theres a lot of jobs i think would be cool to automate but the people being automated out of a job are given no alternatives because this is being done for the employers benefit not the employee. so we're in a weird situation where im lookin at jobs that i really dont think any person should be forced to endure and still having to go "well i guess id rather a human do it than a robot" which kind of sucks major ass actually. why am i on the side of employment. god damn it.

ai pisses me off so much because it genuinely could have been so beneficial to the world.

like there's this argument that if we gave everyone their basic needs then no one would do the necessary jobs that anyone would utterly hate.

Alright, so now we have robots that can do it, so supply everyone with basic needs. they don't have to do awful jobs for a living and the awful work will still get done.

But of course the people controlling the tech don't want to supply everyone's basic needs. because that would cost them money. so instead of making ai actually useful they make it shit for everyone except greedy rich assholes.

I actually do think we should discourage women from becoming housewives. Do not become financially dependent on a man. That's how a lot of women ended up dead over the years. A man gets violent suddenly and you have to choose between homelessness or potentially dying at his hand because you have an enormous gap in your resume and no degrees or certifications or anything that will help you pursue a career that will allow you to be financially independent. He owns your bank account. His name is probably the one on the car. Try and leave and he can report it stolen. Where will you go then?

Don't become a housewife.

if you truly want to be a stay at home partner make sure you have a support system. friends and family (not just theirs. your own) who can and will support you if you need them. get your education. and don't ever become dependent on someone you don't know you can trust.

and it's not even necessarily that your partner could become abusive. what if something happens to them and you can't depend on them anymore? what if they end up dependent on you?

always have a backup plan.
