My banner is a slightly more pastel intersex flag with a yellow background and purple circle in the middle. My PFP is the hypergonadism flag, with 5 stripes: the top stripe is darker green, the second stripe is cyan-ish, the third stripe is light green, the fourth stripe is orange, and the last stripe is magenta.
My pronouns are exclusively they/them. Please be respectful of this.
This blog is open to hearing any and all experiences relating to hypergonadism! This includes hyperestrogenism, hyperandrogenism, hyperprogesteronemia, and more. People with mesoandrogenism, mesoestrogenism, mesoprogesteronemia, and more are also welcome to submit experiences if they believe they fit the description of hypergonadism. This blog is also a great place to talk about other traits that can be caused by forms of hypergonadism, such as labial hypertrophy, micropenis, gynecomastia, macromastia, clitoromegaly, hirsutism, and more.
More info under cut.
This blog is inspired by @intersexcultureis , @ambiguousgenitalia-culture-is , @agenital-spectrum-culture-is , and more. I would also recommend the blogs @yourfaveisintersex , @v-hypospadias , and @this-is-internoirism for general intersex stuff.
Also, go check out @hypogonadism-culture-is ! Hypogonadism is often considered the inverse of hypergonadism, which is true in a way, but people often have forms of both.
My main blog is @myirlnameiscloud .
I have hyperestrogenism, (As well as other intersex traits. The one I'm most proud of being micropenis.) and it impacted my life pretty severely, and I didn't get to talk about how it was effecting me for a very long time. Which is why I want everyone else with any form/s of hypergonadism to have a space to talk about their experiences.
This blog supports everyone with hypergonadism, no matter what your assigned gender at birth was, (or lack thereof) and no matter whether it is "debatable" on if they count as intersex. Yes, people who were afab with hyperestrogenism and people who were amab with hyperandrogenism are welcome here.
If you believe that people who were afab and/or born with vaginas cannot be transfem, or that people who were amab and/or born with penises cannot be transmasc, please reconsider and avoid this blog. We support ALL transgender, intersex, and other people with variations in sex/gender here.
Please note that I cannot diagnose you on whether or not you are intersex. I can only help as far as I am able to, which includes sharing information related to intersex traits, pointing out what seems like an intersex trait, and affirming you on any intersex traits you already have. Please do not send me pictures or drawings of your genitalia.
anonymous person who isnt able to orgasm. (and yes those 2 anonymous asks were supposed to be together thank you)
thank you for telling me about anorgasmia! it very well could be that, as there is a chance i have nerve damage from a chronic condition that wasn't treated for possibly almost 10 years /nav, or just depression (as google said that can also cause it).
sorry that it didnt fit here, my body is severely messed up and i sometimes struggle with identifying which is which, especially considering im not receiving a lot of help from doctors and all /nav
It very well could be related to general intersexuality, definitely! You don't need to apologize.
And, I hate to bring up IGM, but on the topic of nerve damage, that sounds like it could potentially be related to IGM.
MORE hormone culture is not being able to experience sexual pleasure without a fuckload ton of pain for god knows what reason
(i hope this fits here)
Note sure if this is anything related to hypergonadism? Pretty sure this may just be a you thing. But hey, I'll still say this is hypergonadism culture anyways!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the word for being unable to orgasm is "anorgasmia."
i dont know if this belongs here.. but is it MORE hormone culture if my man boobs are too small as when i want a binder id need an S size, but my ribs are too big, so id need an L size? its such a struggle and it is straight ragebait because the sizing binder copmanies use doesnt work on non perisex bodies
I mean, it totally has the potential to be hypergonadism culture!
Binder companies don't often make diverse sizes and shapes of binders. It's not just non perisex people who can't find the right size, it's also especially short people, especially tall people, fat people, many people with cardiovascular issues, and more.
I've never had a binder that fit quite right, either. My breasts are pretty saggy, so they always push down in the incorrect direction. (Side note: does anyone else with gynecomastia experience this?)
transmasc with hyperandrogenism culture is WHY DO I HAVE HAIR EVERYWHERE BUT MY FACE 💔💔💔 THE MOST I HAVE ON MY FACE IS A TEENY TINY MUSTACHE THAT OTHER PEOPLE RARELY EVEN NOTICE 💔💔💔 SOBS
This is transmasc with hyperandrogenism culture!
I get you, don't worry. I'm also transmasc, and my intersexuality actually makes it harder for me to grow facial hair, so we're kinda twinning.
questioning hyperestrogenism culture is having unexplained pelvic pains, like not right before or after periods just Whenever that suddenly went away on T and puberty blockers (among other things) but probably not being able to confirm my suspicions because of said T and puberty blockers
This is questioning hyperestrogenism culture!
As far as I know, pelvic pains on their own do not seem to be a sign of hyperestrogenism. However, if these pains seem similar to the symptoms one might experience on/before their period, then it does probably point you towards hyperestrogenism. Experiencing symptoms of periods while you're not currently on your period is a thing that hyperestrogenism can do for those with uteri (or some level of uterine tissue) whose estrogen levels are beyond the typical levels for pericis females.
Especially since these pains went away after T and puberty blockers, I'd say this is likely a hyperestrogenism thing.
I kinda feel intergender and also feel agender, but I'm not sure if it's interagender or something else? I think the ISIG makes me not feel like I've had a gender but also... intergender (specifically hyperandrogender)????
Help????
This is hypergonadism culture!
(For those of y'all that don't know, intergender means your intersexuality influences or is a part of your gender in some way)
I totally get this. I don't know if I'd consider myself intergender right now either. The good news is that you have your whole life to figure it out, if you even want to figure it out.
Special shoutout to hyperestrogenic transmascs and hyperandrogenic transfems!! Whether you want to keep your hypergonadal hormonal profile or not, you are so valid as a transfem/transmasc. You are awesome!! Never forget how much you mean to me!!!!
are there any resources about hyperprogestronemia (i hope i spelled that right)? i can't find much about it :(
I have two okay sources on hyperprogesteronemia for you. Keep in mind that they have a lot of pericis-normative language, so they won't be pretty.
This source here has some information on those whose progesterone is higher than the typical range for those whose bodies are (unaltered) more "female-typed."
This source here has some information on those whose progesterone is higher than the typical range for those whose bodies are (unaltered) more "male-typed."
Hyperandrogenism culture could (?) be never feeling isolated when with other girls (as a girl) because you have a psuedo penis and testes. I know no one is actually gonna know unless I tell them ,so it's unreasonable to be thinking about this, but I feel more isolated from knowing how they may feel towards people like me.
hyperandrogenism on estrogen culture is having to take feminizing hormones just to keep my testosterone at safe levels
This is hyperandrogenism culture!
Quick note: It would be awesome if we could call hormones what they are, ie: estrogenizing and androgenizing. Hormones aren't inherently feminizing or masculinizing. No hate to you, I've made the same mistake before.
Hyperestrogenism and transmasc culture is feeling scared that going on T will do nothing for you. What if it doesn't work on me the way it does for perisex trans men? I honestly feel like it's hopeless and not even worth it for me if it's not gonna do anything.
This is hyperestrogenism and transmasc culture!
I won't lie to you, it is a possibility that testosterone will not have as much of an effect on you as it does for perisex people, depending on how high your hyperestrogenism is and what your hyperestrogenism is caused by.
For me, testosterone works just fine! I have hyperestrogenism to the point where my estrogen levels are about as high as a typical pericis woman's. I do not know what my hyperestrogenism is caused by, but I suspect ovotestes, on top of a bunch of other stuff. My body has androgenized just fine thanks to T therapy.
If you are worried about how well your body will androgenize, you should talk to a doctor about it. I know it's scary, I know doctors can be intersexist and transphobic, but it's the best way to figure out how well testosterone will work for you.
Two causes for hyperestrogenism that may make it harder for your body to androgenize on testosterone therapy include aromatase excess syndrome and forms of androgen insensitivity syndrome.
I sincerely hope you find a way for testosterone to work for you. You may have to have a higher dose than perisex people need, and that's alright. It does not make you any less transmasculine.
Transfeminine hypergonadism culture is, having being intersex hidden from you your whole life (or at least it was in mine), finding out and educating yourself because you have no resources in a deep red state just an 'oh yeah by the way you're intersex and those odd looking stretch marks aren't stretch marks. It doesn't matter though and any pain or lack of feeling down there is normal or in your head. You're already on the treatment that's all you need to know and we don't need to do more testing even though your health is horrific' so looking into it yourself. Because of your variations and odd presentation, not knowing if you're hypergonadal or hypogonadal because one variation is responsible for one and the other is responsible for the opposite issue.
My testosterone is too high, always has been, I started virilizing at six (and was not allowed blockers because my parents wanted to pretend it didn't exist and hope it all went away and I'd be "normal) and neverr really seemed to stop even when huge spikes of estrogen twice when I was ten and thirteen just to make puberty especially wonky before plummeting back down. It's consistently too low seemingly (I haven't been able to get a blood test and it doesn't exactly feel safe to) while my testosterone is always too high and fluctuates. Fluctuates, but never dips low or even normal.
I am now on testosterone blockers and progestins but I cannot have estrogen (an attempt to give it to me when I was eight made me have color storm migraines and brain fog to the point they were worried I was going to have a stroke... Plus, well, I gesture around to current world events). I still am having a lot of issues, look and sound far too masculine for my taste, but I can't fix it. And everyday I get more and more angry that my parents wanted a "normal child" and to bury their heads in the sand over a having a healthy and happy child. Over their lying to me and letting me think I was just a broken freak. If I'd been given blockers, maybe I wouldn't be so ill now. And maybe I'd like myself, how I look, just a smidgen more.
This is transfeminine hypergonadism culture!
I am so sorry for the horrible CIMI you've had to survive.
People act like knowing you're intersex is a death sentence. Like just fucking TELL US how our bodies work, we won't be horrified.
