The acclaimed Japanese singer's queer identity is a positive sign of things to come.

They are such a formative force in my journey, even the subtle acknowledgment of bisexual feelings when describing Tomodachi already felt wonderfully validating. Having them, a prolific and influential Japanese pop star, an artist and influenced across the world … embracing their Queer identity and sharing it has left me gutted from the emotional catharsis it has erupted.

It is not an exaggeration to say their music gave me solace and comfort in truly dark and (self) life threatening moments of my young adult years.

Too joyful and validated and proud and excited and overwhelmed.

I really hope these two ended up a thing after the show did em both so dirty. HJP deserved plot outside of being rejected ALOT by Dalmi and InJae deserved more then being cold and work driven. These two characters were under written after the brilliant backgrounds and set up they had and i still think a lot about it...

I just have to say that Ko Mun Yeong smiling at Sang-Tae, telling him they’ll take pictures together even without Gang-tae for the book...absolutely precious. Such character development. Like this is something she purely did for Sang-tae after seeing that he was upset that he got ready and was excited for it - I love how clear it is from her change in facial expressions from the very beginning of this scene. This was honestly such a selfless act on her part considering she was already hurting from Gang-tae’s words. And she definitely didn’t do this for Gang-tae either. The way she she smiles at Sang-tae like she just made her child happy...my HEART.

The development of her familyship with sang-tae is handled so well. It grows and becomes special to her, for her. Their friendship is their own, beyond their individual relationships with KT!!! Ugh I so agree :)

i'm so relieved that the writers didn't make ko mun-yeong see her father before he died. that they didn't make her forgive him, or soothe him, before his death, and that he never got that closure. too often children are forced to forgive their parents in kdramas and i'm glad that kmy pointed out how wrong that is, and that she owes him nothing

Honestly. For so long, dramas and films have done away with character development for the sake of plot twists and shocker reveals and for the first time in a long time, IONTBO focused its energy on the development of its characters, on their wounds, and then the show gave them the pace to find their own sense of healing and resolution, to find peace at last in a way that didn’t feel unrealistic or unattainable to ordinary people also struggling. The thing about this drama was that even though the murder subplot was there, at the end of the day, the focus and central tenant of the show was, you know, people— ordinary, hurt people carrying years of guilt or heartache or grief or darkness, and IONTBO portrayed those journeys with so much care and love and respect. This show allowed its characters to be messy and illogical and stubborn and it depicted the way in which healing isn’t always linear. It’s not always pretty and straightforward and sometimes it’s crying and numbness and missed meals and then it’s warm hands catching you before you hit the ground, and then it’s a gentle voice reminding you of who you still want to be. This drama accomplished so much exploration while still returning to those central pillarss— we’re all just kids who want to be loved, we can’t erase but we can overcome, connection is what makes us strong, and above all, It’s Okay Not To Be Okay.

I confess I was also sad that the cover was Ugetsu with Akihito because I'm in the vibe of Akihito's confession in recent chapters to Haruki. I am very looking forward to seeing more about this relationship. But I fully agree that it's a stupid exaggeration for some to speak badly of Kizu just for that. The cover is as wonderful as all the art it makes. One of the most beautiful and still is the first cover of a yaoi manga on Pash. I'm so glad she did it because I love her work so much.
