SEKAIICHI HATSUKOI: TAKANO NO BAAI 2/ (PART 2 SUMMARY TRANSLATIONS)

Yokozawa is surprised to see Takano drenched in some kind of substance. Takano asks Yoko if he has anything he can wipe it off with though just starts drying himself off with Yokozawaâs shirt. Takano explains that he isnât quite sure what exactly happened just that he was doused by the woman he was currently dating.Â
Later, as theyâre having dinner, Yokozawa tells Takano that what happened was his fault, but Takano is quite nonchalant about and doesnât know how it could possibly be his fault. Yokozawa in disbelief explains that itâs kind of common sense for his girlfriend to want to be treated special, but Takano just says that heâs never heard of such a thing âThen why didnât she tell me this earlier?â. Apparently, his now ex had already put forth that she didnât mind having just a physical relationship, but then got mad when Takano only seemed to take interest in her body. There was really no reason for her to expect anything else beyond that (aka getting her hopes up). Yokozawa warns Takano that heâd better take care not to get stabbed. Apparently, Takano has done this to many people, but he doesnât even know how many at this point.Yoko tells Takano his bad character will make his partners resent him, but itâs not something he can hide from his best friend. It seems Takano contemplates this for a moment, like he might be thinking of a certain someoneâŚ
Sorata greets and paws at Takano as he enters the door. Adding to the mail that just keeps piling, Takano notices a perculia letter in the pile. Itâs an invitation to his Motherâs wedding, though Takano isnât interested and thinks she probably sent it to him out of obligation so he doesnât even need to reply if heâs not going.Â
In Takanoâs monologue, he explains that he rejected money from his parents and pays off his school fees and living expenses from his part time job.
He notices that theyâve run out of food and tells Sorata to wait a little longer (a very hungry cat) and heads out to the convenience store
On the way, Takano explains that he gave up hoping for anything and that he himself doesnât know what it feels like to hope anymore. The happiness that surrounds him makes him a little bitter as his eyes catch sight of a family with a kid âThis season is really annoying.â. Memories of the past continue to beat him over the head.
As the beeping sound of the level crossing gates fill the air, Takano remembers the time he went looking for Ritsu. Though in the end, the search was useless, but even despite that, Takano refused to give up and desperately kept searching for the only person heâd ever loved. During his search, he suddenly realised he didnât even know what he was hoping for. If Ritsu wanted to stay in touch there were so many ways he could go about it. The fact that he hadnât tried anything, meant that Takano was just being stupid and that he was the only one who had been truly happy. All his efforts seemed stupid after heâd come to that realisation. He thought the people around him were selfish and pushing their own delusions and ideals onto him. So, getting involved with people like that was just a waste of time, and getting his hopes up was a frustrating experience. Then why did he even think of going out with him in the first place? The words just came outâŚ
âDo you want to go out with me?â
People usually just end up looking at Takano with hopeful eyes⌠but not this time.
After Takano had asked Ritsu that, âWhy?â was the only word written all over his face. Takano thought that maybe he wasnât really thinking of what comes after the confession such as dating and hearing the reply. He just simply wanted to tell his senpai that he liked him. If that wasnât enough and it was all a lie, then Takano was in the wrong for getting his hopes up in the first place.Â
On his way home, the cherry blossoms keep reminding him of his past and all he just wants to do⌠is to forget.
