"This is my 9th convention that I have attended. I've been in key club since freshman year. My very first pin was a PNW Pin. I began my collection by attaching them onto my name tag. After a while, they started to hurt my neck as I carried them around, since they were very sharp! So then I brought this book where I could collect all sorts of pins" "So how many pins do you have? "Do you think key club is more than just a club?” “Yes” “So at what point did you realize Key Club was more than just a club?" "I realized that this organization was so much more than just a club when I first joined, but the realization didn’t completely hit me until I went to my first Divisional Meeting. There, I met Key Clubbers from all over Division 11 and had the opportunity to listen to the different ideas that club officers were implementing in their home clubs and the various activities that they held to promote club bonding. While there were (and still are) many service organizations in my school and community, Key Club is unique in that its members bond over a mutual love for improving the lives of individuals, whether locally, nationally, or internationally! Through volunteering at events and fundraising for causes, Key Clubbers become closer and more open to meeting new people who share these values. Through the many events, ranging from service projects to club bonding activities, I’ve realized that Key Club is so much more than just a club. Even the new members can easily assimilate to the club because as diverse as it is, Key Club is meant to be a club for anyone and everyone.
