hey y'all. i don't want to be that person... but a third of all senate seats and all 435 house seats are up for regular election literally every midterm and presidential election year. you should rightfully be motivated to vote, but you should be this motivated every 2 years as long as we're using this democratic system of government.

i am not a "vooooote" person, but you should be aware that this is not something unique or new or just a quirk for 2024.

and also... you should still care who wins the presidency. because if a fascist takes office, they're not going to abide by whatever congress says anyway. especially if it's the one we're all thinking about. he will wield absolute authority to do whatever the fuck he wants.

i say this with a sense of caution because i'm not convinced he'll be on the ballot. but if he is... then yeah, you should definitely still care about who winds up as president. your feelings (and mine) about Joe Biden be damned, you need to ask yourself if you're prepared for a Trump presidency with no prescribed end date and free reign to do literally whatever he wants. i'm not telling you what to do. i'm simply reminding you of the consequences of being able to vote for, or not vote for, whomever you choose.
