My post tonight is Oh men again!!
With the on going war after war, it tend to get you down and perhaps us women need to take over! Do we ever learn from history
Nope,,,, it appears not,,,,,
Now the absolute silliest military encounter in history I encountered in the library today has to be the 1788 Battle of Karánsebes.
This incident during the Austro-Turkish War involved no enemy soldiers; instead, an Austrian army mistakenly attacked itself, resulting in up to 1,200 casualties and the panicked retreat of their own forces.
The comedy of errors unfolded in the following stages:
The Stolen Schnapps, the Austrian scouts had bought back alcohol from local Romanians to share with their infantry.
When the other infantry arrived, they demanded some alcohol too and a fight broke out between the two groups.
During the scuffle, someone yelled,
"The Turks! The Turks! which triggered pure, unadulterated panic.
Look its friendly fire, ( don't you just love that description) Soldiers shooting at shadows, mistaking their own retreating comrades for the Ottoman army.
The Retreat. Amidst the chaos, an Austrian cavalry officer ordered the infantry to fire in the dark. And the Infantry fired on the cavalry, thinking it was a Turkish charge.
Eventually, the entire Austrian line broke, and thousands fled into the night in sheer terror.
I guess New Yorkers at Madison Square Garden told Trump how they really feel about him, huh?
Hey ur recent post has a pic with a hijabi wearing a punk is not dead shirt and two older ladies who look mad...why is that? I completely disagree with Saudi women not being able to drive but what does that have to do with the topic?
That image is from Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi’s two-part graphic novel and animated film about growing up in Iran during the Islamic revolution. She was a rebel and I’m using that image to represent female rebellion to Islamic restrictions.
The books are amazing, I can’t recommend them enough!
RIP Marjane Satrapi, everyone READ THE GRAPHIC NOVELS AND WATCH THE ANIMATED MOVIE!
