Indefinite Hiatus?
So for those of you that do actually care where I went Iâm not dead.
Muse has left me surprise surprise. Considering this is like my 3rd or 4th time with a Hope blog I think itâs safe to say itâs just not meant to be. I really thought with a nice good old Nier Automata AU to go off he would actually stick for once but with those rpers down to a small handful as well as a dead FFXIII fandom I donât have much to do here.Â

When the base he was stationed at was attacked Hope had honestly panicked. Of course the rest of the MTs had quickly activated and charged into battle without a second thought, and while his core programming urged him to do the same his more human side ended up hesitating knowing this would not end for him the slightest, especially when he caught sight of the Kingsglaive uniforms.Â

As cowardly as he knew it was he found himself keeping to the shadows and darting to the control tower in an effort to both hide and see how the bases defenses were doing. To his luck of course he wasnât even half way there before he bumped right into a pink haired female Glaive making him stop dead in his tracks.
Closing his eyes he hoped she would end him quickly, though found that no pain ever came to him. Cracking open an eye in confusion he then realized the woman before him had absolutely no idea that he wasnât human.
Just a random scared child in this mayhem...

The higher ups had begun to grow suspicious of the former Tenebrean guard. Hope couldnât blame them once he skimmed Guyâs file, thinking they had every right to slightly assume the blonde might be up to something. Now tasked with keeping a close eye on him he followed close behind Guy while on patrol, noticing that he did seem to be a bit nervous.Â
âIs it because Iâm an MT or is it because I look like a child?â He finally questioned to break the silence.Â

Prompto looked sheepish as the younger android stared at him with disbelief. He knew that it was ridiculous how many times he went in for maintenance to repair a limb or to even when he had some head trauma that damaged a part of his circuits.
âItâs not like I can help it when Iâm sent out on a mission and that the Lucians fight back,â the older blonde responded. âTheyâre a feisty bunch.â
âIâm aware of that but with your track record of needing repairs Iâm really starting to doubt that you exercise any caution at all.â With a sigh the smaller MT approached to examine the damage up close with a frown.Â
âIt looks like this time itâll have to be replaced entirely. You know Iâm not technically supposed to be doing this right?â

Hope was often on the fence about how he felt about Prompto. Often the blonde was a bit to clingy with him, calling him things like âcuteâ or âadorableâ and while he had grown used to his usual cheerful behavior he was still often annoying at times. At this current moment he could only stare at the blonde MT and sigh as his eye twitched.
âHow?â He half demanded, staring at his limp broken arm in disbelief. âThis is the third time this month you know.â Naturally Prompto kept on coming back to him and begging him to help fix it so no one else would find out, mainly General Loqi.

Hope wasnât sure if should be more surprised at his mission orders, or the fact at how draw dropping Insomnia was actually turning out to be. Arrangements had been made for the small inconspicuous MT to infiltrate the grand capitol, posing as an exchange student. No one batted an eye at the teen snapping dozens of pictures on his phone that he of course would be forwarding right to command in Nifleheim.Â
It wasnât long before a strange young woman caught his eye, or rather than the fact that she was staring right at him. Blinking in confusion for a moment he instinctively activated his heat vision only to curse under his breath once he did confirm that she wasnât human.Â
With his vision returning to normal he mustered up the courage to approach her directly and just hope that his cover wasnât already blown.
âI donât know how much you know but Iâd appreciate it if you keep it to yourself.â

With a deep sigh Hope slowly raised his hands and slowly turned around. It wasnât hard for him to look small, helpless, and afraid. Most wouldnât dare to shoot an unarmed child after all.Â

Question was what would he do once he got this blonde to lower his guard? Was he worth fighting?

Yet as he once again missed the target by several inches he did have to wonder why he was so bad at this. He was an MT for the sixes sake! Any worse then this would get him slapped with a big old defective label for sure...Perhaps thatâs why he was used as a spy instead of harsh combat.Â

Ignis watched the kid take off, still undecided on if his story was true or not. He would remain extra vigilant for the time being and pass the exchange on to Gladio as well. Prompto and Noctis didnât need to worry about these matters, it would only complicate things for them. Their kindness may interfere with assessing the situation properly.
For the night they returned to the inn and made a horrifying discovery about Jared. Ignisâ heart went out to the boy for losing his only family like that and immediately began various plans to strike back even before Noctis gave the order. Theyâd have revenge for this.
Their plan had gone perfectly, and Ignis now had the general hung over his should to take him hostage outside. He was stopped by a familiar face came into view.
âSo I was right all along. Sure you wouldnât mind my taking him if your father really was in danger.â If the boy was going to use a dagger then heâd use his spear. Simple matter of reach being a deciding factor in battle.
He summoned it to his hand and dropped the unconscious general to the ground, confident he could overpower the boy. He cast one last glare at Hope then charged in with his spear with lightning-fast reflexes for the trust.
Gulping nervously knowing that he wasnât built for much combat, the tiny MT didnât have much time to react before Ignis attacked without any further hesitation. Cursing under his breath he instinctively brought up his free arm to attempt to block the blow, barely wincing when the spear tore right through him since pain was thankfully not part of his programming.
âI was hoping youâd hesitate attacking a child.â
Knowing he couldnât keep Ignis still much longer he tore his arm free and yanked the lance closer to him in hopes of getting the tactician in his range of being sliced up nicely.
