{ ooc - Hey guys! I think it’s been pretty obvious by now that I haven’t been active for a long time. I’m just re-clarifying that I am currently on a HIATUS from this muse, until it comes back to me or if the H/otline Miami RP community springs back into life again. Could be in a few weeks, or several months; we shall see. Until then, take care everyone!
ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴ: ᴇᴍᴏᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ sᴛᴀᴛᴇ ᴍᴏsᴛ ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛɪᴍᴇ Richter’s personality is mostly best described as stoic and leveled, he doesn’t react more than he needs to and often keeps a cap on his emotions. He has a bad habit of keeping his feelings bottled up to prevent showing any weaknesses, even to those closest to him. This may lead to keeping an emotional front that everything is fine on his end, ex; when his mother asks if everything is alright - Richter plays it off as if there’s nothing wrong. He tends to dislike when others worry about him, causing him to hide most internal problems which he eventually never ends up dealing with.

“Same to you! Swing by the house if you ever need anything.” He was actually considering making a spare key for Richter to have access to his equipment whenever he needed it. The only other person to have a spare was Zeke… It was a symbol of ultimate trust. Not that people didn’t seem to be finding their way inside his house more frequently as it was, though…
Fury clicked his tongue and smiled slightly. “No, it’s fine. It’s only natural you’d want to check up on that front. Shit hit the fan at about the same time, right? That’s some freaky shit I can’t get my head around,” he laughed, sliding his drink from one hand into the other. At the mention of someone new, he was leaning in at the speed of light. “What, really? Tell me, tell me!”
His expression soured momentarily. It was true, dating someone of their world had turned out to be a bit of a mess, hadn’t it? Fury just wanted what was best for Richter, though- a relationship that would stray away from drama as much as possible. “Yeah, you’re right, shit.” His eyebrow raised, though, a sly grin on his face. “And? Are you just going to keep her in the dark? Tell her how you feel! I want to see you with a cutie dangling from your arm.”
When the topic was redirected to him, he couldn’t help but grin and nod. “You’re not going to believe it, but… It’s actually someone successful. Like, his face is in the papers and everything… I swear I had no idea! It was total chance, but he’s so nice, Rich. He’s the sweetest guy, and I… Well, I’m nervous I might be rebounding, but it just feels right, you know? It feels like it’s meant to.” From what he understood, anyway. Polar opposite of his past relationship? Yeah, that seemed about right.
He hid slightly behind his hand. Gushing wasn’t something he was used to doing.
❝Yeah?❞ He remarked, listening to Fury. In all honesty, he had yet to get used to these kind of discussions. He took another sip of his drink before it was empty, which prompted him to order another. While he felt awkward and uncomfortable towards the topic at first, he soon warmed up to the concept of talking about people they were interested in. Besides, he liked seeing Fury happily describe someone, it took plenty of concern off of his already stressed shoulders. ❝I’m happy for you man, glad things are looking up.❞
Yet of course Fury pried at Richter to hear more. It was really something that came to no surprised, Fury seemed to always find these sort of subjects to be enticing, while Richter felt stiff. He rubbed at his face in reluctance, he wasn’t sure where to start. A sigh settled his inner conflict and he eventually caved. ❝Pretty sure you don't already know this one.❞ He joked, referencing his previous relationship and how Fury had known her in more ways Richter was previously comfortable with. The bartender slid over another glass, causing Richter to continue. ❝But uh... she’s real pretty. Brunette, nice eyes.❞ He began as he took another taste of his new drink, dropping his hand back to the counter. ❝Met her at a bar - not here.❞ He had to clarify. ❝Then things just sort of… clicked.❞ He smirked subtly - then came the shocker. ❝She’s with the police.❞ Richter remarked almost casually. He chuckled, making a slight wincing face as if to express the tension of that discovery. But then his shoulders were pushed into a shrug, as if he didn’t really mind it after all.

“Teasing the birthday boy, have you no shame?” He shook his head with a chuckle, ordering himself a mint julep. He wanted to start the night off fresh. He folded his hands and met Richter’s eyes with his own, a smile pushing at his lips as he heard about Rosa. He knew there was nothing that could be done for her, deep down, but he remained optimistic. He lived in the now. And the now was that she seemed okay.
“Good, good! That’s excellent news.” His cheeks lit up slightly. “I miss her too! I want to go over- I’ve been meaning to, it’s just work’s been such a nightmare lately. And the calls keep getting traced back to bogus locations, right?” How many did those fuckers even have? It was getting tiring. But for Richter’s sake, and Rosa’s by extension, he’d press on. “I’ll go over later this week, though. I promise. Maybe we can go hunting sometime soon, too.”
Fury rolled his eyes and leaned back. “Ugh! Don’t even remind me of that trainwreck… That’s two months of my life I’m never getting back,” he scowled, putting a hand to his head. “But things are looking way up. There’s actually something I have to tell you, on that note… But first I want to know how you’re holding up. You find anyone new?”
His drink was slid over to him, and he wasted no time sipping on it as he waited for an answer. He really hoped Richter found a sweet girl he could settle down with. One who understood his ins and outs, and who eventually wouldn’t have a problem with his way of life. She’d have to be strong-willed, that was for sure. Maybe a fellow hitman…?
❝It’s no problem.❞ The man remarked, clearing his throat. His glance fleeted from his company to look down at the bar counter. He knew how things were, they lead complicated lives with their work. ❝But you’re always welcome over.❞ The genuine smile was still present on his face. He had to put it one way, Fury was like a brother to him. After all they managed to go through, in the end it only strengthened their trust and camaraderie with each other.
Richter let out an easy chuckle as he folded his arms across the counter, his gaze finally returning to the male sitting next to him. ❝Sorry I brought him up.❞ He said, grinning gently. In reality, he felt pity for Fury, nobody should have to go through those circumstances. But at least things managed to work out in the long run by him making the better move, cutting his ties and starting fresh.
When Fury asked if there was someone new he was involved with, he offered a soft nod. ❝Well...yeah, actually. There is someone.❞ Richter said, rolling his shoulders into a loose shrug. To be honest, It hadn’t felt too long ago that they were back in a bar, talking about this sort of topic. His last relationship ended sourly, but he tried not to dwell on it too much. ❝And no, she’s not another operator.❞ He didn’t use the word hitman, they were fortunate they were in a dingy dive bar with questionable people, otherwise it would seem suspicious. Richter let out a hasty sigh and threw the younger male a glance. ❝I mean, you know how well that worked out the last time,❞ He remarked sarcastically. Truthfully speaking, she was the farthest thing from a hitman that one could guess, for good reason too.
He took another sip from his glass and lowered it back down to the counter. ❝We’re not together or anything, but I..uh. I like her.❞ He laughed lightly, realizing how stupid it sounded. But it was the truth, no use in denying it. ❝And you? Any luck?❞

Rewind, Rewind...
Although Fury had grown accustomed to the nightclub scene more so than the dive bar one, he was never opposed to having a few drinks at one- and he was definitely never opposed to seeing Richter. The man was the first to cross the barrier of what Fury considered friends and what he considered family. He’d been an essential pillar of support in Fury’s life, in this city in which he’d started off with no one, as he’d stuck by him: during jobs, through heartbreaks, and through episodes. Richter had always been the one person Fury was sure he could call.
The fuzzy hockey game in the corner was entirely disregarded, Fury far too busy beaming up at Richter to care for sports. Although usually he’d be the one buying, it warmed his heart that Richter was going to treat him. Hell, it warmed his heart that he’d remembered his birthday at all! “Don’t get mad if I order a little over the budget.”
He narrowed his eyes and offered his friend a playful scowl. “I should throw that drink in your face for that comment.” As useful as his baby face could be, he really hoped he’d grow out of it some day. “No, man, I’m 24. I’m almost caught up to you.”
He’d make a mental note to add a couple extra years to Richter’s next birthday. It would be his sweet revenge; he could never bring himself to hurt Richter in any other way. It was funny, how they’d started off as mere business associates and were now thick as thieves. It was due to this he was able to comfortably ask him questions about his daily life. “We need to talk about a lot. Like, a lot. How are you, for starters? How’s mom?”
A slight scoff emitted from the man’s mouth after his company made his comment about going over the budget, although the smile didn’t dissipate from his lips anytime soon. Richter had a knack for teasing the younger male and he knew he enjoyed throwing it back at him in return. He let out a soft, easy chuckle, jacket clad arms adjusting onto the bar counter as he situated himself to become more comfortable while sitting next to the other. ❝ Oh yeah, that’s right. ❞ He finished his sarcastic words off with a laugh. Of course he knew how old Fury was really turning, he just liked to pull his leg. Especially because his facial features seemed so boyish, he was sure Fury hadn’t heard the end of those kind of jokes, but Richter meant well.
A firm nod followed Fury’s remark about catching up. There was a lot he needed to ask and answer, regardless, he was looking forward to getting an idea as to how Fury was genuinely doing. ❝ For starters? I’m alright. ❞ An honest reply. He grabbed his glass again, allowing himself to take another short swig of the whiskey. There was still a lot going on in his life, the hits continued as usual but it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. ❝ She’s doing fine. I actually think she’s doing better, she’s ambitious, you know? ❞ He smiled weakly, he knew his mother’s condition wouldn’t change anytime soon, but for her sake she was always so positive. That was enough to keep him in high spirits, it was one less thing to worry about.
❝ You gotta come over sometime again, I think she misses you, ❞ Richter laughed. Truth was, his mother had quite a liking for Fury. Even though the dinner table topics were often stiff and awkward whenever she asked about how the two men met each other, they’d usually make up excuses or beat around the bush. It was amusing to think back on.
❝ What about you? Last time we talked, you just got over what’s-his-face. How’re you feeling now? ❞

The place was dark and musty with the scent of cigarette smoke. A thickly based television had been left on in the corner, displaying the latest hockey game, its quality deteriorating due to how poor the set had been treated over the years. It was a classic dive bar, give or take. The bartender slid over a half full glass of whiskey over the counter to the man adjusting his position on the bar stool. A subtle nod of thanks was tossed to the man who served him, but Richter knew it wouldn't be his last drink for the night. ❝ So…❞ He began, green eyes lifting to land onto the features of his friend Fury. ❝ As I said before, drinks are on me tonight.❞ He lifted his glass in the direction of the younger male, a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
Tonight was a special occasion. It wasn't too often now of days they managed to go out, but today was definitely an exception. ❝...How old did you turn again? Fifteen? ❞ Richter teased, he couldn't resist the chuckle that erupted from his chest. There weren't too many people he was aware of that made him feel this comfortable or simply put - could pull him out of his shell. Fury was one of those people.
He took a steady sip of alcohol before setting the glass back down onto the bar counter. Letting the memories come rushing back; the hitman had stuck with him through thick and thin, despite meeting each other under such complicated terms. The very least Richter could do is treat him to a good time. They had a lot of good memories together, especially those that occurred in pubs or in dark joints like this. Even those moments where they resulted in stirring up trouble publically were good. Those memories were especially good. He'd remember instances where they'd get themselves thrown out by starting fights, arguments and everything in between. Despite all, Richter was simply satisfied with the idea of just being able to relax and have a few drinks with him. Without a doubt, there was definitely a lot of catching up to do.

Richter’s glance dropped down to the rat mask in his hands. What had he done? The light in the room had dimmed into something dark, eerie and unsettling for reasons unknown. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but something was just - off. He wasn’t sure if he was hallucinating again or if this was just another dream? There, in the corner of his room was the man in the rooster mask.
His question arose a multitude of thoughts within the man, but he didn’t bother to answer at first. He simply stared down at the rubber mask held within his hands. Eyes dark, looking tired and lifeless. Maybe it was a reflection of himself; he sure had enough of their calls, their demands and threats against him and his mother. He wasn’t sure how much more of this he could take, especially now that he went against his code and killed an innocent woman.
Finally, he turned so his green gaze met the empty holes of that of the rooster’s. His shoulders dropped as his stare looked hesitant to meet with the bizarre figure standing in the corner of the room. He tossed the mask onto his bed and walked past the man. Gripping the doorknob, he didn’t look back. He merely uttered: “I’m sorry.” And left.

This hit strayed far away from 50 blessings’ usual assignments. Instead of the disorientating venue of a night club or the seclusion of a warehouse, they had sent him to a nondescript house in the slums. The domestic vibe here was an eerie change of pace.
Despite the sense of foreboding that had him yearning to turn around and step right back onto that bus, 50 blessings had already enlightened him on how they treat failure. It just wasn’t an option.
Tom donned his Halloween-store fox mask before shimmying a side window open. He resembled a nightmare, bloodied mask peeking out from under a black hood as he crawled through an open window; his slate-grey machete could be one long, lethal claw. Cautiously, he left the room he entered through and continued to explore.
The small hand on the clock ticked towards the twelve. Richter bent towards the dip in the sink, splashing cold water onto his face. He rose himself to meet his gaze in the mirror, it was getting late but he couldn’t seem to sleep a wink. Studying himself in the water stained reflection; there was a small indent along the corner of his mouth, it was a scar. The man recalled the cause of the scar like it was yesterday, while in reality it was only about three months ago.
He wasn’t sure why it happened, or why he did it. Why he decided to spare his life despite all Richter had done. The man in the rooster mask, the same person that left the police station in utter carnage. By the end of his assault the station was void of life for the exception of Richter; whom he left alive. Managing to escape from the prison while it lay in destruction, he decided to spend his time as a fugitive by laying low. He didn’t go out much. The apartment which he resigned in was borrowed from a friend whom he did a favor for in the past. No use in going back home, he only did so occasionally to check up on his ill mother.
He dried his face with a nearby towel and straightened himself up before heading out of the bathroom. The place was dark, just how he prefered it. Not that he minded the darkness. It was more of his natural environment, he suited well in the shadows. Striding around the corner, he stopped in his tracks. That’s when he saw it - a dark figure standing adjacent from him. What surprised him the most was the mask, this only meant one thing. They wanted him gone. Richter knew he failed to kill the man with the rooster mask and now they had sent someone after him, everything was falling into place.
Green eyes narrowed into an intense stare, he didn’t exchange a single word with the ominous man standing only several feet from him. Instead, his hand slowly inched towards an idle lamp resting on a nearby table…

Wrong place at the wrong time. Richter shifted his body to turn immediately once he heard the sound of cracked glass. The room was littered with dead bodies of gangsters in white suits, bullet holes covering the majority of their lifeless corpses.The room lay a mess with debris and shattered glass, all lay in the silence of death for the exception of Richter and the man whom he pointed his gun at. He held his suppressed weapon in the direction of the young male, who didn’t seem intimidated in the least. He managed to toss out a snarky remark even in the midst of the masked man’s hostility.“Yeah, guess so. You with them?” He threw a remark back, almost in a casual tone. He couldn’t be too careful however, who knew who was affiliated with the Russian mafia or even those creeps that kept calling him on the phone with their restless demands.
