Damian

Damian’s the first one to actually land a hit on him, and they’d all be a little upset about it if it weren’t for the fact that they’re all cheering ‘FINALLY!’

Bruce sits w his head in his hands, leaned against the dining room table.

“Khoa…why are you here?”

“Father! You know this man?”

“Yes. Now Damian, please take your knife out of him.”

Damian begrudgingly listens, and the strange man his father calls Khoa blinks at him w a strange look. He’s unbothered about the fact that he’d just been stabbed, and Damian’s curious.

“Feisty.” Khoa says. And then, “…oh shit. Talia?”

Bruce groans into his hands.

“Father, how does he know Mother?”

“You fucked Talia!? WHEN?!”

Damian wants to stab him again. How dare he make remarks about his parents, and right in front of him too.

“Why didn’t I get an invite?”

Oh. Gross. Gross. Damian wants to stab him again.

“How do you even know he’s Talia’s son?”

“The eyes. Hard to forget those eyes.” There’s warmth in Khoa’s voice, like he’s reminiscing over fond memories. “Remember when she stabbed you and left you for dead?” Very fond memories.

“Khoa.”

“What? You thought I’d be upset? Well, I am a little bit. You cheated on me, Bruce.”

For a man of his age to pout like that, Damian is disgusted all over again. He flips his knife in his hand and Bruce gives his a look from between his fingers. Damian sets the knife down. Jason picks it up.

“I didn’t cheat on you, Khoa. We weren’t even together anymore.”

“I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT!” Dick yells. “I never had proof! But he’s always flirting w you! You dated him!? DAD?”

Bruce groans into his hands again.

“I was a teenager…didn’t really have that many options.”

Khoa gasps dramatically, mimes clutching his pearls and everything.

“Now, Bruce Thomas Wayne. I thought we had something special!”

Damian is not a fan of the dramatics from this man. He’s even less a fan that he’s been in a relationship w his father. Bruce can do so much better. Like his mother.

“You killed people, Khoa.”

Khoa points at Jason, who’s twirling Damian’s knife, trying to find an opening to throw it at Khoa.

“…he’s a special case.”

It's so important to me that Jonathan is so soft in the Superman movie. Jonathan is there asking Lois with worried eyes if their boy is going to be okay. Jonathan is there tearily telling Clark he's proud of him. Jonathan is there recognizing how upset Clark is and coaxing him to talk about it. Jonathan loudly loves his son. There is no guessing game, no question, no room for uncertainty.

And Clark reflects that every day as Superman.

I can't stop thinking about the kitchen fight scene like Eddie went in there looking for a fight, buck wasn't being dramatic, he wasn't acting out or making it about himself and it was driving Eddie crazy because he doesn't know how to handle that.

He'd probably tried a hundred subtle ways to get buck to open up but buck was too busy trying to take care of everyone else. Eddie was worried about buck not dealing with his grief and he didn't know how to even begin processing his own so he went there looking for a fight, saying anything that'd finally get a rise out of buck so they can finally just be sad and broken about this tragedy together.

I fear we're losing the plot a bit, people aren't perfect, they aren't supposed to be perfect especially when they're dealing with grief.

Yes Eddie was a bit of a jerk, so has buck and so have you. People are jerks sometimes, but he admitted it and he made it up to buck.

Second take on the plot I don't think Eddie was mad about the things he said he was mad about. As unhealthy as it is, subconsciously being mad is the only way Eddie allows himself to show his deep feelings "if you want to be mad at me to make it easier for you, be mad at me" that's what Eddie was doing, and that might not be the right thing to do but people aren't always right or rational or fair. But they can still love us and we can still love them.

He wasn't mad at buck for making it about himself because he wasn't doing that here at all, Eddie picked up an old fight about the only thing he knew buck would make about himself (going to Texas) because he needed to be vulnerable and he needed buck to lower his guards too.

He hated that he wasn't there to save Bobby but he also hates himself for not being able to help buck, so he needed to break the surface with whatever tool he had to help them both

one thing tumblr has unironically done to improve my mental health is completely rewrite how i view disgust as a concept. there is no higher compliment to me than being told i have something wrong with me and should be ashamed of myself when i'm just living my life in a way that is perhaps odd and hard to understand, but ultimately as harmless as you can get in our society. which probably wasn't the intention of all the advice i got in therapy to reframe my negative thought patterns as more positive ones, but it's doing great things for me.
