“There’s got to be a reason you’re giving me an attitude, babe,” Gray huffs, rubbing your back ever so lightly.
“Well there isn’t. Sorry to disappoint,” you respond coldly, continuing to wash the dishes in front of you.
“Is this about me not saying anything for your birthday? On social media? I said ‘Happy Birthday’ in person! We celebrated together,” he says with a wink and kisses your temple. You and Gray have officially been together for 8 months now, and he has been keeping your relationship a little too low-key for your liking. You knew it was silly to get worked up about him not posting about your birthday, but it got under your skin.
“It’s not that I’m mad you didn’t say anything online. I’m mad that you’ve been keeping me a secret for so long. Shouldn’t you want to show me off? Shouldn’t you want to let everyone know I’m yours? I mean by the way you act when another guy breathes in my direction, you would think you want people to kn-“
“It’s just not the right time,” he says sternly, cutting you off. “I’m not ready!”
“You’re not ready? Gray let’s not act like they don’t already suspect something. Literally all you’d be doing is confirming it!” you argue, wiping your hands on the dish towel and turning around to face him.
“I’ll admit I’m selfish. It’s nice for it to be just us two and no one else! And I’m scared of what my fans will think! I don’t want you to go through the hate.”
“Well please, try to get over it because I’m starting to be over you and I,” you say and walk out of the kitchen.
“Babe? Baby wake up,” Gray whispers in your ear. It’s late morning and your shared bed feels cold despite the body heat due to the argument you had three days ago. And that was killing him inside. “(Y/N)! I know you’re mad and my morning breath is absolutely horrid but I need you to wake up for me,” he whines, a smirk forming on his lips when he sees you roll over to look him in the eyes.
“What?” You groan, placing your hand on his face and a kiss on his lips. No matter how mad you got, you could never deny the boy a kiss on his perfectly pink and pouty lips.
“Look on Instagram,” he says, handing you his phone enthusiastically. “I posted it last night after you fell asleep and I’ve been dying for you to wake up. Of course this is the day you decide to sleep in,” he whines.
The screen displayed a picture of your hand in his, with the caption ‘all mine’. You smile softly at his gesture and kiss him gently once more. “I know it’s small but it’s a start, right?”
You nod and bury your face in his chest. “I love you. So much.”
Not too long after, the same phone rings and Grayson quickly hops out of bed to answer it without waking you once more. “E, what’s up?” he whispers to his brother on the other end, making his way into the hallway. “You good?”
“I’m proud of you. I know that was hard but you did the right thing. The fans already love her,” Ethan says. “Keep her around, please. She’s the one for you. I can tell.”
