❝ what? ❞ the other beams, ‘you drive, i’ll sit in the back with ruru. you can be our uber driver!’ laughter following. rai was not amused, but he nods in agreement anyway. he was staying over at insoo’s, he was in no position to bargain. beggars can’t be choosers, as a sigh leaves him. as they made their way down to the parked vehicle, one that rai was not particularly familiar with, a few models too old and… regular. despite this, he moves to make his way into the passenger seat as the other ushers the poor girl into the back seat along with him. rai fastens his seatbelt, and adjusts the mirrors and seating, ❝ where to? ❞
Ahreum was just staring. She shouldn’t be staring but she’d be stupid if she ignored him too. Snapping out of it, Insoo’s voice was suddenly irritating. She wanted to listen to Raizel speak. His voice was soothing. Soothing? Heol. What got into her? “That’s cool.” Ahreum replied, almost too quietly, as if she doesn’t expect Insoo to shut his mouth anytime soon. “I guess I’ll have to ask Raizel oppa to help me out on my math homework next time then.” She says out loud, almost as if she’s telling Insoo she won’t come asking him for help next time. Not that Ahreum was a bad student, no, she’s far from bad but if it means getting Raizel to help her study, then maybe she can pretend to fail a few quizzes.
“Oppa, you sound too excited today. Did you drink red bull?” The female quickly asks, grimacing at Insoo. But his invitation was good. She was just about to ask. “I was thinking of taking a cab later, but I guess we can eat and hang out some more before I go.” This was supposed to be a short visit but it’s gotten longer because of Raizel. She would’ve just agreed to some snacks with Insoo but to have an actual meal with Raizel, it was so much better. Seeing Insoo toss the keys to Raizel, Ahreum knew that Insoo would take the passenger’s seat, so she decides to accidentally leave her ‘purse’ on the couch.
She joins the guys after putting on her shoes, pulling out her iPhone to post an update that she’ll be going out to dinner. Ahreum was used to seeing normal cars, even her family has one of those sleek back and normal looking car, if you don’t look at the label. Just as she 'settles’ in the back seat, she turns to Insoo. “Oppa, I think I left my purse at your place. My wallet is there.” Turning to Raizel, she gives off an apologetic smile. “Raizel oppa, would you mind giving us a minute?” But of course it was all planned, Insoo would go back to grab it for her. “I’ll go back to get it.” But Insoo stops her and immediately heads out of the car. Ahreum looks back, watching Insoo jog back to his apartment and when he was gone out of her sight, she too gets out of the car and climbs on the passenger seat. She buckles up right away so Insoo won’t be able to say a thing.
“Hi.” She greets Raizel again. “I’m taking driving lessons these days so I was hoping you wouldn’t mind if I watched you drive up close? For studying purposes, of course.” And for her pleasure, too. He was visually pleasing that she can’t take her eyes off of him. “Sorry about Insoo oppa, I know you guys are friends but, I didn’t like how he kept cutting you off. I guess he’s just excited to brag about you.” Frankly, Ahreum is aware that Insoo has a lot of friends but not a lot of close friends like her sister and Raizel. She’d include herself too if she was a bit older but she felt like a kid trying to fit in the young adults’ circle.
By the time that Insoo came back with her purse, she was already seated nicely next to Raizel. “I was asking Zel oppa about driving. I’ll get my license soon!” She exclaims. “Can we eat some Korean beef? I’ll chip in, I swear. I’m not gonna mooch off, you guys.”
