WoW thoughts
So WoW is now a teenager....13 long years.
I got curious, so I did the math.
In my history with the game, I have spent:
$1445 in subscription fees
$300 on the base game and all its expansions
$680 on character services (race changes, faction changes, server transfers)
For a total of: $2425
However, it has given me a combined total playtime across all my characters of 306 days...which is actually a lot less than I had anticipated (seeing as I know people who, like me, have played since Vanilla and have OVER A YEAR of playtime on just their mains).
But still though, that works out to roughly $0.33 per hour of gameplay. I know that’s not the *best* cost per hour out of all the games in my library. But looking at it this way...and thinking about all the fun I’ve had with the game, all the great people I’ve met playing the game, and how much the game and its lore [as bullshit crazy as it may be from time to time] have meant to me and my own mental stability at times...33 cents an hour is pretty fucking good.
I may not be the hardcore WoW player that I used to be....I can’t; life doesn’t allow for it anymore....but I know WoW is going to be one of the few games that I will never be able to give up for good (well, until Blizzard shuts down the servers in idk 2059 or some shit) and I am okay with that. I am casual af and that’s okay. Because it’s still a good fucking game even though I play it essentially as a single player rpg.
And with the (Soon™) advent of Classic WoW servers I know a TON of people I used to play with will be coming back to the game....at least tentatively. And idealist me wants to think that it will be the catalyst to legitimately bring back the glory days of WoW with the community of friends I had...but realist me knows that for the most part it won’t last long. It will be a short trip back to Nostalgia-land and then people’s lives will start getting in the way and *poof* it’ll be gone.
And that’s okay too.

Tama is boss
THE TRAINS HAVE CARTOON TAMAS ON THEM
Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away… An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the cat’s funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]
For those who haven’t read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. She’s now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.
Beautiful.
Now I’m crying thanks
and a new cat was hired right?
yep! her name is Nitama (essentially ”second tama” or “tama II”) and she served under Tama as an apprentice before being appointed her deputy
she works very hard
Everytime this crosses my dash, I reblog. It is the law.
For my friend who recently started watching Critical Role and wanted a character/player guide!
The first episode is available here, but for anyone who finds the beginning a little slow you can skip right here to an exciting bit in that episode in order to give yourself a proper taste.
If you don’t watch this, you should. Even if you’ve never played D&D before. It’s just fantastic collaborative storytelling and improv framed via a tabletop RPG. This has easily climbed into my top 5 favorite shows of all time (surpassing damn near everything that’s ever been produced on TV).
Also, for the record, while there are a not-inconsiderable amount of D&D streams/shows out there on the internet, this game has been going on for over 3 years (2 years pre-stream and just over a year online), so it shows low, mid, and high level D&D play where many other online D&D streams tend to die off and show only the beginning few levels.
As of this moment there are 304 hours of show to watch, which I’ll concede seems like a terribly daunting task to catch up on, but you will not regret it. They stream 3-4 hours weekly (only taking the occasional break for holidays and when the majority of the cast can’t make it [which for the record almost NEVER happens]) on Thursday (7pm PST/10pm EST) on the Geek & Sundry twitch. Forewarning though, I would NOT advise jumping in this week as your first introduction, as this week’s episode is going to start in the middle of the culmination of a MAJOR story arc and you will not understand what’s going on haha.

New Pokemon Go Headcanon
Every pokemon that runs away from you was actually a Ditto that didn’t want you to find out its secret.
This Pokemon Go thing is pretty amazing.
I’ve walked almost 10km since Thursday. Which I know is definitely not a *huge* amount, but honestly, it’s probably more than I’ve walked in the past year on account of my being lazy and shit.
And after dropping my girlfriend off at her place and heading home, I swung by my town’s Green and there were no lie somewhere between 35-40 people all playing. At 12:30am. On a Tuesday morning.
All to be a pokemon master.
