I have never written xreader things before but man... the gooseboys got to me. Gonna try and do more neutral or even masculine readers because I am in a drought of reader inserts that I can actually insert myself as.
Also be warned: I do not have a dominant bone in my body so most of what I write is going to have the reader be submissive (but will try to write ones with dominant reader because some of those gooseboys are Not doms at all to me)
Also I have no idea what I'm doing here or like what xreader culture is like... so if I fuck it up, my bad and please tell me.
Icon is from this post. Banner from this post. They are Driver cause I love him and he is my pet dog.
Masterlist
Also like feel free to send me requests, can't promise I will write them tho.
I think some of us are sleeping on the fact that in the book Drive at one point Driver goes to tell someone his name and basically gets shut down and told that his name doesn’t matter (and somewhat further more that he doesn’t matter)
Like I want to see that man break just a little bit when he realises that someone cares about him enough to know his name when even his mother never called him by it and even when his father figure didn’t bother to learn it
Shit posting on Tumblr for the first time in ages but Ryan Gosling has captivated me and it irritates me that there’s no love for Stephen Meyers… he’s such a complex character and yet I’ve seen maybe a handful of works about him. Sigh… I heart Stephen… also might I add my undying love for another underrated Rygos, Jacob Palmer? …Jacob x Stephen…? Barpolitcs? Yum. Might I add Luke Glanton? Luke x Driver??? Luke x Court??? Someone hear me
Hi I have a total of one (1) fic written about Stephen and it was written purely for horny reasons but my lovely friend @gottabegreyhound has a few fics which explore his characterisation more (they also do yap about him here and there and it’s great)
Really funny to think about the knowledge gap Eridians and humans are going to have about each other the next time they make contact due to Grace spending the rest of his life on Erid (plus all the information aboard the Hail Mary, and especially the laptops Stratt put basically entire internet on!)
Eridians are going to have a fairly solid grasp of the English language (and possibly even some others), an intimate understanding of the environmental conditions a human needs to thrive as well as their nutritional and psychological needs, a solid grasp of a number of scientific concepts discovered by humans, and decent familiarity with human culture and customs (if probably an American-centric one). Some Eridians might even be explicitly trained as diplomats or ambassadors with the expectation that one day the two cultures might interact more regularly.
Whereas humans are like. Well. There sure are talking rocks in space somewhere!
As someone who reads an absurd amount of military/paramilitary/mercenary/spy books (you know, stuff you’d expect a middle aged white man to like) there is something so refreshing about the grey man books and it is that Court Gentry cannot make a good decision to save his own life. Every five seconds this man is out here like “it would be so stupid if I did this. It would fuck up every good thing I’ve got going right now and for the foreseeable future” and then he does it anyway
You should totally write some wolf-hybrid Court 👉👈
It doesn’t even have to be smutty, just wolf Court interacting with the Goon Squad and the world at large :3

Wolf Court is back in business. He uhh… well he doesn’t kill anyone, but he seriously considers it. I don’t want to spoil anything so just read hehe.

Court walked through the mall with a hat on to cover his ears and his hands were shoved in his hoodie pockets. His tail was stuffed in his baggy sweatpants, but someone could still make out the outline of it if they looked hard enough. Whatever. Anyways.
Sierra was given a few days to chill for once, so everyone had decided to walk around a mall aimlessly and buy absolutely nothing. Well. They bought nothing aside from food, but really it should be expected for 6 grown ass men to devour everything the food court had to offer. Zack had bitched about paying for all of them but was the first one to take out his wallet. He's such a little shit.
"Come on, Goldilocks," Zack shouted for Court to enter the store the others had already walked into. Court huffed at Zack but followed him into the shop, smelling chocolate in the air. Weird, this wasn't a candy store.
Zack saw Court's nose twitch as he glanced around for the source. "What's up?" Zack asked quietly, slowing to walk beside Court.
"Dunno," Court replied. "Just smell something… reminds me of something."
Zack gave him an inquisitive look but didn't push, just hummed before walking a bit ahead of him. Court lagged and felt his ears twitch at a high-pitched sound. He turned to the other side of the store, but had to move between shelves to see what was making the sound. Oh, a kid. Why is he alone?
Court watched the kid for a moment, ready to follow after Zack as the man disappeared down to the aisles further into the store, but something caught his eye. The kid almost looked… afraid? He looked tense— shoulders pulled up and eyes wide, glancing between the aisles.
Court waited in his own aisle on the other side of the store, waiting for the kid's parent to show up but no one showed. Until.
A man came into view between the shelves and placed a firm hand on the boy's shoulder. The kid jumped at the touch and Court saw that he was holding a bag of fudge squares. That would be the smell Court had locked onto.
Court tilted his head as he watched the man bend down to get into the kid's face, whispering harshly to the boy, making the kid tear up but nod repeatedly. Oh, Court did not like this.
Court crossed the store and went into an aisle near the man and child, taking off his hat so his hearing wasn't muffled. His ears twitched as he heard the boy sniffle and the man scold him, telling him to wipe his tears.
Court's ears pulled back and his tail twitched. He glanced over the edge of the shelf to see the man grab the boy by the back of his neck and force him to walk forward towards the store's exit.
Court stepped forward and 'accidentally' bumped into the man. The man almost got thrown to the ground, but— unfortunately— caught himself on a nearby shelf.
Court's ears twitched happily when the man groaned in pain from how hard he fell into the shelf. Court glanced over at the boy and saw that the man had released his grip on the kid. Good, this will be easy now.
Court stepped between the boy and the man, ears pinned back and the hair standing on the back of his neck. His face was blank but his ears definitely betrayed his lack of emotion to the man.
The man righted himself and spun around, ready to yell at whoever had pushed him, but froze when he saw Court. He eventually overcame his shock and looked behind Court.
"Come on, let's go," The man barked at the boy. The boy shrank back against the wall and held the bag of chocolate tightly in his fists.
Court growled softly at the man when he raised a hand out like he was going to take hold of the boy through Court. "Doesn't wanna go with you," Court said emotionlessly.
The man scoffed and grew overconfident. "Yes, he does, he's just throwing a tantrum."
Court took his hands out of his pockets and let them hang at his sides. "Who are you to him?"
The man glanced over at the boy and retracted his arm. The boy shook against the store wall, and Court heard him begin to cry.
Court glanced over his shoulder for a moment and almost whined in sympathy at the sight of this poor boy crying. Court whipped his head back around to face the man. "Answer the question," He sneered.
The man took a step back and realized he was backed against the shelf. He couldn't escape Court even if he tried. Court was in the way of his only exit and there was no way in hell he could dart out to the side without getting grabbed.
Court took one step towards the man, boxing him against the shelf, and growled. The man swallowed and couldn't look Court in the eyes. "Uhh," The man stuttered out. "He's uhh— tell him, kid."
Court narrowed his eyes at the man and turned his ears so he could hear the boy better. The boy was sobbing quietly to himself, gripping the bag of chocolate like a lifeline. "I don't know him," The boy whispered bravely in between sobs.
Court turned his ears back to the man and shot a hand out to grip the man's throat. He didn't even squeeze before the man yelped out for help. The boy behind Court sat down on the floor and buried his head between his folded-up legs.
Of course, the people who responded to a cry for help were Sierra. This guy was beyond fucked now. Court smiled, showing off his sharp canines, and watched the man realize the help he was praying for wouldn't come. Zack and the rest of his squad stood packed together in the aisle, looking between the child crying on the floor and Court pinning a man to a shelf by the throat.
Zack moved first, the others lagging and spreading out so that the man couldn't run. Zack approached the sobbing boy and quietly crouched down to the side of him. He looked over at Court, and Court's eyes softened as he watched the boy cough from crying so hard.
Zack turned back to the boy and whispered to him, coaxing him out of the tight hug he had on his legs. "'Is okay, he won't do anything to you," Zack told the boy and got the boy to stand. "Come on, let's head this way."
The boy reached up to Zack's hand and clung to it tightly, fearing the man helping him would leave. "My mom," The boy whispered and looked down at the chocolate. "I—"
Zack held the boy's hand gently and walked slowly away from where Court was standing with the man now trying to fight out of his grip. "We'll find her, promise," Zack led the boy out of the store, intending on finding security to hand the kid over.
After Zack left Court's field of vision, he tightened his grip on the man's throat and gritted his teeth. "Should kill you for this," He whispered.
The rest of Sierra formed a loose half circle around Court and the man. They all had their arms crossed over their chests, waiting for Court to finish what he was doing— It's not like they cared what happened to this man.
Court leaned in, "I'll make sure you don't get out of prison."
The man didn't even reply, too busy shaking and fighting back tears. Court scoffed at the man and changed his grip on the man so his hand was on the back of his neck, forcing him to walk forward just like the man had done to the boy.
Court didn't have to even exit the store before security showed up and grabbed the man from him. They didn't glance twice at him as they dragged the man out of the store. The man tripped over his own feet repeatedly and the security officers couldn't give a shit as they kept dragging the man away.
Court was seething. His tail kept flicking back and forth, and the hair on the back of his neck was still raised.
One of the boys came up to Court and guided him out of the store and towards one of the exits of the mall. He moved with the group without really knowing he was walking, and ended up sitting outside on a bench.
Zack came out a few minutes later without the kid and sat down beside Court. He waved everyone else away, all of the men looking concerned but understanding that Court needed space, and they walked off just far enough to not hear their whispering.
"Found his mom," Zack started. "Kid is freaked out and the mom was scared, but nothing bad happened.”
"He was being kidnapped. That's something bad," Court snapped back. His foot tapped on the pavement as his ears flattened. "Sorry," He whispered to Zack a moment later.
Zack laid a hand on his shoulder. "You saved him," Zack said softly. "Oh! That reminds me— he said to give you this."
Court's nose twitched at the smell of— "Fudge?" Court asked, head cocked as Zack held out a square piece of fudge.
"Yep," Zack sighed. "It's his thank you for saving him— take it."
Zack shoved the chocolate into Court's hand and Court looked down at the small square in his hand softly. "He didn't have to do that," Court whispered to himself.
His tail wagged happily in his pants, and Court finally got sick of his tail being trapped in the sweats and took his tail out.
Zack snorted as he watched Court's tail wag back and forth happily at what seemed to be a million miles an hour. Court elbowed him in the side and held the fudge up to his face. He sniffed it first and then bit into it.
His tail slowed as he chewed the chocolate and his ears relaxed. Zack glanced at him only for a moment to make sure he was okay, before looking forward at the parking lot.
"I shoulda gotten some chocolate," Zack muttered. "I'm the one who found his mom!"
Court finished the fudge and licked his fingers clean. He cleared his throat and stood from the bench, ready to leave the mall. Zack stood up after him and waved the rest of the group back over.
Court ducked his head in embarrassment as they approached, looking concerned for him. They all slapped a hand on his shoulder or back comfortingly before heading off for the parking lot.
Zack and Court walked after them, listening to them complain about how they 'couldn't find anything at the stores' despite the fact they never would've bought anything anyway.
Court shook his head in amusement and his ears twitched as he heard someone laughing in the distance. No, not someone, it was a child's laugh.
Court stopped walking, right in the middle of the parking lot, and spotted the kid and his mother speaking to the police. The boy's mother was tickling him, getting her baby and herself to calm down after such a traumatic event.
Court smiled at the sight and his tail swished a few times in contentment before he stilled it. Zack smirked at him and went to open his mouth.
"Don't even," Court huffed. He pushed Zack's shoulder so the man would continue walking towards their car.
Zack patted Court on the back. "You did good.”
Court hummed in acknowledgment but didn't respond verbally. Zack glanced up at his ears and then down to his face, expression confused.
"What happened to your hat?" Zack asked.
Court thought for a moment. "Guess it's still in the store," He shrugged. "Was in the way."
Zack shook his head fondly. "What's with you and losing shit, man?"
Court rolled his eyes but felt more relaxed now than he'd been since walking into that store.
He wasn't lying when he said he'd make sure that man stayed behind bars. Court ended up freaking out— scaring— Hanley enough to pull some strings so the man would have a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Court felt better after that. He even rewarded himself with some fudge.
I think we should give Stephen migraines that he tries to work through because they’re “not that bad” when he should really be taking time off to recover but he is a stubborn bastard and has also been taught that he only has worth when he’s valuable
Hey guys if you get tagged by this account saying you have to do identity verification do not do anything they tell you, I’m like 99.99% sure this is a scam.
Reasons why I think it’s a scam
- I haven’t done anything that would require identity verification (they’re only tagging artists for some reason)
- this account only has one post and they only posted it an hour ago
- this isn’t the official tumblr account and it’s just a bunch of numbers
- this post is ai generated

thinking about how we’re shown that julian hallucinates about getting the retribution he feels he deserves — the vision he has while he’s with mai, reaching into that dark doorway and having his arm cut off, the exact punishment that chang enacts. and we’re also shown (and told in the script) that chang believes julian is innocent, knows he’s not at fault for what happened. perhaps knows, or begins to realise, exactly how much julian isn’t at fault, is a victim of circumstance. chang clearly doesn’t want to punish or kill julian, he has ample opportunity to do it.
all this to suggest — the scene at the end, chang finally cutting off julian’s hands, not being real.
it’s what julian thinks he deserves, what chang knows he doesn’t, and sure, maybe chang finally does it out of some sense of mercy, once all the rest of it is over. he knows julian won’t rest until he feels he’s been sufficiently punished for his sins, and chang knows he’s committed many, so maybe he finally takes julian out to that quiet bit of forest and brings the sword down across his forearms.
or maybe it’s another hallucination. just what julian sees while he’s dragging a blade across his own wrists.
The fact he got Chang’s sword from his home to go kill his mother, and COULD’VE kept the damn thing to try to kill himself later… Jesus.
Julian burning himself in the script and not feeling anything. Self-punishment and self-harm are his normal, so why wouldn’t he just try to cut off his own limbs? It’s what ‘God’ wants— whether that’s Chang, a dream, a hallucination, or his mother. It could be any person in his head telling him to do it, or maybe it’s just Julian being tired of existing. Of being this evil, bloody, demonic being that is his mother’s slave.
Chang forgiving Julian in the script which makes Julian VISIBLY relax… I think about that often. He needed that so much.
And the way he was so attentive to all of the information he could find on Chang. Chang is his guardian angel— his mother was actually right about something, for once. Julian needs someone on a pedestal to look up to because he has no direction on his own. He’s nothing without someone controlling (or guiding, because Chang isn’t awful) him... but Chang sets him free by killing his mother— his torturer. So Julian offers himself up at the end of the movie, or maybe he not. Who knows? I don’t think he died, I don’t even know if he did lose his hands in the movie. It’s definitive in the script, but the movie… it’s a reflection of Julian’s psyche— fractured and confusing.
Okay, rant over. This movie— Julian, specifically— makes me insane.
