what are the crowds like at their shows??
It depends from show to show! LA/OC Shows are usually pretty wild, Texas can get intense, but other than that, most shows are generally chill! Keep in mind that it also varies if the show is sold out! 💙
what guitar pedals do they use to get some of there tones???
You’ll want to direct this question towards the guys themselves because we have no clue XD-Admin L

Beach Goth V: Day Two recap
Written by DJ Cait
Day two of Beach Goth was definitely the day I was leaning more towards! There were a lot of artists I was excited to see, so I made sure to get there early. Unfortunately I missed the majority of HUNNY’s set, but I was able to catch the last few songs before watching the Frights. When I arrived to the festival grounds, I was nervous because it was already sprinkling in Santa Ana. I figured it would eventually stop by the late afternoon, but boy was I wrong. The rain didn’t stop me from parading around to my favorite bands, though!

Mikey Carnevale and Richard Dotson of the Frights @ Beach Goth V
The Frights are no strangers to the KUCI community, so I was really eager and excited to see how they would perform! To my surprise, a lot of people showed up early on day two just to see these guys perform! There was a massive audience outside to see them, singing every word to every song. From people crowd surfing to lead singer Mikey Carnevale dressed up as 011 from Stranger Things throwing frozen Eggo’s at everyone, the entire set was pretty crazy in the best way possible. Even with a slight drizzle the audience was rocking out hard. As the set came to a close, I made my way over to catch a few songs from Big Reel Fish.
Reel Big Fish @ Beach Goth V
Their set was super fun with all their different instruments outside the rock band norm, such as trumpets and saxophones. They did a funky cover of a-ha’s “Take on Me,” which was a cover I didn’t know I needed until I heard it live. I’m so glad I was able to.
Clemence Quelennec of La Femme @ Beach Goth V
Psycho-rock French band La Femme brought yet another huge crowd to the Outdoor stage during the midafternoon. The entire band came out dressed up in Halloween costumes, which I appreciated very much. Lead singers Clemence Quelennec and Marlon Magnée showed their spunky personalities and pizazz as they played songs off their latest album, Mystere. It’s always interesting to see how well a foreign band does in America, considering they are from another country. The audience sure did love La Femme!
Kali Uchis @ Beach Goth V
One of my favorite performers of day two and possibly the entire weekend was Kali Uchis. The Colombian singer pulled in a huge crowd as she took the huge Dome stage outside. Her voice was just as angelic as I dreamt it would be live, and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to see her perform! She had such a wonderful stage presence—so humble yet so confident all at the same time. She even did a cover of “Suavemente,” which definitely got the crowd hyped up for the next artist—Gucci Mane. Gucci Mane was probably one of the highlights of the weekend, considering he was one of the main headliners. Thousands of people packed the barricades just to get a glimpse of the rapper. The rain was just getting hard towards the end of his set, but everyone was still pumped and excited to see the rest of his performance.
Jonny Pierce of the Drums @ Beach Goth V
After Gucci Mane’s performance, the rain was almost unbearable for the crowd to handle, thus everyone rushing to get inside the Observatory. The storm eventually flooded the Outdoor stage, even though there were still about four artists who were supposed to take the stage later on during the day. One of those bands, whom so many people were eager to see, were The Drums. They were forced to push their set back an hour and switch the mainstage inside the Observatory. Unfortunately, this made it harder for everyone to watch their performance since the crowd capacity inside the venue was much smaller than the Outdoor stage. Nonetheless, the Drums gave one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. The people who managed to squeeze their way into the venue made it worth the struggle. The audience went insane for the band, dancing and jamming the night away to all their songs. My favorite moment during the set was how loud the crowd was singing when they played their hit “Money,” which they probably sang louder than lead singer Jonny Pierce. Unfortunately the rain was too much for myself to handle, so I hit the road shortly after the Drums’ set, but I wouldn’t have wanted to end my night any other way! Until next year, Beach Goth!
