Frank's Steak House - House Red
Burgundy:
A pleasant, acidic diversion from an intense burger journey. Tasted distinctly "plant-based". I believe the musical term "in the pocket" describes this wine.
Frank's Steak House - Cambridge, MA

Frank's Steak House - House Red
Burgundy:
A pleasant, acidic diversion from an intense burger journey. Tasted distinctly "plant-based". I believe the musical term "in the pocket" describes this wine.
Frank's Steak House - Cambridge, MA
Charlie’s Kitchen - House Red
Merlot:
Wine like the humId Boston air, cradled posthumously by loving Boston arms. Best drank before or after a whisker gingie.
Charlie’s Kitchen - Cambridge, MA
The Cellar - House White
Bright, with lemony and honeysuckle overtones, yet depressingly insipid. But, depending on your priorities, could be completely acceptable.
Note this is a return to the Cellar - our first visit there in 2010 was an early date with current HWPT husband Charlie Hoey.
The Cellar - Cambridge, MA
Bob's Garage - House White
Chardonnay:
A suspiciously weird party in one's mouth. Creamy (due either to oak aging or an accidental garnish of mozzarella stick) with Turkey Hill vanilla ice cream and amber-based perfume flavors. An acrid, medicinal undertow adds a crucial element of surprise and self-doubt: Does Christmas happen every day? Why are all these people in your living room? Where did those pills go? It's never too late to move to the woods and be a subsistence farmer.
Bob's Garage - Pittsburgh, PA
The Sinclair - House White
Pinot Grigio:
This is just a straight up flim-flam bullshit cotton candy and simple syrup wine-ride in a large ceramic swan. Wine for kids. Wine for me.
The Sinclair - Cambridge, MA
Schnappa Rock - House White
Pinot Gris:
This wine was like an old friend who you haven't seen for a while, and at first it's a little awkward and you're like, hmm, not sure if we're going to get along, and then all of a sudden you remember some inside joke and BAM, it's back to small times, high fives and hugs. Some time passes and you gradually remember why you lost touch - their boorish monotone, the unrelenting smell of grapefruit left in their wake - and you come up with some reason you have to go, and give them your email address, written a little off-kilter in the hopes the difficulty in deciphering your handwriting will be enough to throw them off the trail of getting in touch again.
Right?
That said, I drank my half-bottle's worth.
Schnappa Rock - Matapouri, New Zealand
Baranows Lounge - House White
House White:
Magic was in the air for this pinot gris (maybe) in an evening that was a true carnival for the senses. Bartender pyrotechnics, cigar and whiskey fumes, and the mildly antiseptic citrus and tennis ball flavor of the titular pour conspired to carry me gently throughout the milky night, finally depositing my ass in a soft-focus taxi.
Baranows Lounge - Melbourne, VIC, Oz
Rando Italian Bar - House Red
House Red:
A complex, mutually exclusive, and at times upsetting counterbalance of nougat (like a Milky Way [the Australian kind that is actually a Three Musketeers]) and really fresh mulch. Excellent in diet kalimotxo, adequate on its own.
A bar, Italian in nature, whose name has escaped me - Melbourne, VIC, Oz
Funspot - House Red
Robert Mondavi House Red:
Robert Mondavi house red. I was familiar with the Mondavi vineyards from my experiences on Amtrak, but this new context provides a completely different, but equally delightful experience. A generous pour of oregano, cherry, cedar and white pepper flavors, clean mineral finish. This is -truly- the spot for fun.
Funspot - Laconia, NH
Bob's Garage - House White
House Pinot Grigio:
Everything is perfect in the world at this moment.
Bob's Garage - Pittsburgh, PA
De Prins - House Red
House Red:
Not very exciting, to be perfectly honest. Feels like benedryl, tastes like a shed. Snoozers.
De Prins - Amsterdam, NL
The Sinclair - House Rosé
If you drank nothing but this rosé, you would never say no to love. Grapefruit, Mr. Bubbles, endorphins.
The Sinclair - Cambridge, MA
The Palace - House White
House Pinot Grigio:
Pineapple, babe (sic) powder, strawberry gummy. Positively delightful. Recommended pairings: Lady Gaga, double sided tape.
The Palace - Miami Beach, FL
Cote du Rhone - Toad, Somerville MA. Sweet and syrupy, with a darkness behind its eyes. I’m so full of liquid.
HWPT is BACK BABY
HWPT: 420 Cafe, Plymouth (Taken with Instagram)
This was sweet and tasty. Honeydew, melon, salt.
Pappy and Harriet's - House Red
House Red:
"They had both kinds: red, and white."
Pappy and Harriet's - Pioneertown, CA
Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill - House White
House Chardonnay:
"This was a free, two drink minimum comedy night in LA, and because it was in LA, freaking Maria Bamford was there (and several other very funny funster comedian types). I laughed, I cried, I probably spilled. Then I got Denny's."
Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill - Los Angeles, CA
