In the past few hours, your modest apartment had turned into chaos. At least a dozen people had knocked on your door seeking help, intoxicated by something you hadn’t seen in years.
They could barely fit into the small living room, which also served as your kitchen and bedroom, waiting for you to help them, coughing out toxic fumes. Everyone expected you, just as your father had done in the past, to help or offer a solution, but you were completely lost, fumbling with medical supplies that had been stored away for years.
"The gray," murmured an older woman who was holding her husband as he struggled to breathe.
"That’s impossible," you replied. "We haven’t had problems with that in years, the ventilation system..."
"Then there must be a leak," she interrupted, raising her voice before a violent cough cut her off. You watched as her hand was splattered with blood. She inhaled deeply before continuing, "I’ve been through this before, but we don’t have the years on us anymore. Your father treated it countless times. Doesn’t he have notes somewhere?"
You sighed in defeat. "I’ve lost most of Dad’s things over the years. All I have left is what you see." You placed the stethoscope on a child’s back to listen to his breathing. "There’s nothing I can do. We just have to wait for the lungs to clean themselves... and stay far from the leak."
A collective groan arose from the people packed into your small space. "And how are we supposed to do that? We live there! Where can we go?" Various complaints began to rise.
"I wish I had an answer for you, but I don’t. We just have to wait until they repair the leak."
"They’re not going to fix it! It’s those damn enforcers! They’re killing us to get to Jinx!" Another wave of murmurs rippled through the room.
You tried to remain calm. Could that be true? Were the people above really capable of poisoning everyone just to catch Jinx? Those above had taken so much from you already that it seemed entirely plausible. But then an image came to mind—Violet. She was in Piltover now, and she would never let this happen, not to the place that had been her home for so many years and still was yours. Right?
You continued your work, trying to calm the rebellion brewing in your living room, tending to the most severe cases of nosebleeds and eye hemorrhages. But there wasn’t much more you could do. Around three in the morning, the last person finally left.
Exhausted, you collapsed onto your bed, utterly defeated. Chances were, all the patients you’d seen today would return tomorrow with new symptoms. It was impossible to recover from the gray while constantly exposed to it. You knew that if it was a crack, it would take years to fix. And if it was intentional, if they were hunting Jinx... that would also take time. There was no way they’d catch her.
A knock on the door kept you from falling completely asleep. You cursed under your breath—new patients. Your father’s voice echoed in your mind, reminding you how he wouldn’t rest until he’d helped the last person who needed him. You repeated the phrase to yourself before getting up to answer the door, only to be met with a great surprise.
Vi stood there, but the most shocking thing was her outfit. She was dressed as a full-fledged officer, an enforcer. You couldn’t suppress a gasp of utter disbelief. You had spent years of your life together; you knew her story as well as your own, and never would you have imagined the possibility of her wearing something like that—not even as a joke.
"I’m truly surprised," you murmured. She scoffed in irritation. You stepped aside to let her in, and she dropped her new, heavy gloves onto your floor. You bit your lip to keep from scolding her.
The past few days had been madness: Vi’s return, the search for Jinx, and your responsibilities trying to honor your father’s legacy had left you with barely a moment to breathe.
"Lots of patients?" she asked, trying to start a conversation.
"Too many," you replied, collapsing onto the bed again. She still stood awkwardly in the middle of the room. "You can lie down if you want... Unless you’re scared of dirtying that pretty uniform." She let out a short laugh before lying down next to you.
"I’ve barely seen you since you came back... I don’t think I ever got to tell you how happy I am that you’re here... Despite everything."
"Yeah, I suppose the first hug you gave me said it all."
"I mean it, Vi," you said, turning to face her. "Everything got so hard, but now you’re here, and I feel like things will get better."
She smiled faintly. "Yeah, we just have to fix a few things, and everything will improve." She propped herself up to sit beside you. "You look really pretty," she added. "Those dark circles suit you."
You couldn’t help but laugh. For just a moment, all the bad things disappeared. It was just the two of you in your small apartment—no Jinx, no gray, no problems in the Lanes. Just you two. Without thinking, you leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to her lips. She froze for a moment.
"I thought you missed me," she teased.
"I did."
"That’s not a reunion kiss. This is." Without warning, she leaned over and kissed you deeply. You welcomed her eagerly—it was like a breath of fresh air, something rare where you’d grown up. The kisses grew more intense, and your hands wandered over her torso and back. Vi positioned herself on top of you, using her hand for support on your pillow. But she quickly pulled it back.
"What’s this?" she asked.
You looked to the side, confused, and saw a large bloodstain. You hadn’t even noticed it. You sighed. "I’m really sorry." You sat up slightly, but Vi didn’t move off you. You grabbed the pillow and threw it to the other side of the room. "It’s been such a complicated day with the ventilation cracks."
"Yeah, don’t worry. I’m not at my best, either."
"Doesn’t seem like it." You kissed her intensely again, and she adjusted immediately.
"When all this is over, we should go on a real date. Like dinner and all that cheesy stuff."
You laughed against her lips at her failed attempt at romance. "I just hope it’s soon."
"It will be," she declared confidently. "Once they catch Jinx, everything will get better, and life in the Lanes will change—just like Vander always wanted."
Vi’s hands slipped under your shirt as you shared another passionate kiss, but her words lingered in your mind.
"Wait, wait, no," you said, pushing her slightly so she moved off you.
"Oh, do you want to take control, doll?" she teased.
"Did you have anything to do with this?" She looked confused, so you pushed her again to sit beside you. "The gas? Was it you?"
Vi stayed silent, hesitant to answer.
"Is this some kind of joke? You’re poisoning us just to catch your sister?" you shouted, furious.
"Hey, hey, it’s not like that... I mean, yes, but not how you think."
"You bitch," you spat, jumping out of bed. "Do you even understand the damage you’ve caused?"
"Listen to me. We used the gray to clear the streets, to keep people safe," she tried to explain.
"Used? Who’s ‘we’? You and your new enforcer friends? Well, you didn’t protect anyone!" You exploded. "Do you have any idea how many people you hurt? At least fifty came here today!"
"She’s a murderer! She killed half the council, she—"
"She’s not a traitor," you cut her off sharply.
The room fell silent as you watched Vi clench her fists in anger. You’d struck a nerve.
"Did you really do this for her? Or did your new enforcer friend convince you?" you spat, unable to hide your disgust.
"Don’t call her that!" Vi’s hands grabbed the collar of your shirt, pushing you against the wall.
You stayed inches apart for what felt like ten seconds before she let go, though she didn’t step back. Her heavy breathing mixed with yours, and you could smell the perfume from her uniform—a scent impossible to find down here.
"Get out of my house," you whispered.
"You have to understand—"
"Get out!"
Vi sighed loudly, grabbed her heavy gloves from the floor, and walked to the door. You opened it for her, stepping aside. She crossed the threshold without meeting your gaze but stopped in the doorway.
"I hope your new friend is worth it." She didn’t turn around, just kept walking down the dark street, away from your home.
You couldn’t stop the tears from falling.
What had you expected? Nothing had stayed the same over the years.
You locked the door before collapsing into bed. Tomorrow would be another hard day in the Lanes.

He was there, just a few meters away, but he didn’t seem like himself. He didn’t look like him, didn’t sound like him, and didn’t even smell the same. He was simply unrecognizable.
Vi’s heavy hand rested on your shoulder, pulling you out of your thoughts. You looked at her, searching for answers, but she only stared at the massive creature lying on the ground.
“Are you sure it’s…”
“Completely.” Vi didn’t let you finish your question. She released your shoulder and approached the giant, who lay asleep a few meters away. She gently touched its back. The beast stirred uncomfortably, but upon seeing the young woman, it relaxed. “I have no doubt.”
You stepped closer, slowly, afraid your approach might alert the massive being, but it kept its back turned.
“Just look at him, and you’ll understand.”
The creature hunched over, trying to appear smaller (an impossible feat), and took a cautious step forward. You stepped back, which made him freeze in place.
Finally, the immense creature turned, and you saw him. He wasn’t how you remembered. He didn’t look like the man you’d fallen in love with in the Lanes, the one you’d shared most of your life with, built a family with. But without a doubt, it was him.
“Vander?”
Your mind raced, struggling to comprehend everything that was happening—how your husband, the man who had died years ago, was now back in a body that wasn’t his own.
You remained silent, unable to respond. Your brain kept trying to process everything, but no answer came. Vi, still enraged, was about to say something else when a loud snort stopped her.
Seeing that you wouldn’t come closer, Vi stepped in again.
“I know he looks different, but I swear, this is Vander. He remembers us.”
“How is this possible?”
“We’re not sure, but you have to trust me.”
“I searched for his body for months. I didn’t… I didn’t find anything—”
“That doesn’t matter anymore!” Vi snapped, furious. “He’s here now. We can help him; we can bring Vander back! How can you not be happy?”
The massive creature that had once been your husband took another step in your direction, but this time, you didn’t back away, so he kept advancing. Panic gripped your chest with every step he took, the fear that touching him would wake you up in your apartment, drenched in tears.
When he finally reached you, he lifted one of his enormous hands and gently brushed your cheek, wiping away the tears that had begun to stream uncontrollably.
“Is this real?” You looked into his eyes. “Please,” you begged. “I don’t want to wake up.”
Vander didn’t dare touch you again, fearing you might run away, but you couldn’t stand it any longer. You buried yourself in his chest. He hesitated for a moment but finally wrapped one massive arm around you, lowering his face to your head and inhaling deeply.
“You’re real,” you murmured through your sobs, unable to believe it.
“I’m here,” he said in a deep voice, squeezing you gently with the arm that held you close.

Summary: You thought it would be fun to borrow your boyfriend's clothes, but it seems kind of inconvenient for a mission.
"Baby, have you seen my suit?"
You heard Ekko's voice from the room, but you didn't pay much attention to it as you continued modeling in front of the mirror. You lowered the mask that rested on your head to cover your face and continued posing ignoring your boyfriend's complaints from the other room.
Without giving it much importance, you also took the dark jacket that did not belong to you to complete the costume.
“Bang bang, Silco! I shit on you and your shimmer!” You made a makeshift gun with your fingers pointed at your reflection. You had to admit that with this new look you had much more menacing than with your usual clothes.
"You could have warned me that I don't need to keep looking" Ekko interrupted your show from the doorway, you stopped posing to look at him annoyed. "Come on baby, I need the jacket and the mask, we leave in fifteen." He approached you trying to take his mask but you dodged his hands.
"No," you complained. "I really like this new look. It makes me terrifying!" You shot him with your finger guns but he didn't flinch, he just continued with his hand outstretched, at his lack of reaction you rolled your eyes, you walked to the room with the individual following your steps, you took your own mask from the nightstand and handed it to him.
“Wha- no! I want my mask… And my coat!”
"Come on handsome, just this once." You lifted the material that covered your face so that you could look at him better. "I like that it has your scent." You smiled when you saw how the slightly dark red color rose on his face, although he managed to hide it a little because of the face paint he recently made.
"I don't have time for this, it's time to go." He tried to catch you but you dodged him again, laughing, climbing over the bed to put distance.
"Come on baby, it's for luck."
You let him get closer until he caught you around the waist to make sure you didn't run away again, you let yourself fall against him. You loved being close, in his arms, close enough to feel his breath. Without being able to contain yourself you brushed his lips lightly keeping the tip of your nose next to his, you would have stayed there an eternity if it wasn't because at the base of the tree half a dozen people were waiting.
"I'll give you luck," you told him "And I'll be glued to your back the whole mission until we get back home." You slid your hands from his shoulders to his inflated biceps "Also... I like how you look sleeveless."
He laughed helplessly. You glued your lips together again, this time staying that way longer.
"It's time to go princess" He freed your waist, for a moment you thought he would snatch the mask from you, but he simply lowered it on your face placing it in its correct place, you couldn't help but smile victoriously while he took the one that normally belonged to you.
You hurried down the trunk of the tree, seeing them, the others did not miss the opportunity to make mocking comments of their companions, but you did nothing but ignore them. You had won the battle, you had the coat and the mask, no matter what they said the rest.
"Fine, I need your attention," Ekko began, making the laughter stop. He unfolded a map of Zaun in the center of the round "This... Is the place where we suppose the people of Silco keep their reserves of shimmer." He kept a factory marked on the map that years ago had been dedicated to bottled water. "If we destroy it, we will be able to destabilize the entire shimmer market in the city…”
“How are we going to destroy all that? That building is huge,” your pink-haired friend asked.
"With Ekko we already studied the building," you said. "At first glance, it seems abandoned, but they keep everything underground, it's mega flammable, if we blow up a single barrel everything will explode to hell. The structure is old, everything will collapse."
"That place must be guarded as shit."
"That's why we're leaving now, in half an hour they change the guard and the terrace is left unattended for a few minutes, that's our window."
You looked at your friends waiting for confirmation, they all nodded in agreement, they had never pulled off such a big hit and if all went according to plan they could wobble the eye of Zaun from his tower.
Without further ado, everyone took their own boards, but when looking for yours you couldn't find it until you noticed your boyfriend who was holding both of them, you approached to claim yours but he picked it up leaving it out of your reach.
“Aren't you going to ask to use my board too?” Your smile hid behind the mask.
"No, that's exclusive... Like a toothbrush."
"Are toothbrushes exclusive?" He joked.
"Come on, I don't like yours, it's slow."
You took advantage of his distraction to snatch it from him, you also wanted to escape but he stopped you by holding your wrist. “Remember baby, behind me, you're my good luck charm.” You pulled your mask halfway up to lock your lips to hers again.
“Everything will be alright,” you promised. “We are going to overthrow that son of a bitch, he's going to pay for everything…”

Everything was kept in an unnatural stillness, you didn't even dare to breathe too hard, the only thing that interrupted that sepulchral silence was the endless murmur of the city. When a head barely poked through the door your partner landed on him hitting his head hard enough to knock him unconscious. You hurriedly moved the body out of the way and, with the help of your friend, immobilized its limbs in case it woke up.
With your eyes you looked for your boyfriend, who made a sign with his hand, no one else was going up, everything was going according to plan. You carefully slung your board on your back and they continued through the entrance, down the inconveniently noisy stairs.
Floor by floor, with extreme stealth they were knocking out the guards one by one, a building that was simply abandoned could not be so guarded by anything. As they continued to descend the anxiety grew, when you reached the door that connected to the underground you could almost taste the success.
"Evacuate the building," you ordered. "I'll take care of the rest."
It wasn't just the ultimate mission, it would be a crucial blow to the man who ruined your and your friends' lives, the beginning of the perfect revenge.
Before you could touch the doorknob, your boyfriend's hand stopped you. "I'm coming down with you."
“No,” you stated. “This is personal."

Ekko stared at you before giving in and helping the boy with his board, you decisively turned the knob and slammed the door open. You could barely see the bottom of the stairs, but a yellow label on a barrel seemed to glow in the dark.

The door to the outside slammed shut, leaving you completely in the dark. In a panic, you spun on your own axis trying to prevent the imminent attack but just at the same time a hard object hit you in the neck knocking you to the ground.
Everything felt far away, you were about to fall unconscious, but you knew that this would be your death sentence. The knocks on the outside door could be heard powerfully but it didn't seem to show signs of opening.
"He's the damned leader, Silco will pay us a fortune if we take his head to him." You managed to distinguish some distant voices that didn't come from your friends.
“How do you know who the leader is?”
“Look at his clothes, he is the same one who attacked one of the barons”
Shit, the clothes. You try to lift your head off the ground, but a foot quickly lands on top of you, knocking you back onto the concrete.
"And how do you propose we get out of here genius?"
"There's an emergency exit, it's not on the plans, I can go find Sevika and..."
The door shook with a loud bang but still couldn't see, you felt your face being pressed even harder against the ground.
“You can't leave me alone! If something happens to the shimmer we are dead!”
You growled, writhing on the ground, trying to escape the weight of the boot that seemed to seek to break your skull. Without you expecting it, a hand took your coat, lifting you from the ground with a jolt. You moved your hands quickly trying to hit your captor, but the difference in size was considerable, he took one of your fists and squeezed it in his hand. You screamed when you felt your bones crack.
"How many?" He asked you, you grunted again in response. His hand that had previously surrounded your hand wrapped around your neck, lifting your feet off the ground. "I want to see the faces of these idiots when they see how I broke their leader's neck."
You kicked in a futile attempt to free yourself, the lack of oxygen, the pain in your hand and head made thinking more difficult. But you were determined to live, you heard one more explosion against the door, you reached your good hand up your back to the switch on your board and when your eyelids felt heavy you activated it.
With an explosion your board lit up ready to fly, it didn't hurt anyone but it was enough to distract your captors. You kicked the one holding you in the stomach causing him to let go of you, unhooked your board from his back, and quickly hit the second one in the head knocking him to the ground.
You concentrated all your strength in your arms, you raised the heavy metal device to hit the one holding you off the ground in the face, leaving a fairly noticeable wound, your eyes focused on one of the barrels.

Taking advantage of the fact that your table was falling apart, you used one of its sharp parts to open one of the barrels, your face lit up by the purple glow that the thick liquid gave you. From the pocket of your jacket (or rather your boyfriend's) you took out a previously prepared string to dip it in the glitter but an arm wrapped around your neck dragged you backward.
"You're going to kill us all, you fucking asshole." You hit him in the stomach with your elbow and took advantage of the momentum to headbutt him, the back of your head protesting the blow but you continued anyway. With the explosions more people of Silco would come shortly, you didn't have time.
Hopefully you will reach the door before the basement catches fire and your friends will be protected during the explosion, with their boards they will have enough time to get out of there before it collapses.
With trembling hands, you took the lighter trying to create a stable flame, but it just sparked. You screamed in frustration, but the noise of your board shorting caught your attention, you had thrown it a few meters away, it was split into two throwing sparks from the damaged fans colliding with each other.

You stood at the back of the barrel, grabbed its edges, and with all your strength began to push it so that it spilled out. If you're lucky, you might reach the door before the shimmer catches the spark.

You were trying to hide your face with the hood. You were embarrassed to be seen going in here again, even after saying a dozen times that you would never come back. But they would know sooner or later anyway.
When you opened the door, a completely different atmosphere surrounded you, as if that pleasant, but dangerous, heat would tell you which was the right path.
As you walked to the bar, your hands began to itch and your entire body went on alert as if anticipating what was about to happen.

I need a Vander in my life, URGENTLY
It wasn't part of the plan, but here you were again, not knowing where else to go. You carefully pushed the door of “The Last Drop”, there were barely a handful of people at the back tables, it was about to close.
"It's closed" You looked at the bar where Vander was cleaning some glasses, seeing that it was you, your gaze hardened even more "I thought I was clear, I don't want you to come back here"
Your heart clenched in pain, but you still walked to sit in one of the chairs at the bar. Vander went to one of the tables to finish getting two drunkards out of there, finally locking the door.
"Do you have any idea how dangerous your presence is here?"
"I know, I just ..."
"Well, it seems you don't know!" You stayed in silence, shrinking in your chair "A war is about to break out and the best idea you have is to go down?"
"I didn't know where else to go!" You despaired, tired of hearing screams wherever you went, people seemed to complicate themselves to make you feel even more miserable. You rested your arms on the clean bar and rested your head there, fatigue was winning over you, although you weren't sure if it was a good place to rest. "It is not my intention to bother you, I just don't know what else to do, where to run to"
Vander sighed loudly before resuming his place behind the counter, you heard the noise of some bottles colliding with each other, until finally a glass of sediment in front of your head "It will help you sleep a few hours" He explained "Tomorrow first thing in the morning I will accompany you to the bridge and you will return home"
He drank his glass in a single pull, you continued looking at him from your place "Are they really going to fight?" You dared to ask. His whole body tensed, he did not look at you, he simply poured one of the half-empty bottles "Let me stay, please" You begged.
"No" He interrupts you "Finish the glass and go to sleep"
"Please I beg you"
"I have said no!" His fist hit the bar and you shook completely, he seemed to realize that so he softened "I don't understand why you always insist on coming back here" He sighed "A war is about to break out, against those above, against your people ... I don't want you in the crossfire "
"Precisely" You walked around the bar to be at his side "Let me stay here, with you" You stretched out your hand to take his,
Vander's were obviously much larger, plus they were full of marks and scars, you saw him hesitate for a moment, but he let go of your grip.
"And after that?! Will we live here? Will we get married? What will happen when you get tired of this place? When you no longer want to breathe the air down here? ... Could you see our children grow up in a place where they are only seen as potential criminals? "
"I thought you were fighting for that to change. That's what it's about!"
"What if it doesn't work?" There was silence. "What will happen if we lose ...? After that it will be more difficult to cross the borders, more difficult for you to return home. Even if we win, this is not your life, I'm not made for you "
You walked in doubt as you approached him, afraid that he would push you away. Very carefully you wrapped your arms around his waist supporting your head on his back. For a moment her whole body tensed, but when she felt you kiss tenderly her back relaxed.
"I want to be by your side, no matter where" One of his arms moved, believing that he would push you away, you hugged him tighter, evidently if he wanted to, he could easily let go of you, but he only took one of your hands to bring it to his lips .
"I also want to be with you baby, but I don't want you to wake up one day and regret this ... About me"
You released your hug so that he could face, he still kept a hand close "I could never regret choosing you" You caressed his cheek "No matter what, if I am next to you, I will know that it is the right decision"
Summary: It is difficult to take care of four children, especially when they are going through adolescence, but even your husband will not be able to escape on a special day.

"Today is Wednesday. Do you know what that means?"
The four children looked at you from the basement, where they spent most of their free time... They were either here or doing who knows what on the streets of the lanes.
"Today is bathing day!" Their faces fell remarkably, you couldn't understand their fear of taking a shower, it was the most beautiful feeling in the world. Even the overwhelming dirt of the lanes would not be an excuse for your family to walk around filthy.
"Let's go! It will be fun! Don't you miss feeling clean?" There was a great silence. Apparently, your optimism was not very contagious. But you ignored it. "Very good... Who will be the first volunteer?"
Mylo jumped off the couch and ran to the small window at the top end of the room, his only exit to the street — or so he thought... You watched him struggle to open the window. "It's closed," you said. "I've noticed you have a lot of energy boy, you will be my first volunteer!"
Powder couldn't contain her laughter and a mocking smile.
"You're next." You pointed to the little blue-haired girl who changed her expression to a grimace.
"I thought we only had a bath day on Monday," Vi complained. She and Claggor were the ones who brought you the least problems, so you never had to chase them around the undercity to get them to shower, but they were equally reluctant to the idea.
"They also ate on Monday, I don't see why they would eat again yesterday and today," you replied.
"Tomorrow I'll get dirty again, it doesn't make sense," Mylo tried to convince you.
"Bathroom. Now,” you demanded, his shoulders dropping in disappointment. You put a hand on his shoulder and led him to the bathroom, but not before closing the basement door, you knew that tricky boy very well.
"Well, do it fast and well.." You handed him a towel. "Remember that others have to bathe too."
"I can do it fast or do it well, I'm not sure I can handle both," he said. Maybe it was the face you expressed to him, but he ended up shutting his mouth and stepping into the bathroom.
"And make sure you wash behind your ears, I'll check on you when you come out!" You yelled at him through the door. "And don't make faces at me," you scolded him.
You had been living with the children for too many years, they were practically your children. You had been there for the arrival of the four of them and together with Vander, you had made an effort to take care of them and give them what they needed to survive in the undercity.
You walked to the bar, there were not many people at this time, your husband could take care of himself. Still, you walked along the counter looking for a cute rubber duck you found the other day and left there in your haste, maybe it would make little Pow's shower time more enjoyable.
"Mission accomplished?" From the other end of the bar, Vander asked you.
"One out of four," you said. "There is still a lot of work to do." You hopped when you found the damned duck.
"Maybe you should leave them," your husband suggested. "They are children, nothing will happen if they do not bathe one day"
You looked at him in disbelief. Was he on their side?
"You're kidding, right?" You frowned, hit the duck strongly on the bar making him yelp. "Because if you're not, I might get too angry."
"What? No, wait… I'm just saying that it wouldn't hurt anyone if you let 'Bath Wednesday' go by…"
You sighed loudly, the last thing you needed was a rebellion in your own home. You walked to your husband holding the duck in your hand. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him close, you quickly pecked his lips making him smile, but when he leaned in to kiss you again, you pulled your head away.
"My bath Wednesday also includes you, my love..." You ran your fingers over the nape of his neck, gently tangling the longer hair. "Unless you want to sleep on the sofa, in that case, Mr. Duck will accompany me tonight."
Vander tried to kiss you again but you put the little doll in his way by making him kiss it.
You let go of his hands that were resting on your waist and you returned the way you came. You heard him laugh softly, but you did not turn around. By the time you got to the bathroom, Mylo was on his way out.
"It wasn't so terrible was it?" You teased, he let out a sarcastic laugh. Before he could predict it you took his ear and stretched him to where you said you would check if he had washed there good.
"Nothing better than a job well done," you kissed him on the cheek as a congratulation and let him go.
You went back to the basement to look for the small group, but you only found Vi and Claggor playing cards.
"Where is your sister?" You asked the pink-haired one, she just shrugged nonchalantly, covering her up.
"Oh Powder, I hope you have not gone too far!" You spoke into the air, you were sure that she was still in the room. So you closed all the exits, if she had escaped she would've had to pass through the Last Drop. "Come on Powder, I don't have time for this, I even got you a toy!" You tried to convince her. "One that is impossible to explode... I hope..."
You knew her taste for creating artifacts, which almost always exploded, except explosives, those seemed reluctant to do their job.
Mylo came in behind you and with an elbow, he told you to look at the ceiling, you saw the little girl hanging from one of the braces, trying to hide from your gaze.
"Come on, let me find you, come down now."
You saw her hesitantly come down from her hiding place. "It's not fair," she grumbled. "Mylo told you where I was!"
"Of course not," you lied, although you saw how Vi hit Mylo's arm for being a snitch. "Mr. Duck wants to bathe, let's go with him." And you handed her the toy that she was looking at with curiosity, surely at night it would be drawn with different fluorescent colors.
You looked for a clean change of clothes and a towel before letting her into the bathroom. She could do it alone the most, she just needed some help to properly wash her hair. When you left you kissed her wet head, smelling clean, making you happy.
Getting back to the basement, Claggor was already at the door with a towel in his hand, you thanked him with a squeeze on the shoulder.
You saw Powder sit next to her sister, who started braiding her hair while Mylo stuck out his tongue trying to irritate her.
"It wasn't that bad, was it?" You ran your fingers through Mylo's wet hair. The two freshly bathed hummed instead of answering, you looked at Vi who finished her sister's hair and your gaze couldn't help but fixate on her bandages full of dirt and blood, you looked in the back drawer to find some new ones — you tossed at her. She looked at you, then put them aside.
"These are still good" She tried to justify.
"No way, your knuckles are still bruised from doing god knows what, if you keep those you will get infected."
She looked at the current bandages again now with doubt. You were sure she didn't want to change them so as not to "waste" a new pair of these, but it was completely necessary.
Claggor came in drying his hair, Vi quickly slipped into the bathroom without taking the new pair of bandages. You took them and followed her quickly behind, just before the door closed you put your foot in.
With a sigh, the stubborn girl opened the door completely.
"I don't need them," she insisted. "I can wash the ones I have, they will be as good as new. The others will get damaged as quickly and when we need them there will be no more," she complained.
"You are the one who is damaged now, you need them. Take it," you demanded. You saw her look at the ground indecisively. "You must take care of yourself first to be able to take care of the rest," you gently took her chin making her look at you. "Everything is fine, use them without remorse."
With a snort, she tried to close the bathroom door but you interposed again. "Wait ... Give me the ones you have on."
The young girl rolled her eyes but finally unwrapped the old strips of cloth that were wrapped around her hands and a part of her arms.
You stepped out of the way and she closed the door for privacy. Somehow you understood her, you had had to deprive yourself of many things to give the others at home, but she was still a child, it bothered you terribly that she should worry about that from this age. Your little Violet had matured too quickly.
Somewhat discouraged, you went to the last drop, where Vander was talking to Benzo and a little white head was poking out at his barely visible side. You circled the counter to approach them with a new victim in mind.
"Hi boys," you greeted them innocently. You noticed the disapproval in Vander's gaze, knowing what you had in mind but you ignored it. "Ekko, I need a strong boy to help me with some things. Do you think you could help me?"
The eyes of the smallest one sparkled, they used to treat him like a child constantly and when you flattered him in that way made him feel extremely important. Puffing out his chest he nodded his head quickly. You winked at Benzo, who only laughed.
You turned around with the child following you, you took a couple of basic Powder's outfits, you doubted that the clothes of the adults would fit and you passed them to him. He looked at you confused, but he did not question. When he reached the entrance of the bathroom Vi came out with new bandages on.
"Just in time," you cheered. Ekko looked at you confused again, but before he realized your plan you pushed him to the bathroom and closed the door "Let me know if you need help honey, I'll be close."
A muffled complaint was heard behind the door but finally, the falling water covered them.
Pleased, you returned to your workstation, where the two men continued talking.
"Are you planning to bathe all the kids in the lanes?" Your husband joked.
"For now I'll take care of those close to me, that includes you dear." You kissed his lips quickly before going to one of the tables, you heard Benzo make fun of him, which made you smile.
Summary: Mornings are exhausting but not boring, especially when you have Vander as a husband and four worried children.

Note 2: I really like writing about this family with a reader, from what I could see "Bath time" was very well received, I hope this part is also to your liking.
You had sensed it since last night, from the moment you laid your head on the pillow and a slight annoying itch in your throat. It was the first sensation when you opened your eyes in the morning but multiplied by a hundred. You closed your eyes tightly again trying to contain a groan. If Vander found out that you had gotten sick you'd have to admit that he was right when he told you to bundle up and you'd never tell him that he was right.
Although the lack of snoring next to you gives you the signal that he was already awake.
"You don't have to pretend to be asleep," he told you calmly. "You were complaining all night, that's because you didn't listen to me."
You rolled your eyes, sometimes he seemed more like a mother than your husband, you turned your body to face him. He was sitting against the head of the bed. He had those glasses that he only used when they were alone while looking at a book, you couldn't help biting your lower lip. Even over the years, he was still incredibly attractive.
You moved his arm around you so you'd be able to rest your head on his chest, he let you settle in before approaching to leave a kiss on your head.
"What time is it?" You asked with a bit of difficulty.
"It must be around ten o'clock," he murmured, continuing his reading. These moments of quiet intimacy between you were increasingly rare. On a normal morning, he`d be up and ready for the next errand, if it wasn't for the children it was for the bar and but for someone who came to Vander for help. So you should take advantage of these little "leaks'' as much as you can.
"Haven't you read that book?" You had barely paid attention to the letters to recognize the text, you had seen it at least a dozen times in his hands, in his spare time when the Last Drop was empty.
"It's the only one that does not have fluorescent scribbles," he replied simply, "and you gave it to me on our third anniversary." You looked at it in surprise, not even you remembered that detail. You sank him again, this time closer to his neck.
"I don't remember," you admitted. "What did you give me?"
"I had forgotten." His chest jumped from a small laugh. "I remember you got so angry and ended up throwing this book to my head… Luckily you never had a good aim." You laughed along with him. "I can't forget when I went to look for your apartment and since you didn't want to open the door I had to climb up to the fifth floor… Just to see that you had locked the window."
"You climbed to the fifth floor," you repeated. "We were both young, strong, and beautiful," you scoffed. Your husband turned his attention away from the pages to look at you closely.
"You're still the most beautiful of all Undercity, even the damn Piltover."
Your chest filled with a pleasant heat. You turned away from his side to look at his face, despite the years he was still as attractive as the first day you met him, hell, even more.
You brought your face close to his to place a kiss on his lips, with little delicacy you took the book and threw it near the bedside table. Your husband wasted no time in helping you slip one of your legs over his hips and you end up sitting on him.
"This morning couldn't be better," You thought, even the sore throat seemed to disappear.
Vander's hands went under your shirt — you wished you have locked the door before you reached this point as you were interrupted with knocking on the bedroom door. You broke away from his grasp only to see his messy hair and crooked glasses that invited you to ignore the door, but the knock heard again.
You got off his lap and fell into your place on the bed, while Vander soon opened the door. It didn't take long for a little blue head to enter without asking permission and end up between the sheets next to you.
"Good morning," she greeted with simplicity. "I saw that you didn't get up, so I came to see if everything was fine." She looked around. "Is everything okay?"
"Y / N woke up a little sick, that's all," Your husband answered from the door and as if it were a switch, all the discomfort returned to your being.
"Oh no" Powder complained. "Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?" She looked at you with her huge sparkling eyes, you shook your head before hugging her tightly. Vander was about to close the door again before a slim figure infiltrated the room.
"Good morning, why haven't you gotten up yet?" Mylo asked, but before anyone could answer him Claggor made an appearance as well, followed by Violet.
"Y / N feels bad," began the smallest
"Bad? What's wrong?" Vi was concerned.
"Can we do something for you?" Claggor asked.
"It's just a sore throat," you said, but Powder's hand came to rest quickly on your cheek and then on your forehead.
"You're very heated, that's a fever," said the little girl. You looked at your husband knowing that this heat had a more complex origin than a disease, one that you wouldn't explain even in your dreams to your children.
"If you have a fever you should stay in bed," suggested the boy with the glasses on his head.
"Claggor is right," Vi supported. "Is there something we can do to make you feel better?"
You were moved by the concern of your children, although you knew that it was nothing more than an absurd sore throat, they had never got a chance to take care of you much, rather you were the one who ran after them every time they got sick.
"No, it's really nothing, I'll get up right away." You made a move to get up but Powder's slim arms wrapped around your waist and kept you on the mattress, despite being so small she had quite a bit of strength.
"Powder's right, maybe you should stay in bed for today," Vander argued.
"Yeah, we'll take care of you," Mylo said "I mean it's only fair, you always take care of us." And he threw himself on the bed next to Powder who still hadn't let go of you.
"It's decided then," Your husband declared. "I'll go make breakfast, I'll leave you with the nurses," He teased.
You sighed and without putting up much more resistance, you put an arm around the little blue-haired girl, pushing her a little to the center of the bed, leaving room for Claggor to lie down as well while Vi lay face down on your feet.
You still remember how they came into your life, it was not in the ideal conditions, but from the first day, you loved them wildly.
This was an idyllic scene, your four children lying next to you to "take care of" you in peace. It was strange that they didn't fight each other.
"You have lice," Mylo said, holding one of Powder's braids trying to tease her. You sighed. Goodbye peace.
"Shut your mouth Mylo, you don't even take a bath," the little girl defended herself.
