In almost six years of being an army, I've never felt the way that I do now. The current situation is so saddening and dissappointing and the fact that some of you can't comprehend this is annoying the hell out of me. What baffles me the most is the fact that this is coming from the men who spoke at the UN twice. When RM apologised for the lyrics in War of Hormone he proved that they are capable of taking criticism and reflecting on their wrong doings, he set the standard and now you expect us to act as if this isn't the same man? Bts are not gods and they can make mistakes and this is exactly why they should be held accountable for them.
Some of the fans are making this all about how this will give an opportunity to haters and is gonna be bad for bts' name, are we supposed to sweep a matter this serious under the rug just 'cause it will be bad for them? What about how it is going to affect the majority of their female fans? Their are many artists that openly support that piece of shit and I condemn each one of them so why should bts be any different?
I am aware of the fact that the kpop industry had always been insensitive about crimes against women committed by male celebrities and I never would have imagined that I would get that reminder from the two people I admire so much. There was a time when I used to play Under the Influence on repeat but the moment I learnt about his history I stopped. No one was watching me and no one would have known but I still stopped because I am a woman first and foremost and nothing is worth sacrificing my morals and principles, not even bts.
I have always been proud of bts and they have meant so much to me. I genuinely believe that Hobi and Joon are good people as they have proved themselves to be countless times in the past and they are DEFINITELY not in the same league as Chris Brown, not even close. But, seeing them not only enjoy his music but show open support to him was hard. Also, their PR sucks ass because there's no way they are not aware of what's going on.
I am not sure how to feel about them anymore. If they refuse to even acknowledge this(which is exactly what's gonna happen, I'm afraid) then this will just prove that men are completely okay with consuming entertainment and pursuing their interests even when it comes at the expense of women facing abuse. That would be so disheartening to see. God, this is the worst day ever.
