the relationship between horror and misogyny is intriguing and confusing to me bc the ultimate goal with some of these movies is to treat misogyny as horrifying while simultaneously. being the genre that brutalizes women and treats their reactions to the horrible things done to them as a source of horror

see the issue with posts like these is that, as much as they are true and accurate, they're usually made whenever someone big is getting "canceled" for something they said years ago (so it shouldn't be relevant or acknowledged anymore, right?) when the reality is that the "dumb bullshit" they did was saying bigoted stuff (typically involving racism or anti blackness) as an adult

hi prev. this post is from 2019 and I do not like that the people working on tadc are propagating racism and actively doing nothing about it. that's not why I reblogged this.

I reblogged this because harassment as a tool is ineffective at reducing harm that someone has done nor does it help anyone who was hurt by them. if you want someone to do better‚ give them to tools to do so, otherwise‚ leave their life.

it actually kinda pisses me off to have the gall to say this when other Black users get harassed off the site because people do this shit to do them and call it "accountability". the problem is that this system does not protect the people it says it protects, it punishes them swifter and quietly. when it happens, nobody says anything, because they found a target who "deserved it".

but sure this is only about people with corporate backing who can escape what they've done and let themselves hurt others. fucking Sure.
