Ma'at tapped her cane thoughtfully. Looking between the two thugs who saw a blind old woman and likely thought they'd hit a jackpot.
"Hmmmm... To watch your lips turn blue or see them drip red... It's a difficult question to ask one's self..."
Before the old goddess could make the decision for them, another shadow is cast over the trio and Ma'at turns to the new face. A single brow raised as she waited to see if this would be a good samaritan or another bloke about to have his lungs popped.

The serpent rested upon the stones just beyond the shade of the trees. Eyes closed as chin sitting upon his crossed arm. Back to the sun to allow his scales to absorb its warmth.
The god of chaos and destruction does not bother to look up, or even open his eye, as he hears steps approach.
"If you value your sanity, I would recommend not stepping closer."
Ya know, I have so many icons from when I wrote Maisie, I'm debating if I should use her as the FC for Djin until I have more drawn icons of her...

"What sort of odd little creature is this?" the goddess mused as she knelt down to inspect the strange beast before her. They were small. Small enough to fit into her palm.
Speaking of...
She holds her hand out, a silent offer for them to step forward so she could get a better look.
"Well, aren't you just adorable?" She gently strokes green feathers with her index finger "I am Isis, mother to all Egypt, and who might you be?"

I can not, in good conscience, stand idly by while people are in danger.
That doesn’t change, no matter who I have to face.
꒷꒦︶ I just want to live. Is that so wrong?

Random thought that came to me after seeing a beautifully beaded dress on TikTok
But it does make me sad that, when depicting Ancient Egypt, something a lot of movies get wrong is the clothing. Movies always make it very bland and boring.
Egyptians actually loved beadwork, and would incorporate it into their fashion. Of course, they wouldn't include it in their work clothes (or at least they would keep it more simple depending on the type of job they did), but every day wear, and especially clothing for holidays/parties/special occasions, would have some sort of beadwork. The wealthier you were, the more expensive your beads and the more intricate their designs.
The average person usually had beads made of wood (sometimes painted, sometimes not) or, if they could afford it, turquoise. Some also had gold or silver beads.
This fashion was especially popular amongst women.
Remembered that one Tumblr post that talked about sirens and voices among the stars luring those brave enough to venture into space into the depths. Knocking on the hull and asking to be let in.
Only imagine it's this fucker knocking on the hull to demand what the hell you're doing in his neighborhood.
May decide to kidnap you to bring home to his daughter depending on the answer.
