shit. Who raised him? Who is he serving under as knight? If it’s Arthur then he also should be able to tell ysaye this stuff. I hope this is a simple mistake on part of the author/translator, because that makes the most sense to me story wise.
ok, some spoilers for chapter 241
in the newest chapter it is revealed that ysaye is aware and in control of his demon blood, so we can forget my more dramatic theorizing about how aware he is of his heritage (I have one previous post with some wild theorizing about what if ysaye doesn’t know about his demon heritage) and I am continuing under the assumption that this is a mistake by Nakaba or something, which I was already planning on doing, but I feel like the newest chapter back it up. Though officially we didn’t get any proof either way, they didn’t mention full counter or anything.

I still think Elizabeth should have been the one to kill the Supreme Deity idgaf
They give her this badass speech just to portray her as a damsel in distress the next secong? KNOWING she can beat ass?
Still love, LOVE Cursed by light tho <3
and I mean, I get the movie was about Meliodas and Zeldris' brotherhood, but I think It was only fair that the battle against her was at least Meliodas and Elizabeth instead of Meliodas and Zeldris, or at least the killing blow
having a homoerotic sword fight with my rival but then she starts talking about her ideals and i have to stop and pull out a thesis paper on the shallowness of her ideology and how weak her sociopolitical analysis is
How would the knights of the holy grail react to Tristan using is demon powers? The grail knights have (I believe) only seen Tristan use his goddess magic and are also convinced the 4kota are imposters. Between the existence of the druids and who even knows what happened to all the members of the goddess clan (are they back returned to their bodies after the cursed by light movie?) an imposter being able to use goddess magic is not unthinkable, but Tristan is literally the only being in existence who can use both goddess and demon powers so what would happen if he demonstrates that? It should be pretty solid, hard to fake evidence that they are who they say they are.
I have also made an earlier post talking about how ysaye talks about Tristan like he has never met him, so if that is the case we can also speculate whether Tristan’s son even knows about his demon heritage. But now we’re in the territory of wild speculation with no real evidence either way.
The Supreme Deity and Demon King trying to break melizabeth up with the curse but accidentally created something stronger than soulmates
They really did shoot themselves in the foot so badly. I mean has acting cruelly and setting yourself up as an enemy to unite against ever worked out strategically? But also melizabeth were not motivated to try to kill either the demon king or the supreme deity if only because they didn’t think it was possible, but the curse (and everything else they did) forced them to try.
Does Zeldris know about the origins of the seven deadly sins?
I mean in s1 the 7ds supposedly being a group of horrible criminals was a big plot point, but in s2 they were heroes again and Liones had much bigger problems so it wasn’t mentioned much anymore. Which is a shame because I thought it was very interesting, but also makes a lot of sense. However it does leave me wondering wether Zeldris ever heard that story or if he is under the impression that the 7ds are and have always been unproblematic heroes and defenders of Britannia.
“what radicalized you” bro EMPATHY
"what radicalized you" well in kindergarten they told me to share things and be nice to people.
2 things that I wish to see in nnt/4kota that I know are never going to happen:
Meliodas and Elizabeth fighting a group of enemies back to back and being so in sync with each other that it look looks more like they are dancing.
Meliodas getting severely hurt/almost dying and Elizabeth completely losing it in response (on a similar level to Meliodas at Danafor), because he has always been immortal and she never had to face living in a world without him

XKCD: Degree Off
Never Forget what Childhood Vaccines and Antibiotics have done.
The two most powerful words in the English language, owed entirely to the efficacy of vaccines, are thus;
“Smallpox was.”
For most of history, smallpox was (!!!) the scourge that haunted human civilisations. We have evidence of smallpox from mummies c. 1350BCE in Egypt. It’s speculated to be one of causative agents of the Plague of Athens c. 430BCE. There were outbreaks of smallpox in Angola in 1484, in South Africa in 1731 that wiped out entire clans of Khoisan people. There was at least one major smallpox epidemic almost every decade across Europe.
Smallpox was transmitted by droplet/aerosol infection; it tore through even the smallest population centres. Typical smallpox incurred a blistering fever, raised pustules, debilitating joint and back pain; if you lived — and that was a fat fucking if, as typical smallpox had a mortality rate of 30% — you’d have tell-tale pockmark scarring, and face stigma for the rest of your life. Some were left blinded.
The worst form of the disease was haemorrhagic smallpox; all the agony of typical smallpox, with the addition of skin haemorrhage and pinpoint haemorrhage in the spleen, liver, kidneys and gonads. Near-universally fatal, haemorrhagic smallpox made up 5-10% of all cases. Of this number, 72% were children.
The global smallpox vaccination campaigns of 1958 to 1977 were a monumental effort by the World Health Organization and its global associates, backed by incredibly diligent public health work and epidemiological monitoring.
Wherever there were outbreaks, there was herd immunisation. Health bodies campaigned tirelessly for the general population to be immunised. In the ‘70s, a concerted effort was made by the WHO to ensure vaccines were administered in the most remote and vulnerable communities in the Horn of Africa, South Asia and the Pacific.
In 1980, the world was officially, finally free of one of it’s oldest adversaries; universal vaccination had been achieved, and there was no population that could act as a reservoir for smallpox.
If mankind has only one great achievement, it’s the smallpox vaccine; to date, smallpox is the only human disease to be completely eradicated.
After over two millennia of suffering, mass disability and death, humanity finally had the means to give one of it’s biggest threats the biggest possible fuck you, and through scientific and public health collaboration, careful epidemiological monitoring and countless hours of on-the-ground vaccination efforts, managed to blot it from existence entirely.
Where there is vaccine coverage, childhood diseases with high morbidity and mortality rates like whooping cough, diphtheria, influenza B and have dropped.
We have vaccines for TB, another of our greatest and longest adversaries.
With enough effort to counter misinformation, more people fighting for vaccine equality, patent free medication for communicable disease, and universal vaccine coverage, and everyone making sure to keep up to date with their vaccinations, one day, we could be fortunate enough to be able to say;
“Tuberculosis was.”
“Smallpox was.”
Fuck. That hit me hard.
death and the stars
I'm quite fond of the heroes of my field have slain one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse
One of my friends was a university lecturer who had worked in the lab where the final smallpox case escaped from a lab and killed Janet Parker, a medical photographer who worked in the room upstairs. He was a very funny man, always "on", but once a year when he taught the lecture about smallpox and about 'swiss cheese' risk management, he looked like a dead man walking.
Important rules for the "age verification" era of the internet that we're living in:
1. Do not do age verification.
2. If you have to do age verification, cheat. Do not under any circumstances give them your real ID.
The tool presents users with a 3D model they can then manipulate to, the creator says, bypass Discord's age verification system.
Oh no I dropped my link, what a horrible thing! Sure hope this doesn't get reblogged until it reaches users from the UK and Brazil!
And remember to not make a second account just to test out what works best when verifying your identity
A reminder that we still dont support Age Verification bullshit.
@simandy
HAH! Yes! It is I! The token Brazilian!
Use the sims 4 (free game) to create an older person to bypass this shit. Use alpha custom content and make it believable.
Use o the sims 4 (jogo grátis) pra criar uma pessoa velha pra ignorar essa merda. Use conteúdos alpha pra ficar mais realista.
That's it good night everyone 🇧🇷👊🏼👊🏼💙✨️
What if oxygen is poisonous and it just takes 75-100 years to kill us?
My science teacher said he thinks that’s true actually
Yeah this is actually pretty much exactly what is going on. It’s why anti-oxidants are such a big deal. Bonus fact: oxygen oxidizes stuff in your cells or, in other words, it’s not toxic, just setting you on fire very very slowly.
What if there are aliens out there but they subsist on entirely different substances and they’re just scared as shit of us and our crazy ass hell planet? Once in a while some alien anthropologist type suggests checking out the people on this inhabited planet out towards the galaxy’s edge. The other aliens just look at the naive academic with horror. No!! We do not go to that world. That is where the DEATH BREATHERS live. They recreationally consume poisons and are more or less composed of biological fire. Their atmosphere is made of rocket fuel. We must leave the DEATH BREATHERS in peace. Do not go there. Do not.
I tend to always reblog posts about humans being terrifying weirdos to aliens.
@brainsforbabyjesus
okay but…that is actually what went down on earth about 2.5 billion years ago.
Earth was doing just fine with a mostly nitrogen/carbon dioxide atmosphere and everyone was happy to go on living in anaerobic bliss and then cyanobacteria suddenly hit the scene, altered the atmosphere composition so that there was a ton of oxygen gas and killed practically everything (97% or more of all species on earth).
We are literally descendants of the DEATH BREATHERS and cyanobacteria is our deadly mother.
The cyanobacteria holocaust is so big, it doesn’t even have a cool name; it’s just called “The Great Oxygenation Event”; the *second* most apocalyptic extinction event in our planet’s history is the one that’s called THE GREAT DYING (the Permian-Triassic event, about 252 million years ago).
This shit makes like the rock-throwing that wiped out the dinosaurs look like kindergarten.
OH HOW I LOVE THIS POST. It makes me so much happier about being alive. I AM BURNING VERY SLOWLY. *hugs it*
And once again, the internet makes learning history and science a thousand times more interesting than school ever did.
I love shit like this.
I was totally having thoughts along these lines and along comes tumblr to pretty much sum it all up. Bravo~
