THE CRYPTERS DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR SELF-INSERT

There I said it. Because all this defensive “my self insert is so better than actual characters” make my eyes roll out my head.

Aside of Kadoc, built to be Guda’s “foil,”  who is mostly projecting his insecurity and self-loathing, and actually doesn’t hate “Guda”, because he just is too shaken about his “dying” experience, and has tried to make himself nastier as a defense mechanism (it’s like is a reflection on his LBs, by the way - the LBs sometimes reflect themes and traumas of the Crypters, it’s like is compatible). Despite being a kind person underneath. Which is stressed by Mashu, Da Vinci and Anastasia. He barks nasty words because he’s scared and wants to live, and perceives everything is the survival of the fittest and he’s gonna be devoured if he doesn’t toughen up. Like how the Russian LB inhabitants forgot their softer emotions, he’s trying to harden himself but it doesn’t work - Anastasia doesn’t let him lose himself. He’s also a huge tsundere. 

(Just in case this isn’t clear in translation, in JP, Guda addresses the Crypters with name or surname-san, but to Kadoc, he is “Kadoc-kun” to indicate there’s a proximity the self insert character feels to Kadoc specifically).  

Ophelia doesn’t even know Guda’s “name.” She doesn’t hate or feels jealous or anything. Same as Pepe, who is super friendly person with everyone. Daybit’s opinion is mysterious in general, but doesn’t hate or feels any hostility toward Chaldea or Guda as far as we know. Wodime wants to crush Chaldea because he’s not an idiotic arrogant enemy and takes any threat seriously. It’s nothing personal. 

Two Crypters do hate Guda for real: Hinako and Beryl.
