Not so fun facts about this:

This is treated as a 1965-1975 story, but the last leaded automotive gasoline sales in the US were in 1995.

People still get sick as a result of childhood lead exposure from this period.

We know lead exposure can lead to violent mental health break downs but we never went back to all the people in prison for sudden violent outbreaks to see if maybe some of them should be released because they were fucking poisoned.

We’re arguably not entirely out of the Lead Age, it’s still used in aviation and there are still communities - especially poor marginalized communities - exposed to lead in water pipes, in paint, in polluted soil and in cosmetics, toys and ceramics.

This problem is much much bigger in Africa and South-East Asia, where a lot of people are exposed to lead in mining, producing and recycling our used batteries and electronic devices.
