It’s 1pm, and everyone else is out for lunch. The room is quiet, chilly as usual, empty save for my table and yours up front. I’d have my headphones in, working away at my part of the presentation. I’d re-word my slides over and over again, making sure they were perfect for you.

You’d sit at your desk typing away on your computer, doing God knows what. Your leg jitters under the table. Your usual can of diet sits half-empty beside you; rivulets slide down my to-go cup of iced coffee. Periodically we sip at our drinks, caffeine addicts of different nature.

Far too soon it’s 2pm, and I hear the beginnings of laughter outside. I pluck out my earphones, finally raise my head. You do the same, stretch your back, roll your shoulders. As everyone else fills the room, our eyes meet over the top of my computer screen.

You smile at me, and my heart flutters.

Dreamt about him again. He came up behind me and pressed himself against my back, propped his chin on my head and pulled me closer by the waist. Istg it felt so real. I could feel the shaking of his chest when he spoke, hear his laughter right beside my ear. I don’t even remember where we were or what we were doing, just leaning my head back against his chest and intertwining our fingers together across my stomach.
