It’s colder than usual tonight.

Normally, that’s something Jongho wouldn’t be focused on at all because he would already be asleep at this hour and blissfully unaware of the temperature in the room.

Tonight, that’s not the case.

A series of quiet knocks stirs him from his sleep, and that is the initial realization of how damn cold it is in his room. It doesn’t keep him from pulling himself out of bed and shuffling over to the door, snatching up one of the loose blankets that’s fallen to the floor at some point in the night. He wraps it around his shoulders and tucks the fabric close to his body. There’s no telling who could be at his door at this hour — well, to be fair, Jongho has a decent enough idea about the list of people it could be, but he doesn’t know for sure until the metal door slides open to reveal the dimly lit corridor.

As if fate had meant to play a cruel trick on you, the white ship docks just three ships away from the Treasure.

You stand at the starboard of the ship, watching the crew of the ship throw out the messenger lines and drop the anchor, fingers fisting so tight around the hull that your knuckles bleed white. It’s just a ship, you tell yourself in your mind as you watch the docking process, perhaps with a different crew and a different captain since so many years ago. The seas are treacherous after all.

But something dark swirls in you like a black, seething water. Wooyoung has always acted strong, been a warm comfort for you in times of darkness.  You’ve known that Wooyoung had been sold as a pleasure object as a child, having heard it from Jongho and the man himself, but seeing him like this, knowing the real darkness behind his abuse, it makes you want to destroy.

Bite marks, San had told you. Bruises, scratch marks… as if taking him against his will hadn’t been enough? What on earth had they done to him?

You glance back towards the sickbay, rolling your bottom lip between your teeth contemplatively. The desire to see Wooyoung is still a painful ache in your chest, but you push it down; you don’t know whether it will affect him adversely. With a heavy exhale, you turn around and step towards the kitchens. Perhaps cooking with Seonghwa will be able to distract you a little from everything going on right now.

By a stroke of luck, you manage to catch both Yeosang and Yunho chatting in the galley of the ship with cups of tea, Seonghwa working on some dried meat at the counter. They greet you when you come in, and you seat yourself next to them, placing your head on your arms.

Now, you can wake up in the middle of the night with blood trickling from your nose, and have a warm hand wipe it away with aching tenderness instead of curling up on yourself alone in the darkness, trying to stop the flow with trembling fingers. San’s eyes brim with sorrow in the light of the half moon, but he smiles the best he can, offers you a cloth, and holds you making small talk until it stops.

Still, it helps that he’s there.

You’ve forgotten what it’s like to rely on someone.

The fortune teller hadn’t awoken for a while, but from the way she was still breathing you assumed that she was still alive, merely exhausted from her fortune telling, so you had left your shawl draped around her shoulders, tucking her into it before you had exited the shack and made your way back. 

You stop for a while to stand at the end of the docks, overlooking the ocean as the waves lap against the stone. Looking into the watery depths, you frown, the water shifts and roils beneath you, and for a second you see someone staring back at you as the surface of the black water ripples, hair made of sea foam, eyes dark like the bottomless depths of the ocean where no light ever reaches. You blink in confusion, lean further to look more closely, but before you can catch a clearer glimpse the water swirls and another wave crests; and the image is gone.

“Looking for one of the souls of the dead, dearie?”

I think part of the reason STAYs seem to be so passive regarding Woojin, is that we have no reason, no reason why, we can’t argue or fight for him to stay when we have no idea what we’re fighting against. With Wonho, the reasons were clear, they were unfair and unjust but we have something to fight, he doesn’t deserve to shoulder the burden! He doesn’t deserve to be so unfairly targeted, and his accusers are shady af. That is a cause. But Woojin? ‘’’personal reasons’’’ could mean anything, who do we fight, how do we fight for him when we have no idea how we got here?

apparently some antis from twitter managed to drag up some fancam of wonho saying "me too" in an excited tone in response to something minhyuk asked but they somehow managed to delude themselves into thinking he was making fun of the #MeToo movement? im not home yet so i haven't done much research and might not be fully aware of the situation, but it's highly unlikely wonho would do anything like this :/ ill research on it more once i get back but honestly i think it's just a microscopic misunderstanding that antis are using to bring mx down right before their comeback >:(

i read up a bit more too and apparently the account that posted the video deleted (wow totally not suspicious) and that antis managed to get into mx's fancafe and post a whole bunch of hate messages with r*** threats and messages telling others to boycott mx... what on earth i thought korea was just in this whole frenzy about no more hate messages and less than a week later this shit happens
