The short hazel eyed female spoke softly, she was rather shy at first, she was holding two coffees in her hands, one with Detective Reed written neatly on it and the other with her name 'Selene Arden' "I don't know how you like your coffee so I made a dark roast with steamed milk... I hope that's okay" she whispered softly holding coffee she had gotten out to him.

He’s surprised by the sudden offering of coffee, but honestly, nobodies bringing him coffee as an offering in return for his favor isn’t anything new. He’s known to be one of the best around, so newbies bring him coffee sometimes to try to start conversation. All that happens from it is some older guys winning bets from the newbies being turned away and Gavin getting a free coffee with no effort.

“Yeah. I’m Gavin.” He gives her a tired look. “Uh… thanks.” He takes notice of the name on her cup. Halfway to getting a sip, he freezes. “Wait. Who the fuck casually steams milk for coffee?”“And what was that about being partners?”

He and the rookie walked around the station, he was showing her around before stopping in the break room and getting some coffee for the two of them. Selenes hands were scared up from the injuries in the past but they healed quite nicely. She sipped her coffee quietly. Not really making eye contact with anyone that was around.

“Oh-uh..I’ll be right there!”

Staci had totally not just been napping, as the great example that he is. But either way the boy made his way down to meet the new rookie. He hadn’t heard much about any new recruits but he hoped they were fun to hang around with. When he saw the familiar face, he blinked a few times to make sure this was reallt her.

“Hey, I didn’t know you were in training! Do you remember me?”

Staci smiled rather warmly, approaching her where she stood.

He usually wasn’t much for hugging, but he didn’t want to be dismissive either. He smiled and welcomed the hug, returning it while he smiled.

“Oh really? Great job! I remember it was almost yesterday that you first came here. Now you’re the new recruit!”

The boy almost lifted her up accidentally, with his unusual excitement. Staci was so proud of her. And when he let go from the hug, he was glad to see a smile on her face. Very different from their first meeting.

“Aw, you don’t gotta thank me y'know. But I’m real glad that you’re okay.”
