It's called "top drop" and it sucks. Being a (good) dom is a lot of work a lot of the time. Not always, sometimes it's chill, but really frequently. Coming down out of that watchful, careful, alert state where you have accepted a shitton of responsibility for another person's physical and emotional safety is rough. If something was intense enough for a sub to have drop, the dom is probably dealing with some as well. Personally, mine hits after I've gotten my partner through their drop if they have any; until then I'm on the job. It can be a couple of days.
