Intersex trait; Medandrogenism (or midandrogenism)
A word for intersex people whose natural androgen levels are between that of the two perisex typical ranges. (~ 80 ng/dL to ~ 300 ng/dL)
This is a term for people with hyperandrogenism or hypoandrogenism who reject the idea that their testosterone levels are "too low" or "too high", and rather see it as just right for them and their intersex body.
context for this: i live in quebec, canada and there's a buddy cop comedy movie called "bon cop, bad cop" where one cop is québécois and the other is onatrian and they're forced to work together and then there was a sequel.
in said sequel, there was a woman in the RCMP who was agressive in a typical early 2000s movie teen guy way. and at some point she just growls out "i have higher levels of testosterone okay?? gahh" and she's basically just....yeah that's her character...a woman w high testosterone w no visible body or facial hair but she's agressive...
This is intersexism and bio essentialism.
Testosterone ≠ aggression. How many times must we tap this sign? But alas, it's a buddy cop movie I genuinely wouldn't expect less (Ace Ventura, anybody?)
Nurse she’s drawing wolves to process complex body and gender feelings again
Genuine question because I'm figuring things out:
Why is PCOS considered an intersex condition and not a dysex condition?
Because it causes variations in the sex hormones. You may be operating under the (incorrect) assumption that the hormone disruptions come from the cysts, which is not the case (and - despite its name - not all people with PCOS actually get ovarian cysts, nor do all people with PCOS have ovaries.)
PCOS comes from the body - either the endocrine or reproductive system - producing more or less hormones than expected (hypergonadism or hypogonadism.)
PCOS has very little difference from all other hormonal intersex variations (especially NCAH, which it is commonly misdiagnosed for) in terms of where the hormones (or lack thereof) are being produced.
Intersex people with pcos you are so valid, you are intersex, your variation counts as being intersex. Your intersexuality shouldn't be debated on.
The intersex community loves and accepts you and i wish all intersex people with pcos a lovely day!

Fuck intersex gatekeepers
Fuck people who say that hyperandrogenism or hypoestrogenism caused by PCOS "isn't intersex"
Fuck people who say that a 'male' with hyperandrogenism isnt intersex, or a 'female' with hyperestrogenism "isn't intersex."
Fuck people who say that hypoandrogenism or hypoestrogenism "isn't intersex."
Fuck people who say that the agenital spectrum or people with absent/small/underdeveloped reproductive organs/gonads "aren't intersex."
Fuck people who say that duplicated or extra primary sex traits "aren't intersex."
Fuck people who say that Turner syndrome (or any other chromosomal variation) "isn't intersex."
Anyone with naturally developed genital, reproductive, hormonal, or chromosomal variations is intersex.
Intersex is a sociopolitical identity, not just a diagnosis. Doctors and the community disagree with each other on what it means to be intersex. Doctors are far behind and taught to be intersexist. They are taught to diagnose any sex variation as a disorder, deformity, or defect, rather than diagnosing it as "intersex."
Please read our intersex guide for more detail.
hi after a while of mulling on it i realized what intersex oc i wanted to submit to this
this is dell [no lastname]! she's a weremole... she was raised in a kinda like... hippie commune-ish setting in a spiritual realm (that's a lot to explain from her source material so let's just leave it at that LOL) n as a result she's kinda dorky and naive, but she's super sweet and deeply empathetic to the pain of others.
she has (bilateral) ovotestes (w/ hyperandrogenism and tuberous breasts) as a reference to how a good chunk of mole species have ovotestes - technically, you could argue she isn't intersex bc of that fact, but i disagree! i think it's interesting to play with the idea of her being intersex, not bc of her ovotestes in her weremole + mole forms necessarily, but because of the fact that, unlike other weremoles, the ovotestes stay in her human form as well. i definitely think she'd have a complicated relationship with her intersexuality, wondering if she counts since she grew up mostly in her weremole form and didn't really notice her differences from others bc of that. but in the end she would have a little fun embracing it - i think she'd enjoy the amnts of labels describing intersex experiences both alike and unlike hers :)
some other drawings of her! her talpid (mole) & crinos (weremole) forms, as well as her with her group's leader, who's in a similar boat as her (werehyena w/ hyperandrogenism that lingers from her other forms)
(separate ask that picket sent): "i forgot to mention she is also blind (congenital glaucoma)!! which i think is something else that makes her experience w/ her intersexuality weird. obviously she can Feel her stubble and Feel the lack thereof on a peritypical cis woman's face, but other than that she kind of just has to rely on the accounts of people around her - 'you Look Different' is perhaps frustratingly vague for her and it's something else that makes her doubt herself a little bit. also may be obvious but she has albinism lawl & her facial hair being white/less visible (by accounts from other people) adds to it too"
hi picket this rules severely. weremole is not a concept i would ever in my life have thought of and i REALLY like her design and the way you draw her like so much. and the intersexuality pertaining to being a weremole is such a cool concept
