Rant incoming

I have never felt so offended as I did 2 nights ago when I overhead a drunk "friend" (I use that term very loosely) accusing me of emotionally cheating on my boyfriend.

For some context:

I have been with my boyfriend for a yr and a half now and am absolutely still in love and happy as Larry.

My previous relationship ended abruptly when my ex cheated on me and left me rather emotionally wrecked for many months.

I have 2 people I consider to be my best friends, and one of them happens to be a guy who is also best friends with my boyfriend.

I am a very affectionate and cuddly person and gladly accept affection from my best friends and boyfriend and love each of them though in very different ways and my boyfriend is absolutely fine and happy with the way I am and comfortable with everything.

So why did she accuse me of cheating?

She is under the assumption that my partner knows nothing about me being a cuddly person and that me cuddling my best friend while we were on a holiday together that my boyfriend wasn't able to join us on meant that I must have some sort of romantic or sexual feelings towards this guy.

BECAUSE CLEARLY BOYS AND GIRLS CAN'T EVER BE BEST FRIENDS WITHOUT THEIR BEING SOMETHING MORE TO THE RELATIONSHIP AND I CAN'T LOVE MORE THAN ONE PERSON BECAUSE THAT'S EMOTIONAL CHEATING.

Isn't it obvious?

For fucks sake grow up and have the decency to actually ask before you just assume.

So now this person has spread a rumour amongst people that I see semi-regularly that my relationship is going to fall apart because I've been cheating with my and my boyfriend's best friend.

If you can't fathom being best friends with someone of the opposite gender then you are the one in trouble, not me.
