Paragraph 1: Backstory
Change. A word that would probably describe Hunter the best. Hunter Phoenix Weston grew up in Wyoming, mostly raised by his nanny since his parents were both workaholics, and from an early age he knew he was different from other boys. The small town he came from was judgemental especially when it came to people that were different. Being gay was not accepted, so Hunter kept that part of him hidden for a long time. There was only one problem, Hunter couldn’t lie, he needed to let it out so he confided in who he believed to be his best friend at the time. That was when hell started for him in high-school.
In almost no time at all everyone knew about Hunter’s sexuality. At first it started with little remarks made towards him, but soon enough the word ‘fag’ fell on a daily basis along with several beatings. Whenever he came home with bruises and his father happened to be home, he told his son to man up and that was that. His dad was judgemental as well, Hunter didn’t understand back then why. Somewhere inside Hunter was proud of who he was, but all the bullying had changed him. He became shy and scared of people in general. The days were long for him. As soon as school was out he rushed home and stayed in his room until the next day. The time spent in his room made him fall in love with acting, by watching movies and acting out the scenes he had seen in front of the mirror. Next to that he taught himself how to play the piano by ear, never having learned how to read music.
The first big change in his life came when he got accepted to Harding University. A new start that would hopefully change his life. Hunter was nervous but excited about it at the same time. New people and all boys, maybe he would be accepted there. And that he was. The first day he instantly welcomed by some friendly faces, the first one being Connor Thorpe, they became friends. True friends. Brothers. Hunter also fell in love. The day he met Jason he fell almost instantly for him even though they were so very different. Life was good, there was no more bullying and he was in love. That all changed when the boy he fell for, left Harding without any warning. From one day to the next Hunter was alone again. He waited several weeks, hoping for a sign that wouldn’t come. His heart was broken, he needed a friend.
Luckily by this time he had made several friends already, one of them being Antonio Bianchi. The boy helped him get back on his feet and feelings started to grow between the two. Grow up to the point where Hunter went down on one knee. The once shy boy wasn’t so shy anymore, even his stutter had vanished. Only when he was nervous or upset, the stutter would arise again.
His relationship with his mother had improved greatly over time as well. After a long talk she knew she hadn’t been there enough for him and quit her job. Hunter is now very close to his mother. His father he doesn’t speak to, after finding out the man that judged him was in fact a closetted bisexual, Hunter didn’t want to see him anymore. It hurt him too much to do so, so he had left it like that for now.
After finishing the years at Harding, Hunter was kinda lost for a while. There were choices and decisions to be made. Though everyone expected him to chase his dream of going to Broadway, he decided to chase a different dream he had. Now, after having gotten the needed paperwork and a quick course in management, he is the owner of the local coffeehouse and a happily married young man, enjoying life to the fullest in his own unique perfectionistic way.
Paragraph 2: Personality/about
Hunter is mostly outgoing and friendly to anyone, he is usually one of the faces that greets new arrivals. This is mostly due to his past of not having friends. For his friends he would do anything. Another thing he is known for is how perfectionistic he is. When something needs to be done he writes it down and makes lists of things to do, which often drives people around him slightly crazy. Hunter is honest and the worst liar in the world probably, his stutter is a sure giveaway that he isn’t telling the truth, so he doesn’t even try to lie. Hunter, while seemingly sweet, does have a temper which is sometimes hard for him to control. This happens mostly when he sees a friend get hurt or someone hurt him, it’s hard for him to calm down and only a select few can help him calm down then.
Paragraph 3: Character & Plot relations
Hunter is a married man, young as they may have been at the time, they knew it was right and Hunter can’t imagine his life without Antonio Bianchi by his side. Hunter still greets people who arrive, he believes everyone deserves to feel welcome, just like he did when he first arrived. Even though some of his friends have graduated, he still keeps in touch with most of them. Connor Thorpe, who was always like a brother to him, still regularly visits for one. There is also a guy named Marc Kroon, the only one who knew Hunter back in his high school days because he was one of the bullies, aside from being Hunter’s first kiss. When Marc first arrived at school they tried to be friends and failed at that at first. But through the time spent at Harding they have managed to form some kind of friendship. Hunter’s mother lives near Boise now with her boyfriend who used to be a teacher at Harding.
