🎞️TOP FILMS OF 2025🎞️

We've finally made it to the best films (that I've seen) this year.

Horror came in clutch for me, adding six films to my list. Ryan Coogler ripped our throats out with SINNERS early in the year matching soul, the blues and a blood sucking good time. Osgood Perkins exploded bloody chunks into our mouths with hilarity and terror in THE MONKEY. We saw the first horror film ever to star the sweetest canine companion in a horror film in Shudder's GOODBOY. Stephen King & Mark Hamill bloodied our feet with joyous and emotional moments from Cooper Hoffman & David Johnson in THE LONG WALK. Sophie Thatcher showed Jack Quaid she was more than just a throwaway toy in THE COMPANION.

Shocking for me, a horror anime took a leading spot, becoming one of my favorite film going experiences this year as my boy Denji continues to find love in all the wrong places in CHAINSAWMAN: REZE ARC.

The Predator franchise proved it wasn't down and out just yet with the most fun sci-fi action romp of the year from director Dan Trachtenberg, who might I add has saved that franchise and really claimed it as his own.

Before discussing my horrific number one pic, I'd love to give focus to Rob Reiner's final film, SPINAL TAP II. Sure it's a sequel nobody asked for, but I loved every god damn minute of it.

James Gunn gave us the best SUPERMAN film in a very long time. Thank you for getting this character right!

But it was Guillermo del Toro who completely knocked me on my ass with his beautiful rendition of the classic tale, FRANKENSTEIN. I knew nobody but Del Toro could deliver such an on-point version of literature's most infamous creature, like he could, mixing the look of renowned illustrator Bernie Wrightson and sticking to the haunting tale of Mary Shelley. Oscar Isaac's performance was so engaging and intense around some of the most beautiful set pieces I have ever seen. Del Toro built an amazing world we were all able to live in for two hours and thirty minutes. I could have stayed far longer.

There you have it! I'm excited for what films are coming to theaters in 2026! See any of these?

✨TOP TV OF 2025✨

Not the return of one, but TWO Mike Judge animated series making this year's list. BEAVIS & BUTT-HEAD is my silly comfort show, but man, I did not realize how much I needed KING OF THE HILL back in my life. It was done so incredibly well and made my # 1 spot.

Meanwhile, Andrew Deyoung & Tim Robinson's THE CHAIR COMPANY was unlike anything we have ever seen on tv. It's weird, engaging and hilarious in the most dry comedic ways.

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS from Joe Bennett, Steve Hely (and Mike Judge once again!) was the best answer to BREAKING BAD meets THE MIDNIGHT GOSPEL from Adult Swim.

Apple gave us more to SEVERANCE than I ever thought we needed, and now desperately need more. While Seth Rogen spoke to the cinephile in all of us and served some of the best behind-the-scenes looks at Hollywood, all while pulling off amazing long shots. Ready for season 2 already!

Superheroes who just want peace but will never have any came from James Gunn with the second season of PEACEMAKER and Robert Kirkman's third season of INVINCIBLE.

Finally we have horror brought to television in the best ways with more ALIEN storytelling involving new types of space creatures taking over your insides with ALIEN: EARTH, along with Aaron B. Koontz amazing adaptation of Tim Seeley's comic REVIVAL on SYFY bringing the dead back to life in a very real and terrifying way.

TOP COMICS OF 2025: It's that time of year again. Top comics, TV series and films coming at ya! This year Geoff Johns Ghost Machine titles hit big with the introduction of The Matinee Monster being introduced in GM's first horror series, HYDE STREET. Along with the return of Rook in ROOK: EXODUS. Then we have Junkyard Joe showing up in GEIGER and The Northerner showing up in REDCOAT. The Unamed is my favorite thing happening in comics right now and Geoff really knows what us comic readers are looking for when it comes to quality art as well as storytelling.

Next up, DC is delivering huge with their absolute series of books. ABSOLUTE MARTIAN MANHUNTER by Deniz Camp & Javier Caster delivered big this year with one of the most beautiful comics I've ever read. And to no one's surprise, ABSOLUTE BATMAN kicks my face in with that Bane battle from Scott Snyder & Nick Dragotta.

DC also stayed in the game by surprising me with THE ICE CREAM MAN duo W. Maxwell Prince & Martin Morazzo taking on the man of steel with SUPERMAN: THE KRYPTONITE SPECTRUM, which has now become my favorite Superman book of all time.

Next we have James Tynion IV & Michael Walsh bringing us a greedy battle to the death on Halloween night with EXQUISITE CORPSES.

Then a major surprise this year from the SPAWN universe, Chris Killian & Andrew Sanders I SAW SANTA where Santa Claus meets the most naughty child on planet earth, and boy was it a gory surprise.

And last but not least we return to Hells Kitchen with a beaten down Matt Murdock & Frank Castle in DAREDEVIL: COLD DAY IN HELL from Charles Soule & Steve McNiven.

This was definitely a fun year for comics and cannot wait to see what 2026 has in store for us. But all I know is, GHOST MACHINE has us covered for greatness!
