SEKAIICHI HATSUKOI ~ THE CASE OF ONODERA RITSU 29.5 ~ SUMMARY/TRANSLATION/SCANLATION
An: “Ricchan!”
A frazzled-looking An-chan is hobbling over to Ritsu, apologising for being late as she missed her train. Ritsu reassures her that it’s okay and An asks if they could stop by the convenience store.
Ritsu: “Sure. Is something wrong with your feet?”
An explains that her new shoes are a bad fit and worried, Ritsu asks if she’s alright. He noticed she’d been sort of limping her way over to him anyway, so he wondered if something was wrong. An says she’s alright, but also not really and that she’s embarrassed about the whole thing.
Ritsu: “Oh, wait here then. I’ll go buy some for you.”
An: “I’m so sorry. I’m the one who invited you on this shopping trip, after all. Thank you.”
Ritsu: “No worries.”
Ritsu’s positive and gentle attitude seems to make her extremely happy as she exclaims “I’m so glad Ricchan is back to being Ricchan~~!”. Ritsu asks An what she means by that.
Understanding what she meant, Ritsu apologizes for the worry that must have caused her, but An just says “No, it’s all good now, so don’t worry.”
After that, Ritsu complains about his current jet lag from the plane ride home and that he can’t seem to shake it off. An laughs and tells him that it will linger for a while.
His phone beeps and it’s a message from Nao, most likely asking him if he got home okay.
Ritsu’s thoughts: I’ll talk to him once I’m home.
Ritsu’s thoughts: He went to an Art School in America to learn photography.
Ritsu’s thoughts: I’m impressed that his drive has stayed so true.
With Ritsu having these newfound ambitions, he’s finally forgotten all the sad things as well as his ugly past. He’s okay now.
As the cherry blossoms bloom into view, An interrupts Ricchan from his thoughts exclaiming in awe at how pretty the blossoms look and that now is the absolute best time to enjoy them. Even though Ritsu says he’s forgotten everything, there are some triggers that he still needs to avoid. The cherry blossoms just remind him of his first love, so he distracts An by suddenly pointing to a limited-edition item that she was looking for, asking if that’s the right one.
It works.
An: “Oh! Yes, that’s it!”
In the background of the panel, we can see a dark-haired man walking with a woman on his left. On the last page (we get one of the most frustrating panels I’ve ever read in a manga. I’ll spare you the frustration if you’re not already feeling it, for now), we now see that the dark-haired man is a younger Takano, crossing paths with Ritsu. However, they don’t notice each other.
Ritsu’s thoughts: It will be a little while until we say “Nice to meet you.” for the first time.

Okay so, I’m still working on the summaries for the most recent chapter. Since the lovely Sarah had already scanned and cleaned these, all I had to do was typeset the selected panels and write the summary/translation along with them. It’s a new style I’m going to be doing to avoid such lengthy summaries like in the past, as well as making them more enjoyable for you guys.
This was something I wanted to post to keep people somewhat satisfied in the meantime, while I’m working on ONB31. It’s going to look pretty much like this, except they will be my scans and cleans. It most likely won’t be in parts either! Just one big post!
In future, I plan to get future chapter summaries and translations up much quicker. It’s just been a hard year ):

Yo! I’ve been thinking about doing this kind of new summary style for a while now.
Basically, instead of just the boring old long text summaries with no images, there will be mini scanlations of some of the panels in the new chapters along with summaries/some translated dialogue in between too. I feel this makes reading the summaries more digestible and exciting. This is an example of what the mini scanlations will look like.
Everything will be done by my own hand (scans, cleaning, typesetting, translation).
Please note, that I will NOT be scanlating the whole chapter. Only just bits and pieces from the chapters and putting them in my summaries. This completely falls under fair use too and I will be linking websites where you can buy the manga/magazine etc... if you can support the creators, please do! I understand if you’re not in a position to do that though ❤️
I’m going to be pretty busy until I finish up with my uni work, but I’ll try my best to work on these summaries in between.

I understand that by doing this my dms will be set on fire… but a few months ago I translated the entire recent chapter of SIH (Onodera no baai 31) on my server in a document. The reason I haven’t posted it here is kind of a mixture of reasons but it’s mainly because I’m worried about the spread and people possibly using my translations without my permission. If you’d like to see the translation, you can shoot me a message in dms asking for an invite to my discord server and I’ll send that.

When Ritsu arrives home Nao asks him how his feeling and if he can eat. Ritsu just says he’s fine as usual. Nao shows Ritsu what he’s been working on and Ritsu apologizes for disrupting his work and making him take care of him.
Nao: “What are you going on about?”
He says how he’s taken care of Ritsu so many times that this is a piece of cake. He goes on about how they always used to eat together late at night in their room. As he says he’s going to warm up their food right now, Ritsu finally brings it up. “I want you out of here by tomorrow morning.”.
The sudden subject change makes things a bit awkward and Nao is aware he’s overstayed his welcome by this point but he starts to make the excuse that Ritsu still isn’t better so there’s no way he could just leave him alone like this. He says he’ll get out of here once Ritsu’s better and be sure to pay the rent without worry. But Ritsu is standing his ground “That’s not what I meant.”. He reminds Nao that they’d agreed it was going to be until yesterday so he wants him to keep his promise and leave. He apologizes to Nao for saying all this after he looked after him in so many ways but that he needs to set things straight since he considers Nao an important friend.
Ritsu: “Um, you said that you liked me, but I can’t reciprocate your feelings.”
Nao: “So that’s why we can’t be under the same roof?”
Inconsiderate of Ritsu’s feelings, Nao relays to Ritsu how he takes things too seriously and that like he told him beforehand; he’s not in any rush for his response. He suggests maybe they go somewhere to hang out either tomorrow or the day after if he’s feeling better, but Ritsu’s not having it and calls Nao out on his lie that morning.
Ritsu: “I remembered about the time I collapsed. Takano-san was in my apartment, right?”
Nao can’t continue with that lie now and even admits it’s not good to tell lies you’re not used to telling. He finally tells Ritsu the truth; how he collapsed at the entrance as “Saga-san” was leaving for work and how he took care of Ritsu until Nao got back. “Why did I lie?” because Nao says he wants to keep Ritsu and “Saga-san” separated. Ritsu asks why he’d want to do that. Nao says he doesn’t trust Takano and reminds Ritsu that even he himself is hesitant about him too. He doesn’t think there’s anyway “Saga-san” could be Ritsu’s partner so there’s no need for him to get hurt so many times over him. He tells Ritsu that he knows he can’t forget his first love but that he can’t move forward if he never lets go. Nao says he never usually gets involved in other people’s personal business, but Ritsu’s an exception because he likes him. “I saw how much you suffered and I was closer to you than anybody else.” so then “Fall in love with me.”. He wants to hold Ritsu dearly and says he would never hurt him, but Ritsu only sees Nao as an important friend. When he relays this out-loud, it sets something off in Nao as he says “Then how about you give it a try?”.
He grabs Ritsu by the arm and pushes him to the floor and attempts to assault him with Ritsu repeatedly telling him to stop. At one point, Nao even nudges his private parts which gives Ritsu a huge shock. He stares at Ritsu, says his name and Ritsu tries to push his face away from him and tells him to stop. Nao grabs Ritsu’s arm and it’s when he leans in for a kiss that Ritsu punches him to get him to finally stop.
Immediately realising he’s just hurt his friend, Ritsu profusely apologizes and asks if he’s okay. Nao asks if Ritsu seriously just hit him (um… pretty natural response dude. You assaulted him). Ritsu tries to say he didn’t mean to do that, it was a reflex, and asks if he might have caught his tongue by accident. Head bowing down, holding his face, Nao stays quiet despite Ritsu’s pleas. When he finally speaks it's with defeat "Yeah, I knew this already”. He tells Ritsu that he’s going head out to cool off for a bit and when he comes back he’s leaving. After he leaves, Ritsu grips his wrist and says that the way Nao grabbed his arm was gentle. In his mind, Ritsu admits that if he could like Nao it might have been for the best as Nao had said. He’s always watching over him, encouraging him, at times scolding him, always staying by his side and following after him.
Ritsu gets a text from Takano saying good work and asking how he’s been feeling since before. When he sees the text, it’s like he’s reminded how much of a mess he’s in.
Ritsu: “I’m getting hurt over and over, but I can’t give up.”
He needs to eat a little, shower after he eats, and finish up his take-home work.
And then he’ll…
Then he’ll…
“............I want to see Takano-san”
Chapter end.
Okay yeah, I’m sorry the summaries took so long to come out. The previous computer I was using was a nightmare to work with with the mouse constantly not working so being unable to edit even when I had finished the summaries back in January. Summaries/translations will be coming out soon for ONB31 (the recent chapter) so keep a look out for that and they’ll come out a lot quicker than these too! I’m glad I have a better computer now 😭
After finishing work exhausted, Ritsu still feels incredibly sluggish despite the fact his fever should have gone down by now. He’d had more work piled up than he’d expected and ended up taking it home.
Tomorrow… or the day after… either way Ritsu knows he needs to straighten things with Takano and practice in the meantime so he can tell him properly.
“Are you in love with me?” Ritsu wonders why Takano does such puzzlings things like that out of the blue. Dwelling on the past, he thinks about how he selfishly fell in love at first but then selfishly gave up hope and tried to forget as best he could. He was suppose to forget but he couldn’t when he realised how Takano made him feel more and more (important to note, Ritsu used an endearing term when he referred to Takano. Generally “anata” (meaning "you") is used by people who are close. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Ritsu use this so it’s interesting).
A text comes through from Nao and reads “How are you feeling? I’m going to cook and wait up for you. Get home safely.”. Ritsu stares at the message knowing what he needs to do next.
We’re back to how Takano no baai 2 ended but from Ritsu’s POV.
He shouts at Takano that they’re at the company and that he won’t say anything further, he’s just going to do his work… from what we believed was an implied kiss was actually just Takano cupping Ritsu’s cheek and admiring him. “W-What is it?” and Takano just says “........Nothing.” (but we really know what he was thinking). Ritsu bats Takano’s hand away and tells him to stop doing these kinds of things whilst they’re at work. The rejection didn’t sit well with Takano as he just simply says “Oh really.” and turns around to walk away. This makes Ritsu panic as if he just lets this pass, nothing will change. He needs to talk to him properly. He asks if Takano has time someplace on the weekend because he wants to explain himself properly. He tells Takano he’s aware that up until now he’s always been so complicit and he feels bad, but if he were to try to explain everything it would take up to 3 days. In response, Takano says “Damn, that is long.” (what a throwback). So for now, Ritsu just wants to get to the gist of it but Isaka interrupts them. Isaka has Takano’s attention now and tells him he’s got an urgent matter.
Takano: “Are you saying this with the knowledge that the proof needs to be finalized today?”
Isaka: “Eh? For real? no way!” Isaka: “Go to Tokyo right now.”
Apparently, Isaka previously told Takano about an invitation as a special lecture for the manga course at a university.
Takano: "Ah, that really tedious thing.”
Kirishima was actually scheduled to go there but couldn’t because Hiyori suddenly got sick or something. So, he couldn’t just cancel it and Takano is the only one who can fill in so “You’re going right now.”. Takano repeats to Isaka that he just told him the proof needs to be finalized today but Isaka dismisses him by saying Hatori is here for times like this. As Isaka is walking away he tells Ritsu “Keep working hard Coattails!” and says he’s counting on Takano. Takano tries to call out to Isaka “Wai- Hey you!” basically he’s speaking very unprofessionally to Isaka and in the background, Ritsu just keeps shouting Takano’s name like “Takano-san, he’s the company president!”.
Takano’s fuming especially because it has to be right now of all times. “That’s so messed up. He has to be stupid.”. Ritsu asks if he’s really going and Takano says he has to since it’s the company president’s orders. Ritsu begins to says that if he “wants to decline” but Takano is too pissed off to listen “He has to know that the proof is almost finished. He is saying this knowing full well that the rest can be left to Tori.”.
Ritsu: “Then, it’s all okay…”
Takano: “There’s no way in hell it’s okay!”
He tells Ritsu to look at the emails after the discussion with Sales and to lend Tori a hand when he can. Takano then brings up what they were talking about before and Ritsu goes to tell him that’s okay, they just do it another day but Takano interrupts him. He’s not sure about today but he’ll definitely be back tomorrow and will let Ritsu know the exact time when he knows. His anger dies out as he faces Ritsu seriously;
Takano: “If you say that you have something you want to properly tell me about, I’ll listen. So, don’t run away anymore.”
Ritsu breaks out of his wet dream and wonders what he's doing in his apartment. He remembers how he wasn’t feeling well this morning, he lost his vision and then… “Huh? So that means that just now was… a dream?” The realization doesn’t really help his pride.
Nao enters the room and asks how he’s feeling. Ritsu says he thinks he’s better than how he was that morning and Nao says he’ll go get the thermometer. Ritsu says he can just do that himself. Nao tries to tell Ritsu to just got back to sleep but Ritsu needs to go to the toilet and as he gets up he loses his balance and Nao catches him. Ritsu apologies and Nao takes advantage of this to linger there for a moment. He feels Ritsu’s forehead “Let’s see, your temperature… well, I guess it’s somewhat gone down.”. He tells Ritsu to get hydrated and see if he can at least eat soup “Then, I’ll get it ready so come to the kitchen.”.
When they’re settled in the kitchen, after they’ve taken Ritsu’s temperature it seems it really has gone done to just a slight fever. Just to be safe though, Nao bulked up on some medicine to treat Ritsu and he also took care of the chores.
Ritsu: “Thank you. Anyway, I’m sorry about this. Did you even sleep properly, Nao? Please don’t tell me you were taking care of me this entire…”
Nao: “I’m fi~ne. Don’t underestimate the ability of a freelancer to stay up all night.”
Ritsu: “Ehhhh?”
Nao: “More precisely, I can’t leave you alone like this. That’s why I want to stay here a little longer.”
Ritsu is surprised by this new idea they’ve never discussed O . O Nao begins forcing decisions on Ritsu without hearing him out once again.
He makes the excuse that he’s scared of what could happen to Ritsu if he were to collapse again. What would he do if it was somewhere he doesn’t know or he’d died. Ritsu tries to remind Nao of the first promise they made about his stay but Nao’s not hearing it. “Yeah, yeah, so it’s decided that I’ll stay longer!!” He’s going to be here until Ritsu is better.
Ritsu reminisces about the events that happened that morning. He explains to Nao that when he woke up he was already gone. He can only remember that he got to the entrance because he was trying to find a way to get to work. In his thoughts, he remembers thinking that there were a lot of things he needed to talk about with Takano but his memory gets a bit hazy. Nao can see how confused Ritsu is and seizes the opportunity to lie about what happened. He tells Ritsu he saw him lying on his back by himself at the entrance. He says he got a fright seeing Ritsu on the floor like that after getting out of work early. Ritsu still wasn’t quite convinced as he thought Takano-san was looking after him. He apologizes for scaring him and Nao makes a joke that his life expectancy was shortened from that scare (I wish O .O).
Nao tells Ritsu to take some medicine and go back to sleep and place the cup on the table after he’s finished. Ritsu thanks Nao once again but tells him he can’t really do that since he needs to have a shower and get ready and Nao asks him what he’s getting ready for. Unsurprisingly, workaholic Ritsu says he needs to go to work. He explains that the proofs are being finalized today and he also has a lot of other work so he can’t have any more time off. Nao tells Ritsu he needs to stop doing that and have someone else do it. If his sickness gets worse, then what does he plan to do? Ritsu reassures Nao that he’s alright and is planning to get a check-up at the hospital before he goes to work and begrudgingly Nao agrees but insists he must come too. Ritsu says it’s fine, he’s not a child… He takes Ritsu’s hand and tells him that if something happens, he should be the first he tells. It doesn’t matter how unimportant the matter, he should tell him. He’ll be sure to come running to him anytime no matter where he is. He never wants to be terrified about something like this ever again.
Ritsu: “I-I’m sorry. I understand.”
As they’re about to leave for the hospital, Ritsu tells Nao to go ahead as he forgot his proof of insurance card. In his thoughts, Ritsu thinks Nao is too overprotective but that he really is a good guy. He’s sure Nao’s also busy with work and feels bad that he had to look after him in the midst of it.
He feels something in his shoe and empties it onto the floor. When he sees it’s Takano’s key, he remembers how he was going to see Takano and passed out. It was Takano that carried him into his apartment. He was right, Takano was taking care of him. If that’s the case; “Why would Nao lie to me about that?”.
“Why… did it have to be you....?” The chapter begins with Takano telling Ritsu if he can do “it” according to what he’s taught him. Ritsu goes down on Takano and the following dialogue proceeds.
Takano nudges Ritsu with his foot “You’re so incredibly hard right now.” causing Ritsu to get distracted and Takano teases him for this “What? Giving up already?” which makes Ritsu flustered (but challenge accepted I guess). He continues on but Takano still doesn’t let up and begins touching Ritsu with his foot. Ritsu must have learned a lot since Takano finally says “It feels amazing” which must have meant a lot to Ritsu “D-does it really!?”. This shows that Ritsu just wants to be praised by Takano and be able to pleasure him.
Takano: “It does. So let me get inside you already.”
But Ritsu is feeling a lot more confident in this scenario and willingly strips for Takano for the next scene. In the next scene (love-making) Ritsu brokenly murmurs Takano’s name (as we remember, Takano loves that) and in his thoughts talks about how hard and big Takano is and how good it feels. Then no sooner does he think that does Takano whisper into his ear “Does it feel that good?”. Takano kisses him before Ritsu can try to deny it and says aloud “I’m gonna come inside once”. Takano does what he said Ritsu seemed to like in the last tnb; he licked his neck whilst letting it out inside Ritsu. They both slump from the exhaustion, shaking from the previous ecstasy with Ritsu left flustered from what just happened.
Since I keep seeing misinformation spreading around on different corners of the fandom about Proposal Hen, I’ll try to compile some info in this post.
Proposal Hen on its own is an OVA that has a runtime of about 20-22 minutes.
Its status as an OVA is not changed by the fact that is it is having a theatrical run in Japan.
Across multiple websites selling the album with the main theme song by Shuhei Kita, Proposal Hen is listed as an OVA.
There were popularity polls run online for the TV Anime’s episodes to determine what episodes would be played alongside Proposal Hen in theaters. The top three episodes are what will be playing in the coming weeks of the theatrical run. From reports I’ve seen, the 3rd place episode was Season 2 Episode 9 and it is what is currently playing after Proposal Hen ends. The 2nd and 1st place episodes have yet to be revealed.
Since Proposal Hen is still in theaters and will be having a run of at least a month based on the benefits schedule, which runs up until March 19th, 2020 as of me making this post, you are not going to be finding it online.
While a DVD release has not been announced as of me making this post, based off of past DVD releases like the Yokozawa movie, it is most likely months away from now. You won’t be seeing it unless:
You go to a theater showing it in Japan (safe, legal, supports those who were involved, shows company that there is high interest in the series)
Or:
Someone pirates it (records it in-theater and shares it) - this can create a huge legal mess, especially if you start spreading it around online and they find who was the original person recording it.
If I were to ask you to have some sort of take-away from this post, it would be to just be patient and wait for the DVD release instead of sitting around waiting for someone to pirate it. While this may make the wait months longer, it’ll be high quality and you’ll probably be happy you waited in the end. The OVA isn’t going to just stop existing. If you’re getting impatient just go reread the Volume 13 Marriage Booklet.

SEKAIICHI HATSUKOI: TAKANO NO BAAI 2/(FINAL PART SUMMARY TRANSLATION)
Finally 😭 it's finished. I'm sorry it took 4 months to do this, I just had so much going on and coupled with a general lack of motivation too. This definitely won't happen for the next release and I'm aiming to post the translations and summaries within the first two weeks of the release. Sorry for any grammar mistakes, errors or typos you see in this post. I will fix them as soon as possible. Thank you and enjoy!
“T- Takano-san! G- Good morning.”
Ritsu calls out to Takano whilst his on his way to a meeting (or something to do with business). Takano asks how Ritsu’s condition is and if it was just the flu after all. Ritsu tells Takano that he paid a visit to the doctors that morning and acquired some medicine for his illness. Apparently, the doctor informed Ritsu that he has gastroenteritis from fatigue. He thanks Takano for taking care of his work and he’ll make up for what he's fallen behind on. Takano just tells Ritsu that it’s nothing to fret over but Ritsu is still relentless so Takano just says that he understands and to just focus on getting over his cold in the meantime. As Takano is about to walk away, Ritsu stops him. He apologises for holding Takano back but he still has more to say and Takano reassures him that it’s alright.
(Also important to note that Ritsu is using honorific speech. He already speaks formal to Takano since Takano is his boss and also older than him. His speaking very formally and politely to Takano obviously because he feels awkward around him and he thinks Takano is very unhappy with him right now)
A stammering and nervous Ritsu tries to explain that because of the fever he wasn’t able to think straight the previous day and wasn’t able to properly express himself. He elaborates that he’s talking about Nao but that the fault is solely on himself not Nao. He explains that he wasn’t able to explain himself properly to Takano and because of that he must be incredibly upset with him (so basically Ritsu is saying that in chapter 28 he didn’t explain himself well like about the demerit thing and because of that he thinks Takano is very upset with him). He apologises because he knows that talking about such private matters like this in a work setting isn’t very appropriate so instead Ritsu proposes they arrange a time to talk about this some other time. Though Takano’s not having that “Why not just say it now?”.
“Eh?!” Ritsu is obviously not quite ready to have this talk and immediately begins stammering. In Takano’s thoughts, he says he knows very well what Ritsu wants to say but that he just wishes he’d say it already. He also thinks he may just be getting his hopes up but there’s no telling if that’s really the case. He either knows or he just wants it to be what he thinks it is. It seems as if Ritsu is really struggling to say all of this right now “I’m sorry, as I thought, right now-” and then Takano interrupts him;
“Are you in love with me?”
The sudden leading question makes Ritsu blush like mad because he is in love with Takano, he really can’t deny it but he doesn’t want to admit it just yet either. The face he makes after that question reminds Takano of the face he made when he confessed to him in high school and asked him out.
Buuuuuuut Ritsu can only sit still for so long and begins yelling and lecturing Takano about what he just said (In other words, he goes full tsundere mode once again and refuses to say anything more). Takano doesn’t pay any mind to Ritsu’s rant though, he’s still fixed in a lovey-dovey-like trance admiring Ritsu’s flustered reaction because of his question. In his mind, Takano says the same thing he thought when Ritsu first confessed. “He’s… about to melt” (meaning his resolve is crumbling). As Takano cups Ritsu’s cheek to angle his head up, he thinks that he’s only ever wanted Ritsu to say those words (I love you) and here he is, getting his hopes all over again.
“Looks like I do want this guy, after all” (reference to last line Ritsu said in chapter 29 “I really do love him, after all” they’re written similarly deliberately) and an implied kiss.
