Walking a lot!! I never thought... I never realized, I guess, just how much there was outside the tribes... I’ve seen deserts before, and the ocean, and forests and stuff, and even mountains, but out here? There’s mountains so high you can see snow on top of them in summer! I even, I actually talked to a loner, a stranger, and they said you have to be careful up there because sometimes the snow will come crashing down and it can be very dangerous... Oh, and there’s sometimes cracks in the ice that go down so deep that if you fall you’ll never get back out! I’m glad we’re not going up there, I think I’d be scared... Although, part of me kind of wants to anyway...
We had to stop for a while though because Ptole got in a fight with a wolverine! He was really brave, we split up to go hunting before we settled down for the night, and it was upwind of me and Ptole noticed it just in time, he came out of nowhere just screeching! He got hurt pretty badly, but he gave that wolverine a real shock, and it ran off. We’ve been waiting until he’s well enough to travel again, but I’m secretly kind of relieved because my paws were starting to get really sore... Hercules seems worried (and I am too of course!) but I think Ptole is gonna be just fine. It’s a nice break!

I’m a freelance graphic designer! Is that a job? Hmmm, I don’t know if that counts as a job... I like it though!! I can be hard and the pay isn’t great, but I enjoy it!

I’m my own boss!!! It’s nice, but it also means I can’t give myself a raise just because I feel like it.... :/

No coworkers really! Which makes me a little sad, but I try to keep in touch with friends and go out often so I don’t get blue!

I try to save it but sometimes there’s just a really cute dress or pair of shoes I HAVE to buy!! ;w; I’m actually... not great at saving, but I’m better than I was!! So that’s something.

Hey Cale! So how did you and Sat start going out? I also heard that you're in a QP relationship with Shino, is it awkward being in a relationships with two brothers?
Cale seems to pause at the question. To some, it may seem as if he’s almost taken aback- but then a warm smile spreads through his face, and he purrs, making himself comfortable. What an uncalled for question, he thinks. It’s something he has never considered before, and it takes him a moment of thought before he opens him mouth, drawing in breath to speak.
“Saturnus…”, he begins, but instead of words, only a breathy laugh escapes him. He hasn’t yet said anything, but already the young tom seems flustered, pawing at the ground in embarrassement. “Saturnus- oh, Spirits, that was a wild ride. He was trying to fish, tripped and fell in the water; that’s how we met! Have you ever seen him wet? He looks ridiculous. All this fur that makes him look big and regal just falls and it’s the greatest thing in the world. And- ah, but I’m getting carried away, aren’t I? Gee, sorry! Anyway, we hang out after that again, and it’s cool! He’s cool. Really cool. And since we had fun and we got along well we just, I don’t know, thought it’d be nice to try something a little more longterm! And it’s nice, really! I haven’t ever been in a relationship before, and neither has he, so I’m not- I’m not really sure how we’re supposed to go about the whole thing, but I think we’re doing okay!” He grins, eyes happily squinty. “As for Shino..”
“It’s not awkward. At least, I don’t find it awkward. Me and Shino don’t have a romantic relationship- we just have something that isn’t covered by what people perceive as friendship! Like… extra super best friends, but a little above that, I suppose.” He makes a face at his own awkward, childish wording. “I ‘on’t know- I’m not too good at explaining things, ya know! I think the only thing I’d consider slightly awkward is that fact that they’re such different cats! I love Shino lots and lots, but compared to Sat, he’s quite a handful.” He laughs again, a small purr errupting in his throat. “Shino has a fire in him that if left unattended has the power to engulf all of Nandryx. It can be troublesome sometimes- but I admire that quality in him, really. I feel… I feel like he can achieve everything he puts his mind into, and he makes me the best I can be. I like to think that for as long as I’ve spend with him, I’ve managed to take some of that fire into myself. Which isn’t to say Saturnus doesn’t have his own kind of fire. Because he does! They both shine so brightly, so strongly, and I feel so honoured to be able to be part of their lives.”Catching himself straying again, he gives an awkward grin, shrugging a shoulder. “For me, Saturnus is like the moon, and Shino like the sun. Both bright, both incredible and important, but possessing different qualities and graces.”

Shibui: Sleeps on her side, often pulls her legs up into the fetal position, flips and turns a lot during the night and frequently wakes up a little stiff from being so balled up.
Pangur: Sleeps on his back, for maximum cuddling opportunity. Snores sometimes.
Irastus: Sleeps on his stomach with his hands jammed under the pillow, but also has the ability to fall asleep literally anywhere and any time at all in the most bizarre poses.
Matteus: Sleeps on his back, but also has the ability to fall asleep anywhere and any time. Sometimes sleeps with his eyes open.
Shinonome: Sleeps on his back or his side with his hands tucked up by his chest, sleeps pretty heavily too.
Spider: Falls asleep bunched up in the tightest ball possible, but slowly spreads out as he sleeps until he’s spread eagle on his back.

The question makes her smile, and she ducks her head, laughing softly. “I ask myself the same thing, sometimes... But during my time in the tribes, I stayed in almost every tribe for some period of time, and what I found when I joined Shadow tribe too see how I felt... Was a sense of family. Shadow-tribe is far more close-knit than any other tribe I’ve been in, and its members care about one another as more than just acquaintances... They care about each other as a family. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that I have friends and family in the tribe myself, either.” She laughs again, and smiles. “I can’t thank Cenek enough for letting me return, even with his reservations... I truly feel as though this is a place where I can learn to belong.”

Attraction is a strange thing to you. You’re no stranger to it, after all this time, but it continues to baffle you sometimes. Why him. He’s crass, he’s bold, he’s smug, and you don’t hate him. Despite yourself, despite everything, you don’t hate him.
this one got even longer than the shino/qi one, in fact WAY longer, mostly because i started talking about specific scenarios, so it goes under the cut too.
HMMM THIS ONE IS HARD bc Shino has also known Noc since he was a kit, and that makes it hard for him to see her in a potentially romantic light (also the fact that she’s not a tom). For the purposes of this, let’s alter stuff a bit and say that first off, Shino likes girls, and second, Noctis was originally chosen by the Shadow spirit, not the Light spirit. She would still have been close with Yaeger, and Shino would have seen her around Light tribe a few times, but not been close with her. He’d find her interesting, a cat who doesn’t speak or act like a normal cat, but his interest doesn’t go much past vague intrigue until Yaeger leaves. (Noctis has been interested in his eyes a little bit, but doesn’t like kits and is often too distracted hanging out with Yaeger, and Shino doesn’t approach them.)
They first meet when Shino runs away after attacking Kokkinos. Instead of Sol finding him and dragging him back after he’s collapsed, he finds Noctis when he’s weak but not to the point of passing out. They talk, to the extent that the can talk. Shino recognizes her as the cat who used to hang out with Yaeger a lot, and asks if she knows he’s gone. Noc cringes a bit, and Shino takes that as a yes, saying that he’s sorry for her loss, but reassuring her that sometimes cats just need to go off alone for a while, to sort themselves out. He then goes on to say that’s pretty much why he’s out here, but doesn’t mention anything further than that. He kind of nudges Noc and tells her it’ll be okay, and then kind of awkwardly says he’s here for her if she ever wants support. Noctis feels a little better, and they part ways with something positive between them.
The next day, Noctis comes back with a bunch of pretty stones as a gift for Shino, to thank him. Shino kinda laughs, like aw, you shouldn’t have, but he appreciates the gesture and they chill for a while, sorting through the stones, with Shino just rambling to her. He finally asks her why she doesn’t talk, and she stamps her paw and him and clicks her tongue and he’s like haha alright, okay I guess you just don’t want to, and she trills. She comes by the next day too, and the day after that, and on the fifth day she finds him in a state of near unconsciousness and panics a little, running back to get Sol to help her carry him home. Shino does the same delirious talking to Sol, but he also talks to Noctis a bit, saying things like, I’m sorry, I’m not as good as you think, I’m a bad cat, I don’t deserve you liking me. They finally get him back to camp and he passes out for a while, but Noctis stays while he sleeps and refuses to leave, when he wakes up she gets him to eat and drink a little, and then curls up next to him when he passes out again and guards him, hissing at cats who look in.
Finally Shino wakes up properly, and Noctis is ALL OVER HIM chirruping and making sure he’s okay, and Shino is kind of groggy but laughs a little like hey, you, what’s up? and he gets a faceful of Noc nuzzling him and snuffling him to make sure he’s ok. She probably stays for a while after that, and Shino finds it oddly comforting to have her there, he feels protected from the prying eyes of his tribe, and he kind of mumbles as much to Noc.
Noctis comes and visits him frequently, and as his condition worsens she gets more and more worried, until Shino breaks down crying one day, saying that he doesn’t want to die like this, just wasting away, and Noctis goes and gets Sanibel and Shino basically begs her to let him go through with the procedure that might heal him, with Noctis standing protectively at his side and puffing up her cheeks and frowning at Sanibel. She stays around for when he goes under, and paces outside the den, and when everything is over, Shino thanks her for being there and for helping him convince Sanibel, and then he smiles a little strained.
The two of them see each other more often as time passes, and while Shino still doesn’t feel comfortable visiting Shadow tribe for a while, they meet in the woods, and Shino tells her things he’s discovered living on his own as an exile, and she finally tells him her name, (probably Nonus,) and eventually Noctis helps facilitate him and Sol making up, and after that he comes to Shadow tribe to visit the two of them more, and finally one day he and Noctis are hanging out just the two of them and he’s like hey, I know it’s silly and I don’t even know if you feel the same way, but... I really like you, and- and then Noctis pretty much bowls him over and Shino laughs, and asks if that’s her saying she likes him too, and she nods a lot and purrs and Shino’s like so you’ll go out with me? and she backs off a little and nods very solemnly, and Shino butts his head against hers and tells her that he’s very happy.
In this scenario, I feel like they’d do very well together? Shino would understand Noctis’ strangeness and lack of talking and he’d find her charming, while Noctis would think Shino was very beautiful and feel extremely protective over him as her boyfriend. The only thing is I can see Shino maybe being a little uncomfortable when Noctis gets clingy on other cats or calls them ‘shiny’ too, but he’d try to talk to her and explain it instead of just letting it fester, and I think that would make this an overall healthy relationship! 10/10 gays, super cute.

There is a pure sort of love that you get from her. You have cried yourself to sleep before with the knowledge that you are loved unconditionally, but no one needs to know that. Sometimes you think, you would die for her, you would die for them. It’s frightening. But she makes your home feel like a home, more than anyone else, and you are so, so grateful that she was born.
You were not born loyal, but you learned. She is everything to you, and when she is angry your bones sing with her anger. You would tear flesh and burn forests for her, whether she asked you to or not, whether it is needed or not. You were not born hating, but you learned. When you see this tom who hurts her, when you feel her rage and pain and confusion, you hate, it feels righteous in your mind.
I’m trying to get more into writing and poetry, so I’m gonna be doing 5 sentence stories! Just send me a ship or a character and a theme and I’ll write a 5 sentence story about them! I’m better with my own characters and characters I know well, but if you’re okay with me possibly butchering your character a little I can write something for ships and characters that are not mine.

Qiarah and Shino for the ship thing because some questions need answers
This got kind of long so I’m putting it under a readmore!
HMM OK I had to go look at his app to remind myself of some stuff but I THINK it would have gone a lot better if their first meeting hadn’t been when they were kits. Like, Shino was super salty about being upstaged by all these youngsters and not having his family be the only group of kits in LT, but if Qi had come in when he was six moons old, I think Shino would have already been more tolerant, if not completely civil. He would have been kind of interested in there being another trans male cat in his tribe, and he’d probably have taken Qi under his wing a bit, and at first he’d have been a little pompous and overbearing, but he would calm down pretty quick and become like a protective figure for Qi throughout his apprenticeship. When his sleep apnea started acting up during the plague, he would have moved his nest to sleep next to Qi and kept a close eye on him until he got too sick to do so. He probably also would have gone with him to bring the cure to Qi’s family (though I’m sure Ci would have come too).
Over time I imagine Qi’s little baby crush on Shino from when he was an apprentice would grow into a bigger, real crush, and Shino would come to love Qi a lot as well. Qi would have to be the one to ask Shino out, but Shino would definitely say yes. Honestly though, I feel like for Shino, he’d always view Qi as a sort of younger brother figure, due to knowing him since he was a kit, and he’d eventually confess this to him and say that maybe they should break up. He’d try to remain friends with Qi, but I think it would be up to Qi if he would be comfortable staying friends with Shino.
Endgame would probably still be Cielo/Qiarah since I can’t really imagine them NOT being together, lmao... But Shino would cheer them on and be very happy for Qi, and tell him something like “No matter what or who you choose, I’ll always love you.”
Hey guys, I had a great idea that I want to try out because I’m a slut for romance.
Send me any crack ship paired with a character of mine and I’ll tell you their story! How they met, their building relationship, what made them get together and their ultimate ending good or bad. All of these are absolute hypothetical pairings and none will be canon, but it’s a great way to pair different characters and personalities and see how they’d end up in my own mind.
