Hyper-mobility and Things (and Corona Now I Guess)

The place where I complain about my excessive joint hyper mobility (still waiting for a diagnosis) and other things—now including Corona!

I started having a ticking sound in my heart at night along with palpitations every once in a while so my doctor ordered a bunch of tests because connective tissue disorders tend to be connected to heart issues and so far all the tests have come back negative for everything so I’m hella relieved ✨ One more test to go lesgoooo

THE TYPE OF SPLINT I’M GETTING IS ACTUALLY KIND OF PRETTY ✨

I’m gonna have this type of splint on both my upper and middle joints on all the fingers on my right hand tho so it’s probably gonna look a ‘lil silly 🤪

I just had an appointment with my doctor that specializes in ehlers danlos and joint hypermobility again and she recommended I try finger splints because my fingers bend in the opposite direction 😳 So NOW I have an appointment to be fitted for splints. She also told me to get a tens machine for home to help with the chronic pain without medication ‘cause I hate taking pain medication

It’s funny to me how someone who treated you horribly and gaslighted you and made you feel like your thoughts and feelings were invalid and meaningless and drove you away in the process can turn around and pretend like they didn’t do anything to you at all and that the reason you don’t speak to each other anymore is because you just “grew apart” and not because they treated you like absolute garbage and made you feel like less than a human being

Why is it so difficult for some people to just grow up and own up to their mistakes and realize that they’ve wronged someone and treated them badly and drove them away and feel even remotely remorseful about it and try to fix it?

The mentality of bad friends is something I’ll never understand. They use, neglect or just treat you like downright garbage and then when you leave they get so confused on why you don’t want to hang out anymore.

 I can see the thought bubbles inside their head “Who knew if you treated someone like crap they’d go away… huh….”. 

Even the person who goes along with everything is noticing whats going on and its only a matter of time before they disappear.

My doctor also recommended I see a gastroenterologist soon ‘cause I’ve got shit problems that I won’t go into ‘cause it’s really gross and I also vomit a LOT for absolutely no reason

I went to the doctor yesterday for a follow up on my diagnosis of Hashimoto’s disease and my doctor started me on thyroid medication and I swear if this doesn’t fix my constant exhaustion and being able to sleep 15 hours straight and still feel like I didn’t sleep at all I will cry

Does anyone else with a connective tissue disorder ever have this intense longing to have someone, like, hold you together while you sleep?? So that your joints don’t sublux or dislocate while you’re resting and you don’t wake up in an astronomical amount of pain? And so maybe your body can actually get quality rest for once without having to take medications that have side effects and make you feel empty inside??

I was gonna put this in the tags but there was too much: A lot of the symptoms mentioned can be explained by lack of oxygen delivery to the bloodstream. It's called hypoxia, it can cause tremors, delerium/hallucination, even severe nightmares/night terrors. Also brain fog, (something I commonly experience at work after using my n95 for too long), & short term memory loss. Also, being hypoxic for too long basically signals to your brain to increase your heart rate because it allows faster delivery of whatever inadequate amounts of oxygen is already in your blood. Being tachycardic for too long causes extreme body fatigue because your body thinks youre trying to run a marathon or some shit.

Also covid causes such an intense inflammatory response that it results in hypercoagulation of the blood, which can lead to circulatory issues and blood clotting.

ALSO, the reason why people seem to get better and then worse is, from what we've seen, whatever damage is done to the lung tissue seems to be permanent. So I have a patient who's been in the hospital since April, hes currently testing negative for COVID, his viral load is not high enough to be detected anymore, but hes still requires absurd amounts of oxygen and it's taking him months to wean down. Not to mention he needed to be intubated twice and now has a tracheostomy. He is 39 years old with no comorbidities.

But yeah, it's fine if we send the children back to school.

I’m so emotionally drained I feel sick. Tonight was hell, I’m so worried about my friend that I’m physically ill and exhausted, but I can’t even sleep because I’m so anxious I can’t breathe and my head is pounding
