Today was Minji's last day in Korea. Jake begged you to go to the airport with them but you really had a lot of work to get done, so you said goodbye to her in your apartment and sent her off with Jake.
On the way to the airport they didn't talk too much but they did have one last conversation before she went into the gate.
"Thank you for everything Jake," Minji started. "Sorry if I made you uncomfortable the other day."
Jake sighed. "Minji.. you're a good friend and I don't want this to ruin our whole group. But please, don't think we can ever be anything more than friends.. we dated for a year in high school and that was that. I love Y/N, a lot."
Minji nodded. "Yeah yeah, it was wrong of me to try and win you back.. I understand that now. Cynthia yelled at me a lot yesterday."
Jake let out a hearty laugh. "Yeah, she's had Y/N's back this whole time.. thanks for being so understanding Minji. Again you're a good friend of mine; let's keep it that way."
"Agreed. You're proposing this December in Australia right?"
"Actually... I'm proposing next week."
Minji's eyes widened with excitement. "What, no way! What happened, why the sudden change?!"
Jake rubbed the back of his neck feeling embarrassed. "I.. haven't been the best to her recently.. actually the night you were at your grandma's.. she wanted us to take a break."
Minji gasped. "Jake.. I'm so sorry."
He shook his head. "It's okay. We talked it through, I begged her not to do this, and she agreed. So I've just been, I don't know, scared? That night really shocked me so much.. I don't think I can wait till December. I'm moving all the plans around to next week."
"Jake that'a awesome! You got the hotel and flight tickets and all?"
"Yeah yeah, everything was booked yesterday."
Just then the last announcement for Minji's flight was made. She gave one last goodbye to Jake and headed to the gate as he made his way back to his car.
Jake had never felt so guilty like he did the past two days. It was eating him up; the fact that he gave another woman more attention than he gave you; the woman that you were uncomfortable with him being around. Every time he thought about it he winced and thanked God that you didn't leave him.
You had forgiven him; Jake loved you and you never once doubted that. But he didn't care– he'd make it up to you in the best way possible.
After leaving the airport he went to the ENHYPEN dorm to tell the news about him moving up his proposal plans and assigning them their roles. He then went to the company to talk to them about his decision. They already knew you Jake was proposing in December and were fine with it, but now Jake had to tell them the slight change in plans so they could have the statement ready by next week.
Once all of that was taken care of Jake headed back to the apartment and started cleaning. It wasn't messy; how could it be? You were so good at taking care of the house, taking care of him, taking care of your relationship when he'd mess it up..
Jake sighed as he walked into the empty house. You were just at work, he knew it of course. But he couldn't imagine how distraught he'd be if every single day he came home to an empty house, knowing you would never return.
Jake started by cleaning up the guest room and guest bathroom Minji had used; putting new sheets, changing the trash, wiping down the furniture. He then went on to clean the rest of the bathrooms in the house, then tidying up the kitchen and master bedroom. Once those were taken care of he took a 10 minute break to order food, and continued on cleaning the dining room and living room.
You were exhausted, having a hard day at work yourself. You trudged up to the front door and fumbled with your keys before the door swung open revealing a very happy yet tired Jake.
"Hi baby, you're home!" he exclaimed.
You giggled and pecked his lips as you walked into the house. "Hi my love, how was your day today?" As soon as you walked further into the house you immediately realized it was sparkling; everything was sparkling. You turned to Jake in shock who was standing there expectantly. "Jake.. did you clean the house while I was gone?"
He eagerly nodded. "Did I do a good job? Actually you can't judge just from seeing this.. I cleaned the guest bedroom, our room, the bathrooms and kitchen too!"
Your eyes were still widened in shock and you slowly wrapped your arms around Jake's neck. "Baby, I appreciate it but why'd you do all of that? I would've come home and done it anyways."
He wrapped his arms around you. "It's not fair that you have to do all of it," Jake pouted. "I live here too, this is my house too. I should take on some of the household responsibilities."
"You do honey! You have your own chores and I have mine."
Jake shook his head. "I just take the trash out and pay the bills once a month Y/N. You clean and cook almost everyday.. I come home every single day and appreciate it but I don't think I say it enough so I'm sorry. I genuinely appreciate everything you do, and after doing what you do for a day, I'm fucking exhausted."
You laughed as you pulled him into a hug. "Aww, thank you Jake. Really, I appreciate this a lot."
"Of course baby.. by the way, is it too late for you to put in some vacation days for next week?"
You raised an eyebrow at him. "What are you plotting now Sim Jaeyun?"
"Nah nah nothing.. I was thinking you and I could spend a couple days in the Maldives?"
"Maldives!? Jake, are you serious!?" you squealed.
Jake smiled, relieved you were this happy. The Maldives was a dream destination for you; you had always talked about going there so why not get proposed to there?
"It's a day long flight," Jake explained. "We need two days for the flights, we'll spend 4 days there. What do you think?"
You squealed again and tightly hugged Jake, jumping into his arms. "Thank you thank you thank you!! You're the best boyfriend ever. When do we leave?"
"Friday."
You were so excited for the trip that Friday felt like it was in forever, but finally you were in the Maldives. The first night you guys slept almost immediately after getting there because you were so drained but the next day you guys were up bright and early, enjoying all that the Maldives have to offer.
Today was the last full day in the Maldives, and the two of you were enjoying some down time in your private hotel room pool. Jake glanced to check on you and saw you at the edge of the pool, furrowing your eyebrows while staring at your phone. He swam up to you and grabbed his beverage. "What's wrong baby?"
"My parents," you responded. "They're not responding! I know I have good service so I don't know why they're not answering."
Despite you not looking at Jake, he still looked away from you. He couldn't lie to you, and he knew that if he mad eye contact with you, he'd spoil everything about the proposal. "M-maybe they're just busy."
You shook your head as you tried dialing them again. "No.. it's like just past evening in my country right now, they're definitely home."
Jake knew he had to distract you before you somehow caught on. He just had to hide all of this from you for another couple hours; as tonight was the proposal.
From the minute he woke up this morning he felt like throwing up. Every single second he felt like regurgitating. You wouldn't say no right? Nah nah, you love him.. right?!

Jake pulled you back into the middle of the pool and you guys spent more time in the pool until you felt your skin pruning. After you had come out of the shower you saw a couple of wrapped gifts laying on the bed. You looked to your boyfriend with a confused look and he just returned a smug smile.
"Open them," Jake commanded. "It's for our date tonight."
You headed to the bed and one by one opened the boxes. The first one had a beautiful pair of pencil heels covered in golden and silver sparkles. Next was a black leather handbag and the one after it had a diamond crystal heart necklace. The last box you opened had your jaw drop slack open. The dress in the box perfectly matched the shoes; it was pretty short in the front but the tulle in the back went all the way down to the floor and without wearing it, you could tell it would snatch your waist in such an alluring way. It was off the shoulder with a straight neckline and the short bit of sleeves there were drooped down to your elbows.
You caressed the sequins on the dress before turning to your boyfriend and jumping to hug him, not caring you were in just a robe. "Jake, I'm gonna cry! You're the best and this whole look is amazing! Thank you so so SO much!"
He rubbed your back as he held back a huge grin. "Anything for the love of my life." He kissed your forehead before letting you go. "Get dressed, I'm almost ready. We should head to the restaurant in an hour."
Jake had booked a reservation for the two of you at "The Cloud"; an Italian-Chinese sit down restaurant that had numerous 5-star reviews for not only the food but the fancy and romantic ambiance as well.
You two enjoyed your extremely romantic dinner; the food was tremendously good and you two just couldn't stop laughing and looking at each other with the utmost love you could hold in your eyes.
After the dinner Jake suggested a walk on the beach and you happily agreed, not wanting the night to end. You were walking hand in hand, you barefoot with your shoes in Jake's empty hands.
"Jake," you called out breaking the comforting silence.
"Yeah baby?"
You looked to him and kissed his cheek softly. "Thank you.. for everything. The last 4 days have felt so magical I just.. I can't even describe it. I really appreciate everything you've done for me, everything you've made me feel."
Jake's eyes softened as he looked at you, returning the kiss on the cheek. "Again, anything and everything for you baby. I'm just glad we're finally getting quality time alone."
You hummed. "Minji and you are good right? I didn't intend to break up a friendship."
Jake snapped his head towards you and gave you crazed look. "Baby, what are you talking about? You did nothing wrong! If my friendship with Minji would've ended it would've been because of her trying to break us up. You went through so much the last couple weeks and held everything in.. I'm so proud of you but I can't help but feel guilty because of it."
You took your free hand and caressed Jake's forearm with it. "Stop feeling guilty; you've done more than enough to make it up," you giggled.
Jake hesitated a little before biting his lip. "Well, does that mean you don't want the last surprise?"
You groaned. "Jake there's more? You've already done so much what could possibly–"
"Shh," he brought a finger up to your lip. "Let me do the talking right now." You both stopped walking and Jake let go of your hand. He placed your shoes on the sand and stood in front of you. "You trust me right Y/N?"
You vigorously nodded. "Of course Jake! With my whole life."
He gently kissed your lips before reaching into his pocket for a blue velvet box and got down on one knee making you gasp.
"Jake! I–"
"Baby," he whined. "I said let me do the talking." He waited for your nod to continue and did so with a sigh. "Okay look, truth be told I had a completely different speech prepared for this because.. actually I was planning to propose this December when we planned to go to Australia. I had this whole yacht lunch date planned and then an orchestra band and an after party.. but then the last couple weeks happened. And when you suggested we take a break, I.. I felt like my entire world collapsed."
Jake had tears threatening to fall out of his eyes as he looked up at you with so much love. "You are my entire world.. I couldn't ever imagine a life without you, and I don't think I could wait 3-4 more months to propose. This moment right here, this calm after the storm, it feels right. I want nothing more than to be with you forever. I– I can't promise that I'll always be a good husband even though I know you'll always be a good wife, and I'll apologize for that every single day that I'm alive, but I'm always going to do my very best to keep you happy. Nothing matters to me more than your happiness. Let me be the only man to make you happy forever Y/N. Please.. will you marry me?"
You didn't trust your voice as you could feel the sobs closing up your throat so you nodded, extending your left hand for Jake to slip the ring on; it fit perfectly.
He finally let the tears slip and came up from his position to hug you tight and you let him, wrapping your own arms around his form as you two sobbed. Jake kissed your head repeatedly. "Thank you baby, thank you for making me the happiest I've ever been."
You pulled back a little for the hug and kissed some of his tears away before kissing his plump lips. "I– I love you so much Jake I– thank you for everything."
Jake kissed you once again, murmuring an 'I love you too' as you two finished crying. He grabbed your shoes again and put his hand out to grab your now bejeweled one. "Shall we head back to our room, my fiancee?"
You couldn't help but break out into a smile at the new name. "Of course fiance... God I wish my mom was picking up my calls so I could tell her we're engaged..."
Jake laughed. "Your mom won't be picking up any calls for abouttt.. another 45 minutes," he reported checking his wristwatch.
You cocked your head at him. "Why? Is she not home?"
"She's on a plane.. to Korea.. your whole family is.. for the celebration party of our engagement. My parents are there by now too I think; Heeseung Hyung should've picked them up by now."
Your eyes widened. "What? You flew my parents out?!"
Jake eagerly nodded. "Yup! That's why we're heading back to Korea so early tomorrow morning; we have an engagement party tomorrow night with both of our families and closest friends. I got the guys to decorate it. They'll do fine right?"

You were in the kitchen finishing up the dishwashing when you heard lots of rustling by the front door. Drying your hands you walked out to the main area to see Jake walking into your shared apartment with shopping bags in his hand and the biggest smile you'd seen in a while.
Jake quickly yet gently put the bags down and beckoned you over. Smiling, you walked over and wrapped your arms around his neck. "What's got you in such a good mood?"
He wrapped his arms around your waist and pecked your lips. "Guess what? My high school friend group is coming to Korea for a vacation!"
You widened your eyes in excitement. "Really? Jake that's great!"
He eagerly nodded, picking up the shopping bags again and walking to the table with you following behind. "I know right! I'm so happy 'cuz I haven't seen them in a while yeah, but we really haven't spoken in forever too. For some of them it's their first time coming to Korea so I can't wait to show them around. I worked around my schedule today so I'll be able to give them enough time."
You nodded along as you took out the takeout from the bags he brought, setting the table for the two of you. "How long will they be here?"
"Two weeks. It feels short for me honestly but it's fine, I'm gonna make the most of it."
"Yeah you definitely should. Invite them for dinner as soon as they get here. I know you probably want to take them out for dinner, but I haven't met them yet and I cook well."
Jake's smile got bigger if it was even possible. He was so happy to hear you suggesting to cook dinner for his friends. If Jake loved anything more than you, it was showing you off. And what better way to do that than bringing his friends into your shared home to see how well you keep it?
He walked up behind you and kissed behind your earlobe. "Thank you baby. I can't wait for you to meet them... Uh, one thing I wanted to talk to you about though."
You turned around to face him, seeing him biting his lip nervously. "What's wrong honey?"

As soon as Jake's friends landed, they took a taxi to their hotels and after they washed up, they all came straight to yours and Jake's apartment for dinner.
As they walked into the apartment Jake introduced all of them to you; Alex, Cynthia, Taesu, Ben, Leo, and Minji. The 6 of them were so happy to meet you, saying they felt as if they knew you so well just because Jake constantly talked about you.
The dinner went well; you tried to get closer to the girls and the boys went with Jake to have "guy talk" (whatever that is). They were both really nice and genuinely seemed interested in you.
"Hey Y/N, where's the restroom?" Cynthia asked?
"Ah down the hall to the left," you replied. Cynthia quickly excused herself as you turned back to Minji. "So Minji, you said it's been a while since you've been back in Korea right?"
She hummed. "Yeah, I think last time was about 6 years ago? I remember nothing," she laughed.
You responded with a slight laugh as well. "Yeah, a lot has changed in the past couple years I've been living here too."
"Yeah.. you know I'm so happy Jake found you."
You gave her a genuine eye smile, feeling warm from the compliment. "Thank you Minji! That means a lot, really."
The warm feeling was gone as soon as it came when Minji said a sentence that made you halt.
"I mean, from the way he cried when we broke up, I was sure he'd never get over his first love."
You didn't know much from Jake's pre-debut life, having met him well after ENHYPEN debuted. You two also weren't the type to be jealous of previous relationships since you're both really loyal, so you never asked him to tell you all the details about his past relationships.
But the girl who was his first love being in your shared apartment right now? Left a bitter taste in your mouth.
"Did you not know?" Minji asked when you were quiet. "He didn't tell you?"
"No I–"
"I'm back!" Cynthia said. You were relieved, thinking Minji wouldn't bring up the topic in front of Cynthia but boy were you wrong.
"Cyn!" Minji called out. "Y/N didn't know Jake and I were a couple!"
Cynthia eyed her friend as she sat in her chair. "I mean.. that was so long ago and she's been dating Jake for the last 3 years so.. I don't think it matters anyways."
Minji was clearly taken aback but quickly shook her head. "No no no, it's weird isn't it? How could he not tell his girlfriend about his first love?"
"Maybe because he's over it?" Cynthia said matter of factly. "And you should be too." She gave a stern look to her friend and turned back to you giving you a sweet smile. "Sorry.. anyways, back to the Hello Kitty Cafe!"
After his friends had left for the night, you were contemplating asking Jake about it. It didn't really matter because again, you were in a 3 year long relationship with Jake and you guys were really committed to each other. You don't have to ask him right? Right, let's just not ruin his mood.
But Jake noticed. Jake notices everything when it comes to you; he blatantly admits his life revolves around you and that that's a 100% his choice. So after you guys got ready for bed and laid down to cuddle, Jake decided to ask you.
"I'm fine, what are you talking about?"
He squinted his eyes in disbelief. "Nah baby, you know better than to lie to me. I can see right through you," he said booping your nose. "Now tell me, what's going on in that pretty head of yours?"
"No it's just.. I didn't know your first love would be coming here."

You nodded. "No I know.. I'm not upset she's your friend necessarily but it would've been nice to know your first love was coming to our apartment."
"I understand... I'm sorry. I should've mentioned it but to be honest I'm pretty much forgetting our previous relationship, which is why I didn't really think about it. But don't worry, that relationship from high school will never effect our current relationship."
You believed Jake; of course you did. Jake had shown you nothing but pure raw love the last 3 years of your relationship. You two were also talking about marriage a lot recently, so you had no reason to doubt Jake's love and loyalty towards you.

But you couldn't. It was so embarrassing for you to even think about admitting to Jake you didn't like him being with Minji so much. You weren't usually jealous, you weren't ever controlling, so this whole feeling was so new to you and you hated it. You knew Cynthia was right; if you mentioned that him being with Minji bothered you even the slightest, Jake would stop right away. But it's just two weeks, you can handle it right?
Wrong.
The two weeks passed by in a breeze. Most of the times Jake saw Minji was in a group setting when everyone hung out together and you were always invited. The group hang outs were always a blast with no drama. Jake was always sitting next to you and one of his male friends. Cynthia would make sure every time Minji was next to her and not near Jake at all. But even if she was, you don't think it would matter much; as mentioned before, Jake was obsessed with you, absolutely infatuated with you. He constantly had a hand around your shoulder when sitting or waist and continuously would kiss cheek forehead or lips. He'd feed you, move your hair from your face, call you pretty in the middle of conversation. This man had absolutely zero shame showing PDA in front of his friends which silently consulted you.
But the hardest part was when you two would get back to your apartment, and not even an hour later Minji would hit Jake up for a favor or just because she was feeling down and needed a friend. Even though she had 5 other friends in the same hotel floor as her...
So the two weeks passed and you were feeling a bittersweet feeling. You actually really enjoyed the company of Jake's friends, especially Cynthia's, so you were sad since you'd miss them. But you were also reassured knowing Minji would be leaving.
But she wasn't. The day they were leaving she abruptly announced she extended her ticket another MONTH, something about not wanting to waste her summer break in Australia when she was enjoying Korea so much.
Annoying, yes. But you know what was even MORE annoying? Infuriating, even?
"Hey baby.. uh, Minji is asking if she can stay with us for the rest of her trip."
You momentarily halted but quickly caught yourself and continued typing on your computer. "Oh, yeah that's fine."
How could you say no? What was your reason? Your first love is flirting with you clearly and you're fucking clueless so no?? You didn't wanna be that girlfriend.
Jake came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your sitting form. "Are you sure baby? I don't want you to be uncomfortable.. I can tell that you've been a little bothered ever since you found out I dated her."
You felt guilty. You tried so hard to hide it but turns out you weren't that good at it. You turned in your seat and smiled up at him. "Jake, it's okay. I would feel bad having your friend stay at a hotel for a month when we have a perfect place to accommodate guests."
jake kissed you passionately, loving how kind and caring you were. "Thank you angel, you're truly the best thing to ever happen to me."
No matter how many sweet words or loving touches he gave you, you were still letting the voices in your head get to you. Minji was now staying with you, but you were noticing things that irked you.
You know, the things that a girl does that another girl would notice and know her motive but guys would be absolutely clueless about?
It started with what she did the last two weeks; constantly needing Jake to take her somewhere or do something for her which coincidentally (not, the bitch knew what she was doing) aligned with your work schedule so you couldn't ever join them. But then it got weird for both you and Jake.
One night before bed Minji asked you if she could make breakfast for the three of you the next morning and you happily agreed, happy you could sleep in the next morning. So you did, waking up with Jake wrapped around you as usual. You quickly got dressed in his t-shirt and some shorts and headed down to see if Minji needed help but were shocked when you walked into the kitchen.
There she was cooking in a cropped tank top and really revealing sleep shorts. You poked the inside of your cheek with your tongue, slightly annoyed that she was walking around your place like this but like the mature person you are, let it go and helped her by setting the table.
Jake was calling for you as he woke up and you yelled out saying you're in the kitchen. He walked in and halted as his eyes landed on Minji. "Baby I thought we were gonna sleep in– oh, uh, h-hey Minji."
You glared hard at Jake, hating how he blushed as he immediately looked to the floor.
His eyes quickly landed on you and his eyes widened, realizing how that looked to you. "No wait babe I–"
"Grab the orange juice from the fridge please. Minji's done cooking."
He reached out to you but you moved out of his way and took the dishes that were done to the dining table. Jake felt dejected but he followed your orders and sat down after getting the juice and glasses.
You started conversing more with Minji during the breakfast, basically ignoring Jake who had a permanent pout on his face. You were being petty, yes, but you needed to get a little revenge.
But Minji wasn't making it easy for you.
"How's the food Jake?" she asked. "What do you like the most?"
"Huh? O-oh uh, yeah it's good. The banana bread is really good."
She squealed and clapped. "I knew it! Do you not remember? This is the banana bread I used to make for you when we were dating!"
Both you and Jake paused. He was clearly flustered and looked to you for a reaction but you were looking at your food and enjoying it. "Uh I-I don't remember sorry."
"Really Jake? I made it for you all the time! When you first told me you loved me, when we celebrated our one year, when we first slept togeth–"
Jake started violently coughing and you just pushed the water jug towards him, not bothering to pour him some. He looked at you shocked as he continued hacking. Immediately Minji got up and gave him water, rubbing his back while subtly pushing her breasts in his face. He noticed and backed up but she continued getting closer.
Having had enough, you stood up with force from your chair and gave them a petty smile. "I'm done. Thanks for the food Minji it was great! I'm gonna go now, I have plans."
"Wait where are you going?" Jake asked. "I thought we could hang out today since you're off."
"I have plans with Jay."
"Wait what wait why?? Alone? You don't hang out with Jay alone??"
You shrugged as you grabbed your plate and glass to go wash. "Well there's a first for everything."
Jake shook his head. "We'll come with you guys. Jay will get along with Minji I'm sure."
She tugged at his hoodie sleeve, fucking bitch. "Jakey! We have plans to go to Lotte today remember?"
You scoffed at the nickname. "You two go to Lotte. I wanna hang out with Jay alone anyways."
You missed the dejected look on Jake's face. "O-okay.. Take my card."
"It's good Jay actually offered to take me out for the day, but I have my card just incase."
Now that you knew would irk Jake to the max. Jake NEVER let you spend your own money let alone let another man spend money on you so he always always gave you his card. You denying to take his card definitely sparked some anger in him.
You quickly left after that, not wanting to stay there with them any longer. This was the first time you left the two alone in your apartment but you had utmost trust in Jake so you knew nothing would happen.
That night you came home later than expected; not too late but 9pm. Honestly you have no idea how the day passed. You were closest with Jay in ENHYPEN after Jake so anytime you two talked it was for hours and hours.
As you walked into the house it was quiet. You thought maybe they weren't back yet but then you heard muffled voices in the basement.
After putting your things away you walked down to see Jake sitting on the couch with his head in his hands and Minji sitting next to him rubbing his back. You stayed behind the door, wanting to hear the conversation.
"I just don't.. get it.." Jake said sadly. "Anytime we go out without each other.. we always text and call the other letting them know we're okay."
Ah fuck, you thought. By any means you didn't mean to not text or call Jake, knowing fully well this is a rule between you two. You completely forgot to charge your phone last night, and by the time you had met up with Jay your phone was dead.
Minji hummed. "Maybe she's just having a lot of fun? I'm sure it's nothing."
"But still.. h-how can she not answer my calls? I know, I know I haven't been the best boyfriend recently but.."
"Jakey.. what if she just doesn't love you anymore?"
No. There was no way she just put that into Jake's head.
He snapped his head towards her. "What are you saying Minji.. I–I'm not in the mood for jokes right now."
"I'm not joking! You know I've been noticing she's been kinda distant from you recently. I thought you two fought but if you're also confused then it might just be her."
"Minji, you don't know anything about Y/N and I. We have a love that's hard to find anywhere else.. respectfully you don't know what you're talking about."
"But I do! Girls notice these things. Trust me, something's off."
"Thanks Minji, but I'm done with this conversation." He tried standing up but she pulled him back down even closer to her.
"Jake why can't you see clearly?! Why can't you take a hint?! I've been here for over a month just because of you! I came back to Korea for you! I never got over you, how could you easily forget me! I still love you, and if she can't give you that, be with me!"
Jake snatched his hand away from her and stood up. "Minji you're crossing the limit. You came here to win me back knowing I'm proposing to Y/N soon? That's really low. She loves me and I love her. Don't get involved." He turned to walk away and saw you standing by the doorframe and his eyes widened. "Y-Y/N.."
You gave him a sad smile. "I was coming in to ask if you guys had fun.. seems like you did."
Jake shook his head as he walked towards you. "How much did you hear?
"Everything I needed to. I didn't talk to Jay today about how distant we've been, didn't think you'd run to your friend about it either."
"Baby I–"
"I'm going to bed. Goodnight Minji."
Being tired from today's emotional events you passed out as soon as you got to bed, not giving Jake a reason to apologize. He knew it was wrong of him to go to his ex about his relationship problems, knowing you were already insecure about her being here. He decided tomorrow would be the day you guys finally talked about it.
Tomorrow came and Jake had dropped Minji off at her grandma's for the day. On the way home he picked up breakfast for you two and a bouquet of your favorite flowers. When he got inside he called you down to eat and as you two started eating the tension was thick.
Jake offered to clean up after the silent breakfast and you hummed, letting him do it on his own. You headed back to your shared room and started putting away clean laundry. Soon Jake came up and sat on the bed as you walked around. "Hey baby.. we should talk."
"I'm listening, go ahead."
Jake sighed. "Baby please," he pleaded. "Just come sit with me for a sec."
Reluctantly you went and sat a good couple inches away from Jake much to his dismay. "Okay, now go ahead."
He sighed before starting to apologize. "Look I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have gone to her with our private problems. I should've kept it to myself and talked about it when you came home."
You shook your head. "That's not even the biggest thing Jake. The past month and a half you've been spending the most time with Minji. Tell me, when was the last time you and I went to bed at the same time?"
Jake was quiet as he thought back to the last time and he couldn't remember. "I.. I don't.. remember."
"Exactly. I've barely seen my own boyfriend since Minji got here. And I wish I wasn't jealous but I am. And honestly Jake.. after the conversation you had with her yesterday.. I don't know where we stand."
Jake widened his eyes. "Wait, babe hold up. Don't say that, what are you talking about? We're fine, we're good. We talked it out. I'm gonna make my friendship with Minji very clear and we'll get over this."
"Jake it's not as simple as that. I've felt so distant from my boyfriend for the past 6 weeks! The guy who has to constantly be around me all of a sudden wasn't because his first love came back!"
Jake looked hurt. "I don't love her anymore... y-you don't think I do, right? Right Y/N? Say something please."
You ran a hand through your hair. "Jake, listen to me." You looked him right in the eyes hoping your message would be clear. "I love you. I know you love me too. I want to be with you forever, but right now we need to take a step back."
"W-what do you.."
"Jake, I want to take a break."
Jake's eyes widened and he grabbed your hands tightly. "Wait, what? What are you talking about?"
"Just for a little bit, we need to be separate. So we can gather our feelings–"
"I know my feelings!" he wailed. Jake had tears in his eyes as he tried to not let them fall. "I love you and only you! We don't need a break, I can't be without you."
You patted his hands. "Just for a little bit.. I'll stay with a friend for about two weeks and we'll come back and try to fix this."
Jake shook his head. "W-we can fix this now. We're talking about it, we'll fix this now." Jake let the tears fall and he engulfed you in a hug. "Please Y/N, please.. d-don't go.. d-don't leave.."
You let him sob as you silently cried, holding him tight as a way to calm him down. "Okay.. okay.. calm down... we won't take a break okay? Hmm? We won't."
He let go of the hug and looked at you with wide glossy eyes and a pout. "P-promise me.. when I come back from picking Minji up, promise me I won't see your things gone."
You shook your head. "No no, I'll come with you to pick her up. And we'll go out and enjoy a nice dinner with her.. and when she leaves tomorrow, you and I will sit and talk every single thing through okay?"
Jake nodded and sniffled. "I'm so sorry. I really should've taken your feelings into consideration.. I guess I just felt a sense of responsibility to do things for her since I'm the only person who can do anything for her here since I've got the car and stuff.. not a good excuse I know. But still, it's the truth. And I'm really fucking sorry."
You accepted his apology with a kiss on his lips. "It's okay Jake.. I forgive you. I love you so much."
"I love you too wifey."

Your cover of KARD's 'Cake' with Jungwon was coming out today and you couldn't be more nervous than you were right now.
You were a good singer but definitely felt pretty self-conscious covering 'Cake', as both Somin and Jiwoo's voices are so unique and you were scared you wouldn't be able to match their energy.
Probably the biggest thing you were scared of was the reaction of fans and netizens. You had hinted at your special video about two weeks ago; during a live a fan commented asking for all of your members to give a spoiler as to what they had planned for their 2nd anniversary gift to fans, and you mentioned doing a hot dance cover with a male idol. Everyone was going crazy trying to figure out who this male idol could be but nobody had any clue which made you more nervous. You were hoping you and Jungwon didn't receive too much backlash for this.
The only part of this whole collab with Jungwon you were confident about was the dance. You're the main dancer of your group and this style of choreography is what you're best at. But even though you were positive from the beginning that you'd kill the choreo, you were constantly getting flustered and it was all because of Jungwon.
Jungwon's only condition to helping you with this collab was that you'd go on a date with him and give him a chance. He'd been pinning after you for a while at that point, it wouldn't hurt to give it a try right?
And so you did. The day after that conversation took place Jungwon had planned a very romantic date with you. First he took you to this beautiful rooftop garden cafe in the heart of Gangnam. Then, staying on the nature theme, he took you to a rose garden nearby. You two walked around for a bit and talked, enjoying this one on one time with each other. After enjoying the garden and clicking a few pictures, you two made your way into Hongdae for the night as that night there was a cultural food festival happening with street food from all around the world. Jungwon knew how much you loved learning about different cultures, and you were both foodies, so it was the perfect end to a perfect date.
After that you two didn't talk about where you'd go from there anymore. You two had gotten quite busy with this collab, as you had less than a month to learn the song, record it, then learn the dance, record it.
But Jungwon didn't make it easy for you. Grabbing your waist and hips whenever he'd walk by you, pecking your lips while resting his hand on your ass after each run through of the song, hugging you from behind as you monitored the recordings, hugging you and hiding his face in your neck when he got turned on from dancing, grazing his hand against your chest, holding your hand whenever he got the chance, and leaving sweet kisses on your cheek to encourage you. And let's not forget the nicknames and the praises he'd give you after a successful practice. "You did a good job princess", "What do you think baby, we can go one more time right?", "Wow, you do that move really well my pretty girl", "Good girl, you did well".
It was pure torture for your heart and your hormones.
So yeah the video was coming out today and you were nervous. I guess you're expecting Jungwon to be nervous too right? I mean ENGENES might go insane seeing this and he might be scared of receiving a lot of backlash.
Wrong.
Since he woke up this motherfucker had the biggest shit eating grin on his face, prancing around his dorm just counting down the minutes before the video is released.
Finally it was time so all of ENHYPEN sat around the living room, pulling the video up on their TV.
"Alright~," Jake cheered. "I'm so excited, let's go." He pressed play and all the members focused on the video.
Everyone pretty much had the same reaction as the video went out. Most of the members were pretty quiet, jaws slack except for the occasional gasps and small commentary. Sunoo's hand was over his mouth and he was the one talking the most, things like "Jungwon-ah seriously?! Wah this is too much!" leaving his mouth. Niki just kept laughing while Jungwon sat there with the proudest smirk on his face.
After it ended he paused the video. "So, what did you all think of our collab?"
Jay just shook his head with a shocked expression on his face. "Man.. I don't know how you were able to keep your cool Won-ah."
Heeseung hummed, eyes still trained on the now black TV screen. "I don't know what I'd do if I was the one in your place.. I'd probably be too nervous to even go through with it."
Jungwon wasn't stupid and he wasn't blind either. You're beautiful, you're hot, you're desirable. He knew his members thought so as well but they had never expressed it that much until today.
Jake bit his lips and rolled his eyes, slouching on the couch and almost falling off of it as he groaned. "Don't put that image in my mind Hyung! God I wish she asked me instead of Jungwon. She's so hot I would feel so honored if she asked me to do this dance with her."
"You wouldn't know what to do with her," Sunghoon teased.
"And you would?" Heeseung scoffed. "If anything, it would be me or Jay if not Jungwon."
"What about me?" Niki suggested. "I'm the best dancer out of all of you."
Sunoo glared at him and hit his shoulder. "You're still a baby."
Niki shrugged. "Still know when to appreciate a pretty girl though."
Jungwon clenched his jaw, deciding if he should step in now and use his leader card or not. Technically you two weren't official yet so he couldn't even prevent his members from fanboying over you.
"Stop it guys," Jungwon lightly scolded. "We shouldn't talk about her in that way."
"Oh you don't get a say in this," Jay defended. "You got the luckiest out of all of us, let us fanboy in peace."
"Well hurry up," he sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "She's coming over soon and I don't want her to hear you guys objectifying her."
Jake's eyes widened at his leader's words. "Eh?! Y/N is coming here?!"
Jungwon nodded. "Yeah, we're hanging out."
Jungwon wanted to tell them that this was technically a 2nd date, but he didn't know if you wanted anyone to know you two are seeing each other yet.
Jake screamed excitedly and started hitting Heeseung's shoulder. "Hyung! Hyung! Do you think I should ask her out?"
Jungwon's eyes widened. Jake liked you??
Heeseung had his arms crossed and he just laughed amusedly at Jake. "You really think you're her type? I'm her bias!
"Actually she biases me too," Jay corrected.
"Actually she biases all three of us.." Jungwon mumbled but no one heard him.
Jake nodded. "But she said in an interview that she finds Australian accents the hottest, specifically Brisbane accents. And where am I from? Brisbane Australia, that's right baby~."
"She also likes tall guys older than her," Heeseung said. "I'm the tallest and oldest here."
"We have more things in common and our values match the best," Jay argued.
Sunghoon just crossed his arms and laughed, shaking his head at the craziness ensuing. He eyed Jungwon who was sitting there with a pout on his face and laughed even more. "Imma stay out of this one, looks like she has enough suitors after her anyways."
Of course Sunghoon thought you were pretty and would have liked to get closer to you in a romantic setting, but under different circumstances. He was one of Jungwon's roommates, Sunghoon along with Niki and Sunoo knew well Jungwon had a huge crush on you.
The three eldest continued bickering as Jungwon just sat there listening to them, his mood having been completely shifted from earlier. This went on until the doorbell rang and everyone froze.
"Shit," Jake said. "That's her isn't it? Fuck do I look good?"
"Why would you need to look good when I'm the one she needs to focus on," Heeseung retorted as he opened his phone camera to fix his hair.
"Yah someone get the door don't make her wait!" Jay yelled.
Being closest to the door Niki got up to open it for you. "Hey Noona," he greeted.
"Hi Niki!" you chirped. You walked inside and took your shoes off, seeing all the guys sat there. "Ah, you're all here, hey!"
Everyone greeted you as you placed your bag down. You expected Jungwon to be more enthusiastic seeing you but all he did was mutter a 'hello'.
"Hey Y/N!" Jake greeted. "Come sit here."
You were gonna sit next to Jungwon, but seeing there's more space near Jake you went there instead.
Completely missing how Jungwon balled his fists up.
"So we just watched your collab with Jungwon," Jay started. "You both did really well! And you looked absolutely stunning by the way."
You blushed from the pair of 8 eyes on you. "Th-thank you Oppa.."
"Yah, are we making you blush?" Heeseung asked smirking.
"N-no!" you firmly denied but your sudden red cheeks gave it away. "It's just... hot."
"It's 'cuz I'm next to you huh," Jake teased making you giggle.
Jungwon rolled his eyes and stood up abruptly, making everyone look to him but his eyes were only on you. "I'll be in my room. Let me know when you wanna hang out with me."
Everyone stopped what they were doing, exchanging weird glances before they went back to some other topic of conversation. You couldn't focus so you also got up, excusing yourself as you made your way to Jungwon's room and knocked on the door.
"Come in."
You walked in and saw him laying down in his bed, scrolling through his phone. "Hey Won.."
He glanced at you then went back on his phone. "What's up?"
"You okay?" You didn't want to bother him incase he was mad at you so you opted to sit on the edge Sunghoon's bed. "You just kinda up and left.. barely acknowledged me too."
Jungwon spared you another glance before he sighed and sat up, swinging his legs over so he was also on the edge of his bed. "If you're gonna come and check on me, at least don't do it while sitting on another man's bed."
You immediately realized what was wrong, getting up and sitting right next to Jungwon. You boldly grabbed his hand and caressed it. "Jungwon-ah, what's going on? I feel like you don't wanna hang out anymore."
He let out another sigh as he gathered his feelings. "Sorry Y/N I.. I just got j-jealous.."
"Jealous? Of me sitting next to Jake? I wanted to come next to you but he offered and –"
"Not just that," he interrupted. "Before you came we were watching the 'Cake' dance cover, and my Hyungs seemed to have really taken a liking towards you."
You raised your eyebrows in amusement. "Is that so?"
He nodded as a pout started forming on his pink lips. "Then Jake Hyung said he wanted to ask you out."
"What?!" you said shocked. "Jake wants to ask me out??"
Jungwon glared at you. "Yah.. why do you seem so excited?"
You giggled at his reaction and shook your head. "Not excited, just surprised. I didn't think he had a thing for me."
"They all do!" he groaned as he ran his hand through his hair. "Heeseung Hyung, Jay Hyung, and Jake Hyung at least."
"So why didn't you tell them we were going on our 2nd date today?"
"I was gonna, it was on the tip of my tongue. But then I thought about you and how maybe you'd wanna keep it private so I said nothing. But then they kept talking and I realized.. maybe I'm not as good for you as I thought I was."
You tilted your head in confusion. "Jungwon what the hell are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about your ideal type. You like taller and older guys; I'm barely taller than you and I'm younger than you. Heeseung Hyung is both of those. You find Australian accents very sexy; Jake Hyung has that and I can barely even speak English. Your values, your upbringings, your mentality is so mature; I think I'm mature but your maturity level matches Jay Hyung the most. You have a thing for hands.. and all three of them have such pretty hands even ENGENE go crazy over them... I don't even know what I'm saying anymore.."
You were shocked at Jungwon's outburst and decided to wrap his arm around your shoulder and wrap yours around his torso as you leaned into him. Jungwon gladly accept the side hug and you two stayed there a while basking in the silence. "Jungwon-ah," you called looking up at him. "An ideal type is honestly so unrealistic. I think it's nearly impossible to find one person that'll 100% match your ideal type. I mean just take mine as an example; you just named three different people in your group that have different qualities off my ideal type list. Not one member matches everything I want."
Jungwon shrugged. "Yeah you're right.. I think that made me feel better."
"Also, why are you putting yourself down like that? You're taller than me, you speak English very well! Who cares if you don't have an Australian accent? Your voice is hot on its own. And as far as your hands go.. well, I think you have very nice hands."
Jungwon raised an eyebrow as he smirked. "Oh yeah? Tell me more about that."
You hummed as you cuddle into Jungwon more. "I think I should wait on that till we have a bit more privacy. What I feel about your hands is not exactly.. rated PG."
Jungwon's smirk was wiped off his face and replaced with a cute dimple smile when you cupped his face in your hands.
"Jungwon-ah.. I want you. Not your members but you. Haven't I made that clear enough?"
