something i feel like doesn't get talked about enough is the parallel between wylan's name meaning and his mother's—sankta marya in canon is the patron saint is those far from home and wylan, if we take it to come from the same root as the closest equivalent "waylon," means "traveler" or "the land by the road." do you think wylan knows that his mother named him after those under the protection of her namesake? that he finds comfort in that connection, even when they're apart?
