The anime just casually dropping how Dylla's natural hair color is blonde which means Deuce got his hair color from his deadbeat dad on a random Wednesday is like punching me in the throat while I'm on my way to work btw.

I made her and this blog I was wayyy younger. 4 years ago, can you believe it? So much changed and I also was in a bad headspace back then. Now I wanted to rework her and do her justice. also NEW DESIGN!
Facts about her
Anastasia/Jani is a Black-tip Reef Shark Merfolk. She lived in the Coral Sea between the Land of Dawning and the Sunset Savanna. Since she is a reef shark, she didn't quite need to live in deeper waters and had been intrigued by land-dwellers since she was a child.
She has a cousin whom she loves very much, and who is a regular Blacktip Shark. Because of their slightly different species, Jani is smaller than her cousin Laren in both merform and human form.
Sheās an only child so her āsisterā is Laren in her heart. Sheās also the first born in both sides of her family and knowing the Sunset Savanna she has been spoiled rotten even though the most expectations are placed on her. Lil miss perfect?
Jani moved from the Coral Sea to the Sunset Savanna when she was six, living with her father and his side of the family. She'd often visit the waters again for vacations or visits to her cousin and motherās side. She had been advanced academically through private tutors. Then at 15, she moved to the Shaftlands with her dad to be with her other cousins because the Sunset Savanna didn't offer many opportunities. The Shaftlands were where she started to thrive in magic and socially. Though, she hated being further away from Laren.
Also, 12-year-old Jani was crushing on 15-year-old Leona HARD. (you read the manga, you saw how pretty he was </3)

Since the Sunset Savanna saw scars as signs of bravery, she would show off her scars-often wearing revealing clothes (not like this though), especially when the weather was unbearably hot. Though as she got older she found ways to be more creative with modest clothing since she moved somewhere with colder weather.
Shark bite: she'd usually tell people that it was from a normal small shark, but only Floyd and Leona know it's actually from a shark merfolk who tried to court her when she visited the Coral Sea at 14 (aggressive courting :C which led most shark mermaids to have scars and bites, but she managed to get away.)
Other scars: Corals and from fighting off other predatory merfolk (barracudas, piranhas, etc.) for food.
NRC life
Sheās an straight 'A's student, but she does all her work last minute. She keeps to herself but often will surprise her peers with her actionsāsometimes itās good things like talents or leadership, and sometimes itās the out of pocket things she says or doesā¦
She is 100% a ragebaiter. Itās in simple things, like pretending to feed her friend something only to move her hand last minute to just eat it herself. She will randomly shout the latest brainrot to someone who will definitely not appreciate it. Sheāll say a friendās name over and over again no matter how many times they say āwhat?ā until they crash out. These are only a few examples š she finds more ways depending on the individual.
Loves to dance but often just for online or on the stage, she does love to freestyle or do dance trends with Floyd but will not want to dance for anyone if she's alone. She can, however, sing whenever she wants to and doesnāt mind showing off. Might make a separate post about her relationships though.
About showing off, oh my gods. Obnoxiously competitive. She canāt stand it if someone else shows off with clearly less skill than her. She is the kind of kid whoāll want people to sing her praisesā¦ then gets shy when she does get the praise. Like, okay, you proved your point. Teacher's pet too š¤.
Surprisingly generous, she believes firmly in the benevolence of the Sea Witch and Octavinelleās spirit. Her family is quite well-off since living in the Shaftlands, and sheād seen the poverty in the Sunset Savanna so she doesnāt mind spending for someone else. She loves to spend on Laren or friends she trusts, and doesnāt mind because she doesnāt usually spend on herself. She might thrift every other month instead to make crafts and outfits. Ruggie would be surprised when he asks her for favors since sheād agree so easily whether it be buying him a meal or getting him an expensive birthday gift. (Even when her birthday literally happened 6 days before) He gets a bit concerned and tells her "thatās one way to get robbedā¦" That doesnāt stop her though. Sometimes when she gets bonuses from Azul or extra allowance from her family she believes itās because she keeps giving. "Ah, see? It all works out for me."
