Pairing: Din Djarin x Original Female Character (OFC)
Summary: After a rebellious plan gone horribly wrong on her home planet of Tatooine, Abera Caelum was essentially forced into the Bounty Hunter’s Guild to make ends meet. For years she laid low, took easy bounties, and took simple pleasures where she could. She thrives on Chaos and Luck, which seem to be her only two friends…until she meets a certain Mandalorian and curiosity gets the best of her. Call it fate, call it the Force, call it the will of the Universe, but Beskar and Copper are both beautiful metals and have strengths in their own way. One protects, while the other heals.
Warnings: 18+ Lots of flirting, lots of tension, mentions of sexual encounters. Smut but way way later. This is definitely going to be a slow burn, but the good kind. The kind that SMOULDERS. Also typical bounty hunter stuff--injuries, blood, killing, action.
Notes: (Please Read) I know I’ve only done “Character x reader” stuff on here, and I will continue to do so, but I have like a billion OCs and I wanted to dip my toes into posting an OC story on tumblr. I don’t know how well it’ll be received but I’m very proud of this character and I’m really excited to share her with yall. This will be a long fic, so here we are! (spans through the series and into BoBF. That’s the plan, anyways!)

Chapter 1 - The Softie
This definitely wasn’t a cantina. Well, it was, but it wasn’t like the ones she was used to. Shady cantinas on backwater planets in the Outer Rim were where she belonged, but she often had to go where the job--and the money--led her; so here she was.
She had received looks as soon as she’d walked in and in hindsight she probably should have worn something more suitable for this place, but she was already here.
Too late now.
She took a seat at the bar, ordered herself a drink, and was polite as could be. Her legs swung back and forth under her seat, and she sipped at the fruity drink she’d allowed herself to splurge on. The place really was nice. She made a note to come back when she could afford it.
“If you don’t mind my saying, you don’t look like you’re from around here,” a smooth voice commented from the side. She looked over and smiled at the young man. He seemed around her age or so, give or take. She gave a half-innocent shrug.
“I’m not. I stopped here for some repairs and to pick up some things.”
“Well, as fancy as this place looks, still be careful. Don’t want a pretty little thing like you running into the wrong sort. Even if you are just passing through.”
“Well thank you for the warning. I’ll be sure to keep my wits about me. What’s your name? Would you like to join me?”
“You’re pretty forward, huh?” He chuckled.
“I’m sorry. I don’t mean to offend,” she offered gently. The young man smiled and shook his head.
“No, I like forward. My name is Rowan, Rowan Zarran,” he held his hand out to her, and she took it.
“Nice to meet you, Rowan. My name is Abera, Abera Caelum.”
“That’s a pretty name. A pretty name for a pretty face. I really like those crazy goggles you’ve got on your head too,” he reached up to touch at the metal spikes that adorned the sides of her copper goggles, but she took his wrist gently.
“Careful, you might hurt yourself on those,” she joked.
“You’re sweet,” Rowan grinned. “Let me buy your next round, Abera.”
“I would really appreciate that.”
More than one round was bought, but she was prepared. Abera had taken a supplement before coming here, knowing exactly what she was about to get into. It negated the effects of the alcohol. Rowan was also holding his own.
They’d ended up staying at the cantina for a little longer than she’d planned. He wasn’t drunk either, but he was still handsome and clearly interested. They were both laughing together after a funny story was told.
“You’re something else, you know?” Rowan said between laughter.
“I try my best…” she bit her lip as she let her eyes rove over him. “Would you…like to come back to my ship? It’s a U-Wing, if that tempts you any.”
“A U-Wing?? Are you kidding me?” Rowan’s eyes widened. He looked around the area then leaned closer to her. “Were you in the Rebellion?”
“No. To be perfectly honest, I salvaged it and modded it. I was never in the Rebellion. I told you, I’m somewhat of a cargo girl,” she shrugged. “Well, do you want to see it or not?”
“Yeah I do! Just be careful, you know. The New Republic may be around now but that doesn’t mean the ghosts of the Empire aren’t still lurking.”
“I’m careful enough, come on!” Abera grinned and stood up, holding her hand out to him. Rowan tossed a few credits on the table and left with her.
Incidentally, the tour of her ship was brief because both of them had the same thing on their minds.
Their clothes were hanging off of their bodies, not even having bothered to get undressed all the way, and Rowan had her against the wall of her ship. It was hot and rough, just like she’d wanted, but she let him take his time and do what he wanted.
The second round was when the clothes finally all came off…and when the ruse did too. They were both breathing hard, both completely satisfied, but it was time for her to get to work. Abera ran a hand through her light brown hair and stood up, stretching and moaning softly.
“Damn, Rowan, that was great. Thank you,” she looked over her shoulder at him and grinned.
“Oh thank you, Abera,” he let his eyes climb down her form. “I haven’t been with anyone since– well, let’s just say a while.”
“Well, I wanted to give you a good run because it might be the last you get for another while,” she told him as she began to pull her clothes back on.
Rowan cocked his head to the side, his forest green eyes clouded with confusion.
“What do you mean?”
Abera walked over and locked her ship, then pulled her pants back on. The copper rivets that went down her legs still gleamed brightly in the light even though some places in her pants looked worn and faded. Evidence of whatever past action she’d seen.
“Sorry babe, but I’m a bounty hunter,” she finally revealed to him with a little shrug. “I’m part of the Guild and was hired out by your father. Says you owe him big time. I’ve been tasked with bringing you back home, and I’m getting paid for it.”
“What??” Rowan sat up straight. “No…you’re kidding me!” He shook his head and stood up. “So that’s what you meant by cargo. Damn it, whatever he’s paying you, I’ll double it!”
“No you won’t, babe…I know you’re about broke. I mean come on that’s the whole reason a bounty was put on you. You spent all of daddy’s money and then bailed, didn't you?”
Rowan went quiet and hung his head, his dark chocolate curls falling into his eyes.
“I’m sorry it had to be like this. You seem like a sweet guy, but I gotta do my job, you know?” She turned around and bent down to pick up her holster that held her blaster. She heard light, fast footsteps behind her and withdrew her blaster pistol, whipping around and aiming it right in his face. He froze, fist raised in his attempt to try and knock her out.
“Now you can get there conscious and nice, not a scratch on you, or I can deliver you unconscious with a pounding headache to boot. I highly doubt you want to test my knockout serum. It’s homemade, and I’m still working some kinks out of it,” she rose a brow at him.
Rowan slowly relaxed his body and sighed out, nodding. “I’m sorry…”
“It’s alright. I get it, I do, but we were having such a nice time. Don’t make this worse on yourself alright? I like you.” Abera strapped her brown leather holster onto her hip and strapped it around her thigh, then sheathed her blaster. “Get dressed, try to relax. How old are you?”
“Twenty-eight,” he sounded rather defeated as he began to scoop up his clothes and put them back on.
“I’m twenty-six,” she pulled her thin white tank top on, then pulled another navy blue one on over it. “If you want, you can tell everyone a big bad bounty hunter took you out. You don’t have to mention that I’m both shorter and younger than you and a girl, if you prefer,” she smirked. Rowan paused and gave her a deadpan look. She held her hands up. “Alright. I can take a hint. I’ll stop making jokes and go set a course for Naboo. Don’t even think about looking for weapons either. They’re all coded and primed to shock anyone that comes snooping. Just take a seat and try to relax for the home stretch.”
“Easier said than done…” Rowan muttered.
“Well maybe if you behave I’ll come back and ride you while we’re in hyperspace. That’ll take your mind off of it,” she turned her mischievous sapphire eyes to him. “Sound good?”
Rowan was a little caught off guard by that, but he licked his lips and gave a nod. “Absolutely,” he cleared his throat, trying not to sound too eager. “I mean…yeah. Sure,” he shifted and dropped his shirt back to the floor. She winked at him, then snatched her spiked goggles up from the floor and walked to the cockpit to get ready for take off.
~*~
True to her word, Abera made the ride through hyperspace much more relaxed for her quarry. At the same time, however, it ended all too quickly for him.
The young woman was allowed to dock her ship at the public port, and Rowan’s father was there to meet them. She took a moment to look around the area as they walked down the platform and noticed something that actually surprised her. “A Razor Crest? Damn…” she was mildly impressed, though she knew she wasn’t the only person in the galaxy to have an affinity for classic ships. She ended up running right into Rowan, who definitely didn’t want to go, so she had to give him a push forward down the platform. His mother was also there to soften the blow a bit.
“Here he is, Lord Zarran. If he runs away again, and you need someone to catch him, you know how to find me,” Abera winked and gave a little salute.
“I hope he wasn’t too much trouble?”
“Not at all. One of the easiest and…most entertaining quarries I’ve had,” she smirked.
“Abera, will I ever see you again?” Rowan asked quickly, a desperate look on his face.
“What does it matter?” His father snapped. “She’s a bounty hunter. If you behave you won’t have to see her again.”
Abera smirked at those words. “Well, there’s your answer right there, Rowan. You may yet.”
“I would prefer it if you don’t lure my son away,” his father said in exasperation.
“It’s alright he seems like the type that would only be a liability. I’m only interested in the occasional hookup,” the bounty hunter assured. Rowan’s mother gasped and turned an offended look at her husband, then at her son.
“Oh, you could have more than that, Abera!” Rowan proclaimed. Lord Zarran sighed and shook his head
“Let’s get him out of here.”
“Call me if you need me,” she chimed playfully and was only answered by a light scoff from the father.
“Until we meet again, Abera Caelum!” Rowan called to her. She simply waved and blew a little kiss at him.
“Yeah right, that’s likely,” she muttered sarcastically under her breath. Well at least that was another weight off of her and she could relax. “Now then,” she put her hands on her hips and looked around again. Her job was done, and she had a little time before she was ready to leave out to collect her payment back home, so she wanted to see what she could get up to. Naboo was beautiful. It was one of her favorites even though she’d only visited twice. She really wanted to take a vacation here someday.
Her eyes, however, were drawn back to that Razor Crest. She’d only ever seen one once before and it was practically a pile of scrap. She’d mostly scavenged off of it, but what really surprised her was what emerged from the ship.
“Well I’ll be damned...a Mandalorian!” She breathed, her eyes wide and her face full of wonder and admiration. She’d heard so many stories about Mandalore and its people, but never thought she’d actually see one. She was familiar with the bounty hunter Boba Fett but had never met him, only heard that he was supposedly a Mandalorian too.
She watched him for a moment as he attempted to fix something on his ship. Her brow furrowed and she noticed him struggling, even saw how his shoulders tensed and his body language was riddled with frustration. Her curiosity kicked at her, but what kicked at her the most was her desire to help him. It seemed like an easy enough fix.
Despite what little anxiety and warning started to bloom in the back of her mind, she began to make her way towards him. She made sure to make her steps noisy so he wouldn’t think she was trying to sneak up on him.
“Um…hey, do you need some help?”
“No,” was the curt, modulated response. He never looked her way.
“Kinda seems like you do,” Abera crossed her arms and raised a brow, smirking softly.
“I know how to fix my own ship.”
“I never said you didn’t know how.”
He sighed heavily. “What do you want?” He finally turned around to face her. Abera let her eyes run down him, then they went back to the dark visor that hid his face.
“I just want to help,” she held her hands up slowly. “I promise. I really like your ship. I’ve only seen one and it was in a lot worse shape than yours. That’s mine over there,” she jerked her thumb back in the direction of her U-Wing. He was silent for a moment, before he gave a nod.
“I know.”
“You- You know?” She repeated, mildly surprised.
“Heavily modded, salvaged U-Wing, right? I know who you are, Abera.”
“Damn…” Abera had a little laugh in her voice. “I dunno if I should be freaked out or flattered.”
“Well, that depends. I know you as the Softie in the Guild, the one who takes the simpler bounties,” he nodded towards where she’d just been, his silvery helmet glinting in the sunlight. “The noble sons, the bail jumpers, easy stuff.”
“Is that so bad? Sure, it’s not the top paying ones, but I get by well enough. Is that really what they call me? The Softie?” She laughed and shook her head.
“It is, but I didn’t know it was you until he yelled out your name. Sounds like you left an impression.”
“What can I say?” She shrugged and grinned. “I’m beautiful and adventurous. Noble boys like wild women, but he’s not really my type. I’d never settle down with someone like that. Now, my turn to analyze you. You’re a Mandalorian and in the Guild and you’re having ship troubles. That’s the extent of my knowledge. I’ve never met a Mandalorian before. This has been a hell of a day for me, but in a good way!”
“Is that the real reason why you walked over? Because you wanted to meet a Mandalorian?”
She was quickly learning that this guy was hard to read, even in his voice. She couldn’t tell if he was offended or being sarcastic, but she smiled and shrugged anyway.
“Part of the reason, but mostly because I noticed how frustrated you were, how tense you looked. I know I don’t really look like it, but I’m a good mechanic.”
“What do you want in return? You’re probably going to get paid pretty well.”
“I don’t want anything. I just want to help you. Is that so hard to believe?” She raised her brows and held her hands out to show she meant well. The Mandalorian was silent for a few moments, and Abera discerned that he was probably sizing her up, looking for any trace of ulterior motives.
“I guess not,” he finally relented.
“Good. Now, was that so hard?” She held her hand out to him. He stared at it, or she assumed so when she saw his helmet tilt downwards slightly. “I’m formally introducing myself. My name is Abera Caelum, and it’s nice to meet you, Mandalorian.”
He reached out and took her hand and she gave it a light shake.
“Nice to meet you, too,” he responded. He was a little perplexed at how laid back she was. He didn’t often meet genuinely nice people, especially in the Guild. He still remained a little wary of her as he explained what was wrong with the ship, but he let himself relax the more they talked mechanics. Sure enough, Abera had managed to squeeze herself into the tight space that he couldn’t have reached, and it only took her a few minutes to fix it. The Mandalorian was mildly impressed…and he caught himself staring at her, his eyes darting to a stretch of skin that was revealed when she lifted her arms. She was attractive, that much was certain, but it was mostly curiosity that fueled him.
“It definitely disguises itself as a big problem, but it’s actually really simple, just hard to reach,” Abera explained as she relaxed and let her arms back down. Her skin was covered again, and the Mandalorian had managed to embarrass himself. Thankfully, she couldn’t tell. “You just had some wires knocked loose in there. I fixed them to where they shouldn’t come apart any more. If they do, though, you’ll either have to shed that armor and get up in there yourself or hire someone else to do it. Lucky for you, I was here,” she smiled triumphantly as she jumped back down to the ground and wiped her hands off on her pants.
“Thank you,” he was very sincere, then, and it flattered her a bit. “I am glad you were here. Are you sure I can’t pay you?”
“Think nothing of it. Just a favor for a friend and fellow Guild member. Though, I will say you’re much nicer than all the other members I’ve come into contact with,” she had a slight laugh in her voice.
“Well, I can say the same for you,” he gave her a nod. That made Abera’s grin widen.
“I like you, Mandalorian. Tell you what, if you’re ever around Nevarro you can buy me a drink and we’ll call it even.”
“You operate out of Nevarro?”
“Yeah. It’s not the best, but since the Guild doesn’t operate out of Tatooine any more it’s not like I can move back home and have work.”
“And you’re from Tatooine,” he seemed to have the slightest tone of amusement to his voice then.
“Wow, yeah, I just told you a lot of personal information didn’t I?” Abera rubbed the back of her neck and gave a nervous smile. “I didn’t mean to do that. Forget you heard all that.”
“Don’t worry. I’d never use any of it against you. I’m with the Nevarro Guild, too, and I was headed in that direction from a job.”
“What?? No way!” Abera suddenly exclaimed in excitement. “How come I’ve never seen you around the cantina?”
“I don’t stay in one place for too long. I usually drop off the bounties and get right back out there. Keep busy.”
“Oh ok. I understand. Well, I’m headed back to Nevarro, too. Want to take a break with me for a little while?”
“I’ll buy you that drink but afterwards I’m getting back to work.”
“Good enough for me!” Abera smiled and clapped him on the bicep. “See you then!” She waved and turned to walk off to her ship. She talked and acted as if she’d known him all her life, and that confused him a little. She was outspoken and strange, definitely not what he was used to. He was used to staying to himself, but now this girl wanted to suddenly get to know him? He’d indulge it, simply because he was curious too, but after this one drink that would be it.
Or so he thought.

Well, I hope yall enjoyed this first bit! I’ve been itching to post this, kinda had an internal battle with myself. Had some great support and encouragement, though.
If you want to be added to the taglist, let me know! If this isn’t your cup of tea and you want to be taken off, I totally get it and that’s ok too!
I would like to read a fanfic on qui gon having a wife since I have a crush on him
Please it would mean so much to me
Hello, thank you for the ask but I'm not taking requests at this time. My work life has been extremely busy and I havent had the time nor the brain power to write fic in my off hours.
Ok so we all love a hyperfixation but does anyone else ever avoid certain things because you feel like you don't have the time to be fixated on that, or that you aren't in the right headspace for this to become your latest obsession
His visage, framed by dark, thick waves of hair, was a bit proud of countenance: something that others, not knowing him, might mistake for arrogance. Confident in his skills and in his mission, he sometimes displayed an impatience that arose only from a desire to fulfill the task at hand.
