Harry Potter roleplay. Set in Hogwarts, in an Alternate Universe in 1995. In a world where Voldemort never rose to power, where Harry Potter was nothing more than an average student, where the Chamber of Secrets was never re-opened and Cedric Diggory won the Triwizard Tournament, Hogwarts students are still not safe. Happy roleplaying, students! Admin Luna and I are glad to have the roleplay finally open. Knowing most of you are only getting started on your roleplay experience, we are going to put some tips to make the roleplay experience better for everyone! First, some rules mentioned before, but that it’s good to repeat:

It’s mandatory you use a gif of your face claim on each thread you post or answer to let other roleplayers see how your character is feeling.

Please just use one gif of your character and not any other gif on the thread. That means that, if for example, you are talking about cars, don’t put a gif of the car in the thread. Instead, if you want to show another roleplayer a gif or image, link it to the thread. This will keep the threads nice and tidy.

Please be sure to cut your post so they aren’t longer than two replies!

And now, a few tips that are not mandatory, but recommended:

Try using only small and medium gifs, to keep the dash clean. If you don’t know how to make gifs, try looking for a gif hunt of your Face Claim.

For the thread to look more aesthetic, shrink the size of your writting. How? Select the text, and then press ctrl + shift + -. The text will look like this.

Ben is kind of the popular guy, probably because he’s good at Quidditch and he’s the captain of his team. He can be an ass when people hurt his friend, but he can also be very caring and kind with the people he like. He always had problems to control himself, when he’s mad, he can be very violent. He love school, but he hate the teachers, he’s always very arrogant and sarcastic with them.

House

His house is Gryffindor because of his bravery and loyalty, he always act before thinking, that’s why he’s always in trouble. The sorting hat considered to put him in Ravenclaw, he never listen in class, but he always have really good grades and sometimes we can find him in the library.

History

Ben is a werewolf, maybe that’s the reason why he have such good reflex during Quidditch match. When he was five, he killed both of his parents during his first transformation. His rich and strict uncle immediately took him and locked him in the library of his huge manor. During full moons, his uncle locked him in a vault in the forest behind the mansion. All day long, Ben was reading books about science, math ans philosophy. He learned to speak french, Latin and ancient Greek. 

When he received his letter, his uncle was really mad at Albus Dumbledore. He travelled to Hogwarts and Dumbledore explained to him that he once had another werewolf who came to Hogwarts, a long time ago, and that Ben would be fine if he go to the whomping willow every full moons. Relationships

Ben don’t remember the relationship he had with his parents. The only family he have is his uncle, he don’t really know him. Because he was always locked in the library or in a vault, the only person he talked to was the maids, and he really enjoyed it when they were talking to him.

He’s got an owl named Darwin, because of the scientific.

His favorite subject is astronomy.

Announcement #6:

We are happy to say, that finally, Here Today Gone Tomorrow roleplay is officially open!

What do you have to do? You roleplayers must be asking yourselves. Really simple. To get things going, post in your roleplay blog a starter.

Now, I know that for some of you this is your first time as a roleplayer, so I’m going to clarify what a starter is. If you don’t know what a starter is or how to write it, go here, that perfectly explains what is a starter, what to do and what not to do.

For all of you who know what a starter is and how to write it, I would still advice you read info in the link, as it explains the difference between a passive and an active starter. Basically, the difference is that passive starters are those which require more thought on the receiving party’s end than the giving party’s. Examples of this include:

Simple greetings

Having your character be meandering about, expecting the other character to approach them. No, you’re starting it; you’re supposed to lead.

Approaching and not saying anything.

What should you do instead? An active starter. Something interesting to lure other roleplayers into answering. If you are still unsure of how to do so, check Luna’s or my character’s blogs to see our starters.

It’s important you post at least one starter before replying to someone else’s.

Personality

Taytum is very shy when you fist meet her, but once she’s comfortable around someone she is actually very loud and funny. Most people don’t see this side of her though, because it takes her very long to feel comfortable around people. From when she was 7 years old to 9 years old she was in and out of foster homes, she still bears the physical and mental scars and is very untrusting when first getting to know someone because of this. 

House

Taytum was placed in Gryffindor, much to her surprise. She was expecting Slytherin as her biological mother was in Slytherin, or maybe Ravenclaw because of her love to read. As soon as the hat touched her head it yelled out Gryffindor. She doesn’t believe she belongs in Gryffindor but is happy with her placement anyway, as she’s found the closest friends she’s ever had in Gryffindor.

History Taytum never met her father, though her mother had told her he was a muggle. She lived with her mom until she was 7 when her mom fell gravely ill and passed away. Taytum was put into the Foster system, getting moved to a new house once the Foster parents realized how “odd” she was. After getting removed from 3 homes she decided to contain her accidental magic as well as she could and when she got placed with the Bakers they decided to adopt her. In all of the schools Taytum had been in she’d been bullied profusely, slightly adding to her trust issues but also making her promise to never judge anyone because of their history, skin color, or sexuality.

When Taytum received her Hogwarts letter her parents were shocked, although she wasn’t. She still remembered parts of the stories her mother had told about Hogwarts, and had been holding onto the hope of going through all of her years in foster care. After a long explanation and a bit of begging her parents reluctantly told her she could go. 

Relationships

Mary-Anne Baker- Foster Mom: Taytum and her mother have been close ever since the day she was placed into the Baker’s home. Taytum loves and trusts her whole-heartedly, which is rare for Taytum. 

Frank Baker- Foster Dad: Although not as close to Taytum as Mary-Anne, Frank and Taytum are very close. He still sees her as his little girl and can get very over protective at times. 

Douglas Baker- Foster Brother: Douglas, who is 17 loves Taytum more than anyone. Ever since she came to live with them Douglas has seen Taytum as his Sister, and would do anything to protect her. He cried when she left for Hogwarts her first year, although he’d never admit it. She misses him the most while she’s at school, but they make up for it on breaks by staying up all night talking. 

In her 5 years at Hogwarts Taytum has really come out of herself, becoming friends with nearly all of Gryffindor house. Everyone trusts her with their secrets.

Miscellaneous

Taytum’s favorite subject is Charms. When she needs to clear her head she’ll either go for a fly or go to the library. Taytum loves quidditch whether she’s watching or playing it, her favorite team is the Appleby Arrows.

Hello, everyone !! We have some amazing news. Firstly, that we finally have a follow list [ cheers ]. Yes, finally. It took forever, but you can finally find it here or in our links box in our sidebar. Personally, I think it looks pretty cool [ admin luna doesn’t know what modesty is ]. Please, remember to follow everyone in that list !!

Secondly, we’ve posted some pre-made original characters biographies, in case anyone doesn’t want to write a brand new biography !! This is a new feature we are adding to our roleplay. People who want to apply for original htgt characters will have to fill a different application, which will write as soon as we can. We’ll continue to add original htgt characters, so stay tuned !! [ is that something people still say? idek ]

And lastly, we’ve set an opening date. Hell yeah, you read that right. We’re finally starting the roleplay !! I hope you are squealing from excitement because I am [ not really, it’s an expression. it’s late now and i don’t want to wake my cats ].

Personality

Jaehyun would describe himself as clever and assertive. He is the kind of person who never gives up; extremely stubborn. His diligence is something to be admired, never one to cower from a task, no matter how difficult it may be. Silently helpful, not many people notice how dedicated he can be. Most students perceive him as abrasive, too intense, and rather bossy. However, this is simply because he has trouble communicating; choosing to ignore others when they seem to not understand him, instead of trying once again to get his point across.

Even so, he can be rather arrogant. Jaehyun often believes he’s the only one capable of doing certain tasks. He gets easily annoyed when others make mistakes, and has no qualms letting them know. His crude words have gained him contempt from more than one student.

Having said all that, he can be rather gentle when he is behind closed doors. He really respects his mother, and loves her with all of his heart. Even if he tries to hide it, he has a soft spot for children and small animals.

House

Jaehyun was nearly a hatstall; the Sorting Hat took exactly four minutes and forty two seconds to decide that he belonged in Hufflepuff. It considered all four houses before making its decision. Jaehyun, even at the young age of 11, was cunning enough to have merited a seat in Slytherin, but he didn’t have the necessary ambition to be a part of it. While he was brave and sometimes even reckless, he lacked the honor that characterizes Gryffindor House. And, undoubtedly, the young Kim was brilliant, but didn’t necessary seek knowledge. However, he was loyal to a fault and a true hard worker. Jaehyun was rather disappointed when the Hat declared he was to be a Hufflepuff; he had been hoping to be a Slytherin, like his mother before him.

History

When Jaehyun’s mother, Kim Ji-Eun, met her future husband she thought he was a homeless man. To be fair, Kim Seo Joon did look rather disheveled. He had just been kicked out from his apartment by his spiteful ex-girlfriend. He felt betrayed; even though he had been the one to break up with her. There really was no need to kick him out with only the clothes he had on, he thought. After hours of wandering, he had decided to sit down next to a quaint tea shop in Diagon Alley and that’s where Ji-Eun found him.

Nearly half a year later, they were married. They had Jaehyun, and Ji-Eun didn’t think she could be happier. However, their happiness didn’t last. Five years after Jaehyun had been born, both of his parents decided to get divorced. Their fights were almost daily, and they knew it wasn’t healthy for their son. Then, Seo Joon moved out of their shared home.

Jaehyun missed his father dearly at first, but while growing up he wasn’t too affected by their divorce as he continued to see him very often. When the young boy finally turned eleven, he wouldn’t stop asking his parents for stories of Hogwarts. His mother had been a proud Slytherin, while his father had been a quiet Ravenclaw. Ji-Eun’s tales of the underwater common room never failed to bring stars to Jaehyun’s eyes. The whole place sounded like a dream. When the day came for him to leave, their parents cried and the young boy vowed to make them proud.

As a Hogwarts Student, Jaehyun excelled in all of his subjects but barely had any friends. This soured his experiences somewhat, as he had no one to share them with. His successes were often bittersweet and, for many years, what brought joy to his everyday life were the letters his parents sent him weekly.

Relationships: Jaehyun has a beautiful relationship with both of his parents; if overly dependent at times. He is especially fond of his mother, and respects his father a lot.

As said before, he doesn’t have many friends due to his brusque attitude. Unintentionally, he is sometimes rude to strangers without reason. He has never been involved in a romantic relationship; and neither does he want to.

Personality

Alexander is a rather introvert person. Being an only child and with a strict father, he grew up to be a lonely child, with little to no friends. People who see him might believe he’s arrogant because of his attitude and his sometimes crude replies, when the reason he’s like this is because he just never learnt how to interact with other children his age. He prefers staying silent and reading a book, instead of doing more social activities. This doesn’t help much his friends list, which is only made by a few other Ravenclaw students, and that are more acquaintances than friends.   

House

Alexander wasn’t surprised when the Hat announced he was a Ravenclaw. Despite it was his father who made him study almost 24/7, and he knew more being 12 years old than most people at their adulthoods (hard facts, more than general knowledge), Alexander didn’t complain, and it wasn’t only because he was afraid of his father. Books and documentaries were his escape from real, awful, reality.

History

Alexander Colton didn’t enjoy a very happy childhood. With his witch mother being gone/abandoning him when he was barely one year old, Alexander was left with a bitter, work-obsessed muggle father. Oliver Colton pushed Alexander to be an overachiever and a reluctant perfectionist.

Oliver wasn’t aware that the mother of his kid was a witch, so every time an outburst of magic caused things to break or fall, he usually blamed it on Alexander’s clumsiness and ineptitude. This was also the reason why Alexander got a good hit/received a rather mean punch on the head when he claimed an owl had given him a letter to join a magical school. It took him several attempts to convince his father of the truth. And after managing to make him believe his words, Alexander, who had always been a quiet boy, fought like he had never before to be able to go to Hogwarts. Even if that meant going to a fancy University later on his life to study something he didn’t like.

Alexander had a hard time fitting in Hogwarts. Because, even if he felt as amazed as muggleborn students, instead of sharing his amazement, he studied everything with caution, almost as if he was afraid he’d wake up from a dream too good to keep dreaming.

Relationships

Besides a great great aunt Alexander has never seen, but that always sends him birthdays cards and homemade Christmas presents, he’s only family member is his father. His relationship with him would be tense, if Alexander didn’t do what his father orders him to. The truth is, he doesn’t like his father, and he’s glad he got the chance to be the whole year without having to see him. He hates Christmas, because he has to go back to his house, have an awkward dinner with his father in silence, and accept his harsh look; knowing he was disappointing him with the studies he was taking.

Alexander doesn’t have close friends, just a couple of classmates who agreed to do homework or a project with him when the rest of their friends were already teamed up. He’s never had a romantic relationship, but that doesn’t mean he hasn't had crushes during his time at Hogwarts.

Personality

Jayden is shy and doesn’t talk too much when getting to know someone for the first time. Being raised by open-minded parents, he never denied his love for plants, books and boys. Since the day some kids in primary school made fun of him for bringing his favourite houseplant to class, he keeps his excitement for some things more in private though. He’s often seen as too arrogant for a Hufflepuff because he’d always rather read a book instead of talking to other people, but in reality he just fears people laughing at his interests.

He loves spending time outside or in front of a window high up in some tower if the weather is too bad.

House

He was sorted into Hufflepuff for being a kind person who rarely sees the negative in things, so the decision was clear from the first moment on. Since all the members in his family (the ones that went to Hogwarts) were sorted into Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw it just seems natural to him to follow that line. As his family told him from early on how great Hufflepuff as a house is and that the others aren’t better or worse, he’s happy with how the sorting had turned out (he also thinks yellow is a rather pretty colour!).

History

Almost everyone in his family has a magical background, concentrating on the healing with herbs, roots and flowers. His childhood was calm and happy, which causes him to be easily overwhelmed by problems. His parents taught him to always see the good in everything and everyone. With his aunt he quickly discovered how to openly live with his sexuality.

He went to a childcare for muggles from the age 3 to 5 which was the main experience he made with them. He quite enjoyed their unusual habits. In Hogwarts he feels happy since the first day on. He made two friends and hopes to increase the number just a little bit. Experiencing more adventures also is a point on his to-do list.

Relationships

Jayden was raised by two parents who are together until this day. They lived a perfect relationship in front of him throughout his entire childhood and he secretly longs for harmonic relationships because of that (with friends as well as with lovers). His father plays an important role when it comes to emotional support while his mother was there for everything related to adventures. He’s close with his aunt and since she’s bisexual he already had someone to talk to about this topic from early on in his life.

He talks about everything with friends as soon as he truly trusts them. He’s a good listener, always silently searching the best solution for people’s problems. Jayden is against hating people and having enemies. He tries to get along with everyone. 

He never was in a romantic relationship, yet secretly crushes a bit on every cute boy that happens to carry a book around. He didn’t find the spiritual partner he’d need for a honest relationship yet.

Personality

She seems unapproachable and sarcastic at first, but if she warms to you, she can be quite funny and charismatic. Eve is guarded and trusts few people wholly, so it can be difficult to know when you’ve earned her full confidence. She is fiercely intelligent but also has little respect for authority, so although she enjoys studying at Hogwarts, she won’t be labelled a model pupil any time soon. Her temper flares up easily but her protective instinct is fierce and although she’d hardly admit it, her bravery is one of her defining traits. Eve is a people watcher and enjoys writing and reading in her spare time, as well as wandering Hogwarts’ expansive grounds.

House 

Gryffindor. Eve always thought she was more of a Slytherin, however the Sorting Hat overruled her.

History

Eve was born in Glasgow and her upbringing was unorthodox to say the least. Her mum, Debby became a single parent after Eve’s father left not long after her birth, and for much of her childhood, Eve’s mother had to work several jobs to keep the family afloat. This left Eve to be independent, thrust into many clubs and nurseries while her mother worked as a nurse at the local hospital. Despite their frequent separation, the two developed an incredibly close bond. Eve learned to cook, clean and take care of herself at a very young age and much to the disapproval of her mother, she also learned to smoke.

It is therefore quite fitting that Eve discovered her magical abilities during an argument with her mother, bursting several lightbulbs and toppling a bookcase led to Eve’s discovery that not only was her mother a witch, but she was also. Eve has a close group of childhood friends in her neighbourhood and struggled with leaving them behind, although they were probably a bad influence. She writes to them occasionally, as they are under the impression that she’s been sent to a boarding school for unruly children.  Eve had a happy childhood and enjoyed life with her mother in their little flat very much, but until coming to Hogwarts, she always felt her ambitions were a tad unfulfilled.

Eve’s first few years at Hogwarts were enjoyable but challenging to say the least, while she enjoyed the freedom granted by boarding, she struggled to adjust to the structured rules of the school and rebelled often. Despite disapproving of her antics, many of the professors have a soft spot for her. Eve’s outspoken nature didn’t earn her many friends either, and she has spent the past couple of years in comfortable solitude, bonding only with her housemates. In the summer before the beginning of sixth year, Eve found out that her mother had been battling illness for a year without informing her, and this has placed a rift between them. Despite outward appearances, Eve secretly longs for close friends to share her feelings (and dark humour) with.

Relationships

Eve adores her mother to pieces, and is often caring for her rather than being cared for. She sees her mother as her biggest role model and inspiration.

Eve doesn’t have many friends at Hogwarts as of yet, choosing to keep herself to herself. But she feels a little more allegiance to her Gryffindor housemates, probably due to her stubborn competitive streak.

Miscellaneous

Loves reading and trespassing, she also has a passion for women’s rights. Transfiguration and Defence Against the Dark Arts are her two favourite subjects. Loves a good pun and can occasionally be quite immature.

James is more so quiet, especially in situations/environments where he is surrounded by others he does not know but is watchful; observing people's actions and using that to determine their personalities off of it. James isn't a introvert, though, he can be outgoing if he wanted to befriend or speak to someone unless he chooses not to. 

House

Ravenclaw. James was sorted into this house as he ponders of all possible outcomes in situations and values wisdom in any and everything whether it's chess, or how to approach how to do an essay. 

History

James was born in America to two no-majs who descended from squibs. Although it was somewhat of a shock when Mary's and Jack's son was conjuring objects from thin air and when upset, nearby glass would shatter and summer days turned gloomy and rainy.  

As a child James found out about his squib ancestors and thus began educating himself about his wizardry heritage, gaining hope he would be a wizard and not a squib. Except for one of his relatives, Remus Lupin, who was the only wizard the Lupin family in decades, resulting in him being envied by the Lupins as he was able to perform magic, unlike themselves until James showed not to be a squib. At ten years old, James' parents moved to England abruptly, leaving James feeling glum of never getting to experience Ilvermorny himself, constantly wondering where he would be sorted. 

The following year on James's eleventh birthday, he received a letter to be accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Shocked, James's parents encouraged he should go despite him still missing his home country and what he could have had. 

Entering Hogwarts, James felt out of place due to still having his American accent although he was  adapted to the English lifestyle: eating their foods, in taking their sweets, etc. As years went by, James felt more comfortable and accepting of living in England although plans to return to America after leaving Hogwarts.

Maisie Anne Lupin is James's younger and only sister whom he has a close relationship with

Miscellaneous

James's favorite hobby is playing quidditch as it helps him release any tensions from the day.  He values Astronomy as in childhood he read the Greek Mythology surrounding Cassiopeia and Andromeda. James finds star-gazing and finding constellations a small personal hobby, a method he uses to calm himself at night when he misses America.

Announcement #4:

Being two Applications away, we are glad to say we are really close to opening the roleplay! That’s why Admin Luna and I decided to polish a few things, to improve the roleplay.

As we were starting to have too many links in the navigation button, we moved them to the ‘portkey’, which you can find on the bar at the left of the blog, underneath the clubs’ list.

 Speaking of clubs, the Clubs’ page is already available! There you’ll be able to find the members of each club, as well as the quidditch teams. If you desire to be your quidditch team’s captain, fill in the application found here and send it to us.

Another position you can apply for are the prefects, Head Girls and Head Boys. You can find the page here and the application to be one here. You’ll find it’s pretty similar to the one for being a quidditch captain.

And, to close today’s announcement, It’s important you know that, as we say in the disclaimer showed in the Application Form, for now on, if you want to apply for a character aqnd want to be related to any canon character (adults or non-roleplayed, as Serious, Tonks, etc.) you must let us know beforehand. 

With that, we end our fourth announcement! I know it’s a bit long, but I trust you guys will read it cause it say’s a lot of important things.
