Small World Animations ( feat. Claire Evans and 10 year old Bene)
Claire is a bristol-based community artist working mainly with children to make animations, which she finds much more fun than her old job of compiling and editing bilingual dictionaries. Bene likes art, music, model making, circus, football and drama. Claire and Bene's film was made collaboratively 3 years ago.
If you could give a filmmaking pearl of wisdom what would it be?
C: Give it a go. Its amazing what you can achieve with limited resources and not much time.
What is your favourite film?
C: If I have to choose... The Night of the Hunter (also Les enfants du paradis and L'atalante)
B: Aardman films. Dreamwork animated films.
Where would you most like to be right now?
C: On a beach!
B: Probably working at Aardman.
What is your worst homemade disaster?
C: My biggest disaster is not getting round to making my own work really...
What is your favourite part of the human body?
C: Back of the neck.
B: The brain!
What is your biggest ‘what the hell am I doing!’ moment so far?
C: I have lots of those on most of my projects - they are very hectic and quite bonkers!
B: I'm only 10!
