“Same here, man.” Newt replied, truthfully.  “Wouldn’t be here without you ether.” He felt the same- Hermann’s letters many a time had brightened his day when they were corresponding. Despite the fact that their first meeting ended on a sour note, Newt treasured the letters. They meant so much to him. “Hey, that’s... that’s good to hear. Thanks...”

“Oh...” Newt wanted to say, that he could have talked to him if things really hadn’t been that great, and given what Newt knows about Hermann he knows it wasn’t the best. However, back then, writing the letters, was when they were just starting to know each other. In any case, Newt replies with, “But you’ve still got me; you always have.”

They were still friends, and that was good.

True to his word, he refrains from taking any more of Hermann’s food. “Yeah, which sucks, but it’s not a whole lot. It’s like I’ve developed allergies to more things now. Just another side effect form my changed biology. Sadly, coffee is off the table unless it’s decaf. So, like I said, I’m trying to figure this stuff out in advance.“
