THE POETS AS DIFFERENT ACADEMIA AESTHETICS
(i’ve had this in my notes for so long)
NEIL: Theatrical Academia
actual theatre kid, super smart, passion for performing and art, tea drinker, cultural wisdom, def has laybills hung up on his wall, scripts fill his drawers, old vanity mirrors, plus a midsummer nights dream is a MAJOR inspiration for this aesthetic
a poet, cozy sweaters, homoeroticism, fountain pens, herbal tea, quiet and creative, loves plants and clouds, wishes he had bad vision to wear glasses, bookshelves, owns so much classic lit, has a globe and still sucks at geography, owns classic art knock-offs
CHARLIE: Chaotic Academia
existentialism!!, literally cannot study but still does well, thinks he’s a philosopher, rebels in style, collects banned literature, coffee coffee coffee!, arson, loves art but executes obnoxiously, swearing while discussing poetry, conspiracy theorist, cigarettes
itchy wool sweaters, loves learning hates school work, latte’s, excited about college, baking!, chess master, goes to the museum so often he could give the tour, pipes, actually enjoys reading the newspaper, very musical
also excited about college, chugs anything caffeinated, typewriters, overcast weather enthusiast, obsessed with the renaissance, red wine at dinner, phantom of the opera, fencing, poker!!, notebooks full of unfinished short stories, essay king
all his art is based on a human muse instead of inanimate, fuzzy blankets, passion, holding hands, lipstick stains, owns so much tweed it’s scary, good at sewing, gardening!, pressed flowers, slightly overpowering cologne, wears his moms pearls
CAMERON: Scholarly Academia
well taken notes, either perfectly dressed or extremely disheveled, satchel full of pens and pencils, helps with homework if anybody asks, vocabulary off the charts, high achiever, gives up weekends to study in the library, already accepted into 3 colleges
