re: your last post, when it comes to the diff drivers I feel perfectly comfortable writing black/non white readers for Lewis and maybe even Yuki, but the minute I start writing for the white drivers I get nervous bc I feel like their fan bases are more immediately hostile towards us based on what I've seen 😬 like I'll still write what I want but it's like walking into a party at a PWI lmao

Hi. 😶 Just wanted to say that I love your work on drivers with black!reader(s). I've thought about writing for a few of my favorites but I can't bring myself to do so. I feel like I'm not allowed to.

I'm mixed with half black. I've had ideas of writing OCs that are like me. But that little voice in the back of my head tells me not to because no one would read it. So I don't.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

all of the writers in the f1 x bipoc (black/indigenous/people of color) community are incredibly welcoming and we love having new writers join us in adding more diversity to f1 rpf.

i'm not gonna lie to you, we definitely get less attention/interaction with writing non-white ocs and readers (especially if you're writing oc's instead of reader-inserts, and also traditional fanfics instead of social media au's) — but i think that's because people who aren't the race of whatever character you're writing feel like they're not allowed to read it? or they find it hard to imagine themselves in that character's place? and that makes me giggle, because we grew up reading ACTUAL BOOKS and fanfiction where the default reader was white and was described as such. and even though we couldn't relate, we still read it because the story was good and it was all we fucking had lol. (seriously, you don't have to be a member of the poc community to read poc fics! i actually think it's kind of weird if you actively avoid them but that's an entirely different discussion !!!)

unfortunately, there will be people who harass you for doing it. i started writing f1 fics almost two years ago, and i think almost every one of my moots who write poc fics have received hateful messages and even threats !!! for making fanfiction diverse. i'm not saying this to scare you away, i'm saying this so you're aware. racism and prejudice still exists on this app and irl, for a reason unbeknownst to me. BUT FUCK EM!!!! if they can't handle somebody in a FANFIC having a skin color that isn't white, or eyes that aren't blue, or a hair texture that isn't straight and tied up in a messy fucking bun, or a CULTURE THAT ISN'T THEIRS—that doesn't sound like our fucking problem :)

people WILL read what you write. the number might be small, but people will read it. there are plenty of poc readers on this app who want more content. plenty of them are like you, who want to do more than read and start writing as well. and lemme tell you sumn...22 notes/likes may seem like nothing right? but, imagine that's 22 people who came up to you in real life, and told you that they liked what you wrote. and 1 reblog ??? that's like somebody walking up to another person and telling them, "you should read this, i loved it!"

and sure, having validation from readers is what keeps us posting...but don't forget that fanfiction is inherently self-indulgent. you wrote that story for yourself, and then you shared it and allowed us the privilege of reading it.

i can't speak for all of us, but i know that i'm thrilled every time i see a new writer come across my dashboard. so write your ideas. don't let the fear of being unnoticed stop you from doing something you want to do. and trust me, there are readers begging for a story with a mixed!oc, like you want to write. make yourself—and them—happy.

ten !!! pages !!! in !!! and carlos and lando have only been mentioned, they have yet to appear LMAO (that was a laugh of disbelief). it's going to be a monster of a chapter i think, bc i've outlined everything that i want to happen and i'm not even through the first half of the first act. YES—you've read that correctly, i've had to break this shit up into acts like a shakespearean play. what the hell.

how many acts are there you ask? optimistically there's 4, if you go by the timeline of the fic which is the months of summer: may to august. however, if you follow the outline, there's 11 acts...stop throwing tomatoes at me, i'm already ashamed of myself pls.

and y'all already know that i'm the slowest writer on earth, but i promise i'm going as fast as i can to write top quality work for you guys :) i'm sure we'd all rather i take my time writing something close to perfection, rather than halfassing it and ruining the series right?

his hands on your neck ♡︎ lando wonders how many hours of his life he’s spent helping you with your necklaces. you won’t be seen without multiple around your neck, and he dutifully follows your directions to adjust the chains to the proper length for them to layer in the order you want. his fingers brush your neck while he does it, and the process is made longer as you flinch away from his hands every so often because you’re sure he’s trying to tickle you on purpose. not even an hour after he finished, his hard work is ruined and he has to spend several minutes untangling the necklaces to make them sit perfectly again. becuase, what kind of boyfriend is he if he lets you walk around with your jewelry in complete disarray? but when he’s gotten the necklaces to cooperate once more, he gets to rest a hand on your neck (never squeezing, the weight of it is enough), and hold you exactly where he likes as he receives his payment in kisses. 

his hands on your face ♡︎ lando doesn’t think you're aware of how he maps your face with his fingers before you wake up. he brushes your brows into order with a gentle thumb, traces your cheekbones with reverence, follows the bridge of your nose with a finger, smiles at the softness and heat of your cheeks under his palm, and pets over your cupid’s bow and plush lips with the lightest pressure. when you wake, the first thing you do is sleepily grin at him, and his fingers move to admire the dip of your dimples. your smile makes lando weak in the knees, and he swears he’d do anything to keep it on your face.

his hands on your waist, hips, & ass ♡︎ lando’s been in trouble with you (and the press team) for this bad habit of his multiple times, and he has really tried to fix it. he starts the day with his hand resting on the dip of your waist, thumb mindlessly rubbing over the fabric there before he has to head to the press pen. when he returns, he grabs you by the hips to pull you to stand in front of him, and doesn’t move his hands back to your waist until you remind him that you’re in public. apparently, it’s not socially acceptable to appreciate the spread of your girlfriend’s hips in the middle of mclaren hospitality; hooking a finger into your belt loop is better received. the real problem is when he forgets himself. it’s cute and dismissible when he slides a hand into your back pocket. it’s less cute when he finds you walking to steal lunch from ferrari after a practice session, and smacks you on the ass with enough force to make you jump—in the direct view of the cameras following him around. it’s like his hand has a mind of its own, because he promises he didn’t actually mean do that (he was only thinking about it). the cameras also record how the color drains from lando’s face and the absolute fear in his expression as you lay into him for smacking your ass in the middle of the paddock (for the nth time). 

his hand on your thighs & ankles ♡︎ lando hates being cold, and your thighs are the perfect handwarmers. if you’re sitting next to him, it’s a given that his hand is going to it's place on your thigh. when he wants your attention, all he has to do is squeeze the supple skin to get you to look at him. he loves it when you sit on his left, so he can eat or sign posters with his dominant hand without a struggle, while the his other hand is happily snug between your crossed legs. however, when the two of you are home together, you spread out on opposite ends of the couch, and you always kick your feet up onto his lap. lando’s hand wraps around your ankle and draws circles over the bones, and he doesn’t even consider tickling your feet—most of the time.

his hands in your hair ♡︎ lando’s earned every opportunity to touch your hair. it started with you asking him if your middle part was straight. he told you it was off-center, and you handed him the comb and told him to make it perfect—which he did. you recruited him to help with your wash days, and simultaneously helped him develop his hair care routine. you get huffy when he does your edges better than you, you taught him how to add beads to your styles, and how to braid (it counts, even if you only let him do the ones on the back of your head). lando doesn’t think that you’ll ever let him hold a hot comb or flat iron, but he’s satisfied with being trusted to finish blow-drying your hair when your arms get tired. you fall asleep as he’s oiling your scalp or treating you to a head massage, and he thinks about the future. after his retirement, when the two of you have a gaggle of curly-headed children running around the house, and the stress of making multiple tiny, tender heads of unruly hair presentable, isn’t all on you. because of the trust you put in him now, he's going to be able to do your children’s hair too.

our store front will be CLOSED from thursday-sunday for the grand prix! all events and orders previously booked and scheduled on these days will still be serviced but our physical store will not be open.

bouquetiere the week of the monaco grand prix is now a holiday at bouquetiere!

our store front will be CLOSED from thursday-sunday for the grand prix! all events and orders previously booked and scheduled on these days will still be serviced but our physical store will not be open.

bouquetiere starting next month, the shop hours will be changing!

the shop will be closed on sundays AND mondays! don't worry, this change won't affect events and deliveries on these days, it is only the physical store front that will be closed to customers! thank you for helping bouquetiere grow to a size where our team can rest for two days out of the week :)
