gentle reminder: I hope you can feel free to be yourself and stop being embarrassed over everything you say or do. and stop trying to avoid being seen as cringy or embarrassing, and just live freely. the only way to not be “cringy” is to be an empty shell of who you are. a lot of the time those words are used when someone who tries their best, or is passionate about something. those aren’t traits to be ashamed of and I’m sorry if people led you to believe that. be less judgemental to yourself and don’t underestimate the good and kindness in people. there will always be judgemental attitudes especially online, but there are lots of genuinely kind people and strangers in the world. those are the people you should pay attention to! and you can always make the world nicer for yourself and people around you. as hard as it is, assume good intent in people unless proven otherwise. let yourself unlearn the judgemental thoughts you learned from others, and try to be that person who makes other people feel free to be themselves too. let yourself enjoy life without always caring whether someone’s watching you and laughing or judging. who cares if they judge you. are they even important to you? are they good people who you should aspire to be like? so do things that make you happy. be yourself even if it’s a stereotype people like to make fun of. say things from the heart. try your best. find a good role model. love things fully and on purpose. wear clothes you love, decorate your room with your favorite aesthetics, live like you’re in a movie, and stop caring! in the end you’ll have fun and have good memories to treasure. you’ll be happier and you’ll attract people who feel the same carefree way toward life, and you’ll inspire others to be themselves too. 💛

overcoming anxiety, insecurities and low body image

learning how to study effectively

finding a sense of stability and calmness at your core

quitting habits or addictions

leaving people and behaviours that turn you into the worst version of yourself

getting used to healthier coping mechanisms & mindsets that feel fake

treating yourself like you truly care about yourself

becoming the person you always wanted to be

I know this is going to make me sound pretensions but I have to get it off my chest. I feel an unimaginable rage when someone posts a photo and is like "this picture looks like a renaissance painting lol" when the photo clearly has the lighting, colors and composition of a baroque or romantic painting. There are differences in these styles and those differences are important and labeling every "classical" looking painting as renaissance is annoying and upsetting to me. And anytime I come across one of those posts I have to put down my phone and go take a walk because they make me so mad

Ive been listening to the bands from your spotify wrapped and ive been really enjoying them! Do you have any more recs you could give out??

a rotten fact about me is that i listen to the same 5 bands and same, like 400 songs, but i will try:

if you haven’t already: blackbird raum, holy locust, RENT STRIKE, nick shoulders, the taxpayers

my faves not on spotify: loone (maybe some music is actually but the bandcamp has more stuff - the album in linked is my fave but lots of variation in sound across albums) / noelle longhaul (namely this album rn!), douglas für, katie greenwood ross

folk punk: ricky steece, railyard ghosts (fucking bite me, ok?), cousin boneless, mallory (also the sound varies a ton album to album and some if it is more folk/ alt-country maybe but the one i linked is distinctively folk punk) (if you really like folk punk you will probably also like troll 2 these folks are soooo nice but note that the music is a little more theatrical and I am not an avid listener but i’m also surprised they dont have more of a following?), king strang who is old time / ‘one man stomp band’ but distinctively crusty and deserves a WAY larger following (like imagine the otgw characters but they hop trains) 

not folk punk: frank fairfield (also check out rhiannon giddens if you like old-time style & also super unrelated she designed this banjo for an auction a couple weeks ago and if I think about it too hard i will start to pant) neutral milk hotel, alex g but this album, y la bamba, slothrust uhhh i’m sure i like other things too but that’s all I can think of rn for recs!
