I was looking at twst stuff and yume stuff in pinterest. I saw this
I'm sorry twin, 😔😔 Yuuken is too handsome...I didn't notice his hair highlights. He has gorgeous eyessss
From now on...I will draw my OC with diamond hair highlights if she's in a twst content
Yuuken became a Yuu
What u meeeaaaaaaaan?? He's always been a Yuu
ADEUCE!!!!!! But it’s that one trend I saw on Twitter
There WILL be a part two to this give me a few buisness days
Same anon who was talking about Yuuka!
That’s fair! I honestly, I don’t think most of the Yuus do a good job as foils, so I guess that’s also the mindset I’m coming from. I know Yuuken doesn’t have much to do with Riddle and we don’t have a ton on Yuuna but I don’t see a lot of similarities with Jamil’s arc. The only one I think does a decent job is Yuuta, but that could also be a case of mangaka favoritism (and the mangaka for Savanaclaw seems to not really get them anyway T.T)
Yuus as Foils to Their OB Boys
No, I got you!! That’s understandable. Also pardon the late reply, I’ve had a few IRL things pop up unfortunately
Hmm, I will say I do have a few thoughts on the Yuus as foils so far!!
Yuuken:
While we don’t have a ton of Yuuken interacting with Riddle specifically, I actually think he kinda...works in contrast to Riddle! So, Yuuken is also a very disciplined person, but unlike Riddle, he’s able to take on that responsible "big-bro" role with his underclassmen without letting it turn into controlling them. He clearly has standards and takes things seriously, but he’s also willing to give people room to be themselves and make their own choices. He’ll still gently (and firmly!!) correct his friends when they’re going too far, like telling Ace to apologize to Riddle and when Deuce was going overboard with the eggs in Episode 5, but there’s a sorta...flexibility to how he handles people, that Riddle really struggles with.
I think that makes for a pretty interesting contrast because both of them can be responsible, disciplined people who naturally take on leadership roles, but they have very different ideas of what that actually means. Yuuken seems to understand that looking out for people doesn’t mean controlling them or being a lil tyrant, whereas that’s something Riddle has to learn over the course of his arc. ALSO!! I think Yuuken also works good in contrast to Trey, who is a pushover who doesn't correct Riddle on his shit.

Yuuna:
And I actually think Yuuna COULD BE a pretty good foil for Jamil too, even though we obviously don’t know as much about her yet! She seems to be someone who tries really hard to stay positive and put her all into the things she’s passionate about, especially her unique fashion.
Considering her humble upbringing, I could potentially see the writers doing something interesting with the fact that she seems to be building an identity for herself that’s somewhat removed from her family of farmers. Whether they actually take her in that direction remains to be seen I guess, but I think there’s a little there already to make her an interesting contrast to Jamil, who feels trapped in the path set out for him by his family and circumstances.
There’s also a possibility of Yuuna actively embracing the things that make her her too, while Jamil has spent so much of his life having to suppress parts of himself because of the role he was born into. HE'S VERY REPRESSED. IF that’s where the manga ends up taking her, I think she could be a REALLY strong foil for him?? Plus, there's no mistaking her resemblance to Kalim! Maybe Jamil writes her off as a spoiled, empty-headed rich girl too, (not that Kalim is either) when that's not the case at all!

Yuuta:
And yeah, Yuuta is probably the strongest example imo, just like you said!! Being a fat person who is genuinely self-accepting, kind, and comfortable with himself makes him a pretty good foil to Azul, whose entire arc revolves around insecurity and trying to make himself into someone he thinks will finally be valued.
Yuuta is comfortable with himself in a way that Azul SO desperately wants to be, and he doesn’t need to make himself more impressive, or powerful in order to do what he needs to do!! He gets Leona to even respect him for his plan to defeat Azul! (Another proof Leona likes underdogs!)
And you could be right tbh, with the mangaka's favoritism. FDGHJK. The Chapter 3 manga is def my fav!!

These are just my thought and you already know how I feel about Yuuka obviously, and I DO still think she has potential to be portrayed in a better-written way in the anime. Again, I didn't want to dislike her, they just really fumble her writing with laziness. Other post abt Yuuka here. (ranty)
Something something Savanaclaw edit
just remembered we’re getting more Zeno Robinson ruggie this December
GRIMMYYYY AND HIS TSUM TSUM!! They are not getting along at all. 😆😆 look at his heckles raised 🤣🤣
Interesting that grim’s background has the great seven in it when the other first years didn’t…it means nothing I’m sure…
It has nothing to do with the prologue or grim eating overblot stones or anything I’m sure…
Yeah…nothing to do…at all…
I've been having a really hard time working up the energy to draw, but I still wanted to celebrate the announcement of the new season, so I sat down and let myself make a loose doodle before work yesterday. I can't wait to see these guys get animated!!!
